I have lost 2 almost identical posts today. They were posts commenting on others comments. Guess I wasn't suppose to make those observations, so won't try a 3rd time.

Dgd15 apologized to her dm yesterday and said that her hips hurt. Still doesn't make it right.

Well, I'm in the doghouse, sorta, now.

Dmil wants to get ds/ddil a baby monitor for the baby shower.
Ddil thinks they don't need one (baby will be sleeping in their room, house is sooo tiny) and says if they get one, she will sell/return it.
* sigh *
DH thinks they probably could use one, put the base in their bedroom & the other section in the den/kitchen -- which I somewhat agree with, but like I said, I can't imagine not being able to hear a crying baby from one end of that house to the other.
DH also thinks it is VERY wrong to sell/return something one's grandmother gives as a gift.
AND... dh thinks it was VERY wrong for me to tell them what dmil was getting them -- ruined the surprise, etc.

All I want to do is eat & sleep. If I were a man, I would think I needed testosterone supplements. (Been listening to Rush Limbaugh, where they advertise something like "Ever lasting Male" -- LOL!) Yes... I am unmotivated & exhausted... Yes... I just want to sit on the couch.

What kind of music do these teenagers listen to? I think a lot of rap and rock music has such filthy language in it that a lot of kids start thinking those words ARE acceptable.
Likewise movies -- example -- Hatfields & McCoys.

Cowinkie, sorry to say, I'm too young for 8-tracks (had no money when they were big in my teens!). Missed out on laser discs as well because of lack of money. My bff and I still talk about recording our favourite John Denver tunes on a cassette and carrying my battery operated tape player (the size of a small textbook) to listen to as we walked to high school to write exams. Geez, that sentence contains two out of date references (tape player as opposed to walkman and 'walking to school' something that teens don't seem to do anymore.)

I talked to ds. He has made a dentist appointment at long last (on Monday I suggested he make that his goal for today since he is off work all day and then I sent a reminder email which he followed up on.) And he says he's ok about going on his own. I hope this works out OK for him but he is old enough to learn to advocate for himself and seems to want to so I won't be hovering since he doesn't want me there. He had to insist that he wasn't even coming in for a cleaning - only for them to look at his teeth and develop an estimate. Our dentist is great (she's on the young side and knows ds as a person, not just a patient since he helped her out at the ER when her FIL died unexpectedly) and I've talked to her about the situation so I know she'll handle it well.

I've IM'd with dh. He didn't feel any tremors today but someone beside him claimed to have felt one so they must be very light now. His hotel room has been moved to the back of the hotel because of noise from a fuse-box disturbing dh.

I've cleaned my bathroom, rearranging things slightly to find a space for my new makeup routine supplies. The counter, which had been cleared off a few years ago, was getting more and more cluttered.

I've also brought in the laundry and queued up two more loads to do tonight.

I suppose I should start cooking my supper now.

lucylee yes you can use hell. It isn't one that is blocked.

OKay I did something similar with my dnephews. Only when I pulled over and stopped the car I got out and told them to get out. I looked them straight in the eye and said you will not talk like that in front of me. They never have.

Their eyes were so big and they were white as sheets. They didn't know what I was going to do - make them walk home or strap them to the roof of the car. Their Unc (my DH) threatened them with that jokingly but at times they thought he may be serious if they were getting loud.

DS and ddil are just certain that they do not want a baby monitor. They say babies have survived for thousands of years without one -- did I have one for him? (No.) -- How did I keep him alive? They think the motion-sensors would probably be going off all the time and scare you to death for no reason.
* sigh *
NOW... after reading the reviews, etc... I am thinking YES, they DO need one b/c I am scared to death of SIDS... sooo...
What to do? What to do?

They did say if grandma thinks they really need one, and she gives them one, they will use it, but they'd rather have something they really want, like a swing.

My dinner takes an hour in the oven so I got the weekly kitchen chores done and have cleaned the other two bathrooms (more accurately, swished them since they are seldom used and need dusting more than cleaning.) I've also loaded the washer with the next load of laundry and put it on time delay start.

Cher is motivating me to get all this done. I've turned the volume down from 67 to 47 since I opened all the windows to let the cool evening breeze in. I don't need the neighbourhood to be listening too!

It is amazing how much music can change ones energy level.

Our high Sunday was 97 tomorrow it will be 49. Brrr.

lucylee can you talk to Ds and Ddil about the benefits. Sitting outside. Traveling and the baby isn't staying their room. When a little older coughing with a cold, while watching TV in case the TV masks the sound, etc. It is the benefits for the now but the future.

Quick check in...I read posts earlier and came to post a reply hours ago it seems. Phone calls, dinner for dh and I and ddogs, brought the mail in --- and found this screen still up. We had a nice day here, temp never quite reached 90*. We didn't get nearly as much rain from the tropical storm and central and north FL did.

Congratulations Harmony & dh on your Anniversary! Hope you can take a little time off to do something special. Dh sends his good thoughts, too!

Good numbers on your glucose checks Nancy and Dee. Dh is usually under 90 in the a.m., but earlier this week it went up as high as 132 because of this "cold" he has.

He called the dr. office yesterday morning and they called in rx antibiotic and we picked it up same afternoon. It's a once a day for five days. It must be working; he says he is starting to feel different. Still tired though, but coughing spells are not as much. (He told me one time he would like to take his whole head and bury it in the back yard!)

Lucy I'm sorry your weekend wasn't as pleasant as it could have been, but it was nice that you found some positives!

Our ddogs, Blondie-yellow lab and Minnie-black lab, announce loudly when anyone or anything walk up the street or ring our doorbell. I let them bark for a while before I tell them quiet. Our dogs are sweethearts too and freely give their kisses, but I know we are safe against intruders!

One of our phone calls this afternoon was from ds#3. His good news was that he got word today that he was selected to be promoted to E7 (Sgt. 1st Class) this June. He's been passed over for at least four years now, even though he has been doing E7 level work in his jobs. Needless to say we are very proud of him!
