Re: Smarter Saturday
Baking the pumpkins whole was a success! They now have been processed which resulted in 14 bags of pumpkin puree in the freezer and more pumpkins seeds than I want to deal with!
I'm glad to be done with pumpkins for the year. On second thought........having a supply of pumpkins to decorate & carve this fall would be kinda neat....maybe I'll plant some for fall garden.

Re: Smarter Saturday
We are parked at our campground for the next 6 nights. We are under big oak trees so the MH is fairly cool.
DD#1 and her family are busy today as we are in a day early. But we will get to go to church with them tomorrow.
OH! puppy count is 3 yellow boys, 3 yellow girls and 2 black girls - all strong and healthy labs.
Now it is time to take a nap.

Helia: Bittersweet's daughter is getting married. The other SHE-daughter escapes me for the moment. Look around and see who's missing and that should give us a clue!
I'm back from choir. Yes, I know it is after 2. Hard to start my day at 2 but I have been productive:
1. planned dinner (BLTs.)
2. Laundry progressing very well - load one was on the line before we left at 8:45, load two in the washer. Load one is now put away, two is on the line and three is in the washer.
3. Mocked up my preaching copy of the service and practiced in the car. Rewrote the ending. Again.
4. Choir practice. Turns out the lady sitting next to me will be introducing me tomorrow!
5. Lunch out at Subway with dh.
6. Grocery shopping done. Just a few things but hit a new store and it matches prices and I had all the flyers so I saved $3 on a $25 order. Plus only had to make one stop. The Subway and this grocery store are on our new route to the choir rehearsal church (which is not where we will eventually be singing.) The church is almost the farthest it can be from us in this city - 40 minutes. But it is air conditioned so I'm not complaining. In the past 8 days, we've driven into the city 6 times. But we are still on our tank of gas from upstate NY.
I'm now going to go over the sermon some more. I'm debating going over to our church to practice but the heat is oppressive and there's no electricity into the church right now (the wiring is being updated from the 60's so everything is cut off) so I wouldn't even be able to use a fan. Still, there's something about preaching while projecting one's voice. Dh is outside right now so I'll run through once at home first and decide if I need to go over.

Re: Smarter Saturday
That is so neat, that both weddings are on parents' anniversaries!
Best wishes to the newlyweds, and happy anniversary to Mr. & Mrs. Bsweet AND Mr. & Mrs. Ellyphant!!!
My day is off to a SSSLLLOOOWWW start. After sleeping pretty late, I woke up with a TERRIBLE headache. Took some Aleve, ate breakfast, slept some more. I've got to get busy.
* s2s, color hair
* Wmart -- pick up cake for ddil & misc items
* Pizza Hut
* dmil's
I still have a headache, too.
I don't know about being smarter today... I've attempted two Suduko puzzles & messed up both of them.

Re: Smarter Saturday
Let the music begin....
Here comes the bride,
All dressed in white,
Sweetly, serenly in the soft glowing light.
Lovely to see, marching to thee,
Sweet love united for eternity......
Okay...perhaps you could sell all your pumpkins to Peter...
Peter, Peter pumpkin eater,
Had a wife but couldn’t keep her;
He put her in a pumpkin shell
And there he kept her very well.
Peter, Peter pumpkin eater,
Had another and didn’t love her;
Peter learned to read and spell,
And then he loved her very well.
I think its silly Saturday for me ...must be the new meds ya think

Re: Smarter Saturday
Ohhh Harriet...I just couldn't resist
Question: What does it mean to fall down and break a crown?
Answer: This reference to the "Jack and Jill went up the hill" nursery rhyme line, "Jack fell down and broke his crown" means that Jack fell down and broke his head. 'Crown' in the time period when the rhyme was written meant 'head'. Whether it meant that he just bumped his head or did more serious damage is open to interpretation

Re: Smarter Saturday
Hair is nicely colored, I'm all s2s... s/s both bathrooms... and confirmed pizza order w/ds.
Now to get to Wmart and then party @dmil's.
Asked ds if he had heard from my parents, and he said no, that he/ddil/dgs would probably try to see them tomorrow. DS & family are leaving Monday for approx 10 days -- she & dgs will be visiting her parents while ds is out with the band. My dparents know this... and know that today is ddil's bday... but ds & I both hate to call them this afternoon & end up having to say, "Well... we're celebrating w/dmil & you aren't invited." * sigh * Dmil wouldn't mind a bit if they WERE invited -- don't get me wrong -- she'd probably love to have them -- but that would probably not really be ddad's thing... so... there we are.
I told ds, it's like being in a step-parent family, the way I try to juggle everyone & make sure everyone gets "equal" time.
And, yes, I could have it all over here, but it's hard for dmil to get out and go, especially @ night, and she likes having us all at her house.
Anyway, it'll all work out. Ddad is in the middle of this month's chemo treatments, so he's probably not feeling 100% right now. I'll call them tomorrow to check on them -- I talked to them Thursday after his first treatment & he was okay. I'm sure ds will manage to see them tomorrow, so I guess it's all good.

Re: Smarter Saturday
Finished the service. It is all printed out and in my binder. Nothing will blow away, nothing gets out of order. I like having a binder.
Dh doesn't like having a binder and has just learned we are required to have black binders for our choir music. Sigh.... He's grumpy about that. I'm grumpy that I'll have to buy two black binders. My church ones are all white. They still don't know what we are wearing for the services but it won't be gowns. I'm hoping to find out soon - if I need to buy something I need time to find it at a thrift shop.
Dh is starting to cook dinner now. He wants to make homemade onion rings so is puttering around getting ready to do that by clearing off space.
