I think I once got something from amazon the day after I ordered it -- or something ridiculous like that. I have prime too. they are good.

Dd14 felt good about both parts of the exam. She had time to go back and check her answers on both sections. That is a good sign. We'll see. . . This is the state? exam that is used to determine hs credit and placement for next year, but I'm not too worried.

That is very touching that DD wants to do what you did, Kathryn.

Need to make a salad and heat up rolls and dinner will be ready.
Never had a proper devo. time; I'm off for an abbreviated one now.

It is amazing how Amazon gets things out so quickly. It must be because of the number of distribution centers - not only the central locations but also the manageable volume they put through the centers. Even though they aren't charging shipping I find when pricing things that the shipping is built in. On another site the item is cheaper but then shipping is added bringing the cost to the same amount Amazon is charging but they can't get it to me as quickly as Amazon Prime.

I love Amazon Prime.

Amazon in Canada isn't as quick but that is mostly due to Canada Post. The USPS is beyond amazing.

Even so, if I order something on a Monday, I usually have it by Friday which is pretty impressive for Canada. Staples have their own delivery service so if I order by 6 p.m., I'll have it by 10 the following morning because my home is on the way from their distribution centre into the city.

Dh is having a good day but tired. I should say so, I got email from him written after midnight. He has no idea of the news in Canada - hasn't heard a newscast since leaving home so I gave him a quick synopsis. It is all bad.

I'm off to choir in a few minutes. Did not have a productive day.

Our culinary services is experimenting.

It began on May 1 - they changed their name from food service to culinary service.

Instead of serving 2 sets of menu items at lunch and two different sets of menu items at dinner they began service the a choice of 3 at lunch and the same at dinner. By the end of the month they discovered 3 are too many choices and there was a lot of waste in the kitchen.

Beginning this month they are serving 2 different menu item choices all day. Instead of lunch fro 11:30 - 1 and dinner from 5 - 6:60 the dining room is open from 12 until 6.

A few of us were going at noon last month. For me it is healthier to have my main meal at noon. Now we are trying 3 pm since that is available. I think it is going to work well.

Dson was by to spray the trees for fungus.
H. is home from work.

Choir went well. I'm a still a bit lost on the anthem that I switched parts on but am fine with the rest.

The cake was hit with the choir. They were asking for the recipe.

Phoned my senior friend. Her son has had her move to his house to dogsit while the son and his family are away on holiday. She really didn't want to go but he convinced her. I called to let her vent a bit and invite her out on Wednesday. She needs a trip out to the bank so I'll pick her up early and take her to the bank first and then we have lunch with the minister.

We are in the middle of a rain storm with pea sized hail - but not much of the hail. The gravel parking lot we are sitting in is now a lake. They predict 1 1/2 inches which is the first rain they have seen since December.

It came up too fast for us to get into the lodge. So we are sitting it out in the MH. There was some wind at first but now it is coming almost straight down. Some grumbling thunder.

It's that time of year again - we need to start thinking of how we are going to use our time during the summer. No wasting it!

Almost - just gentle drips now. We can have one side of MH open to smell the rain.

MT - are the storm sounds loud inside the MH?

I rode along with DH as he made an errand run to town. I worked on June calendar events, goals and focus during the drive. I was able to ask DH what he thought about a couple of the events and finalize some plans.

LO is in the bathtub (I'm sitting right outside the bathroom door watching him). I should record it because he is singing silly songs he makes up. One of the things he plays with in the bathtub is foam numbers that cling to the bathtub wall. He is arraigning the numbers on the wall and saying the commandment that goes with the number (he isn't getting them ALL correct, but he is making an effort). Until I started teaching him the 10 commandments.....I didn't know which commandment went with what number either.
