SINGLE SATURDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

What SINGLE thing can you focus on to accomplish today? For me: I have two oval plastic bins with miscellaneous items -mostly for computer, banking, postal, etc. in them. I want to slim those down so I have items that have to go back & forth to FL with us.. Do I really need umpteen books of checks. So my mission is to sort them, put everything in 1 bin that I need to travel, LIST them (sorry Harriet), and put the rest in the other for 'storage'.

Got up at 5:20 for a potty break and never did fall back asleep. After dh was up and out & about I came out & did my early morning routine (not much -just testing, meds & a cup of coffee). Been on here ever since.
crazy thing again where you can type a letter or two (or a WORD or TWO) and then have to wait to see it appear on the screen.
Mine will do that too, LucyLee. Doesn't happen to be right now though.

There's a raft race here at 10am so want to go watch that. Mostly to see what rafts people have built.

DD made Low Country boil last night for supper. One guy from the campground often brings us something culinary -which happened about 4 yesterday. He brought over dishes with roast beef, mashed potatoes, carrots, beef broth. So dh wanted me to ask dd to bring everything here for the boil as her RV is right across the road from this couple. I didn't want to do that and decided I'd simply tell him that dd had this dinner planned and we'd enjoy his meal today. As it turned out dd had asked same couple over for the 'boil' as they'd never had it. So we all thouroughly enjoyed a 'different' dinner.

Had a nice campfire going -which actually felt nice since it was fairly cool last night. Dh had ordered fire wood for dd from friend.

On the Road Again!!!

Not really - we are sitting at a gas station filling up with fuel. It is a bit scarier to fill up with the 28 ft MH plus the pickup behind us. We used to unhook from the 5th wheel and go in with just the truck before. Now we are also getting gas vs diesel before.

Anyway - about 209 miles to DD#2's house. Most of our driving will be via divided highways so that is always easier as we don't have to worry about people passing us.

Time to navigate - see you in MI this afternoon.

Early start, MT! Of course you're probably in Central time zone now?

Ddogs had me up at 6:15 or so. I took them out in the back yard but it's like a swamp out there and I was sinking in. So also took them across the street. I've read the paper and am drinking coffee, and dh and I are thinking about what we need to get done today. He's going on to Torah study this morning so I might go back to bed for awhile.

Good Morning!

I have missed being on pc the last few days. I have been around but going non-stop and not stopping to sit down to post.

THANK YOU for the anniversary wishes! We had the 4 generations come stay at our home to care for LO while DH and I got away a few hours. DH and I discussed doing /going somewhere for our anniversary but neither of us could think of anything we wanted to do/go. Soooooo we just went through our day with a heighten appreciation of being blessed with 39 years of marital bliss. :) During our 5 hours "away/alone"....what did we do? DH had an appt with cardiologist then we stopped by ENT doctor office for 2 shots. Since I didn't have my 3 year old helper with me I went makeup shopping at the ENT office. They gave me a mini facial which is always nice to be pampered and resulted in me bring home some new makeup :) We ate at Olive Garden, stopped by Sam's for 1000 lbs of salt then it was time to skedaddle home. Just a normal day....my favorite kind. :)

trying to think of what else I've been up to the last few days....

I've arraigned for LO to have private swimming lessons twice a week. I'm thrilled to find someone who lives nearby, has a in ground pool at her home and a love of teaching little ones. $15 for 30 minute lesson is a win/win for both of us.

I've ordered LO birthday cake (backhoe) and now need to decide on a location for his party. DDad can't get out of the vehicle so having party inside our home is not an option. The temps are over 100 degrees everyday with no end in sight, so planning a birthday party outdoors has its challenges. I'm thinking a spray park would be a solution - we can park vehicle where DDad see everything and the outdoor location will be cooler due to the water in the air. The little ones will be occupied and have fun playing in various spray devices. I know of 3 local spray parks but I've only taken LO to one of them......hum.....seems like it is time for us to check out the other two!

I've become a smart phone user again at DH request. I went with the biggest phone screen available (Galaxy Note). I've enjoyed my time away from always being connect to the internet. Smartphones can be wonderful tools, but they can also be a time sucking device. :? DGS's, DSon, DDIL were thrilled to see me back in the texting world. Text and pictures were instantly flooding my txt message inbox. All good though. :)

It is nice and cool here this morning. I could have worn a jacket.

I didn't tell you one of the benefits of being bored in the hospital was the time I could spend on working on my bad arm. I got many hours in each day and I can now reach the back of my head. It is easier to curl now.

I'm waiting for my groceries to come.

Dfriend/rabbi's wife came by with some goodies for us and for a tour of the house. I had just gotten out of the shower so I need to go back and brush teeth, etc. She had texted to ask if it was okay to come by but I was trying to squeeze in the shower and leg shaving. She took some of my smaller boxes that were broken down for a summer camp that she's doing in August.

Another thunderstorm moving through. I'm really tired of dMacs going nuts.

Good Morning Dear Ladies,

Just stopping by before heading off to work.

Six days until we take off!

It's another HOT day here for us. Yesterday was 108. It's hard to get motivated to do anything even inside with A/C.

I've been shopping a little bit each night when I get off work. Just a few things for home and trip. That way I don't have to deal with a large cart of stuff to load, unload constantly and put away.

I ended up getting instant oatmeal for DH and I to take with us. We want to stick to our oatmeal breakfasts, it seems to help our health in so many ways. Got the flavored kinds so won't have to worry about carrying sugar with us. We just use a little sugar on the oatmeal but it is one less thing to carry. Don't really like the flavored kind, not sure how much sugar or whatever else might be in there. But for the short time we are away, it should be ok.

Got a bill yesterday and paid that this morning.

DH had a late night service call and ended up hitting a deer when coming home. :o They just dart out in the road. Thankfully everyone was ok, well except the deer, and the Suburban is ok too.

Got to get ready for work now.

Have a great Saturday all!

So glad your dh and the suburban are ok, Sadie! We've all had our share of deer run-ins here too. Think we all have at one time. I've managed to hit at least 3. (Two with one shot once. ) That's my biggest concern about driving after dark here -though daytime is no guarantee either.

It's nice out here this morning cool and no wind! Yea! I've I've slept in today. Until 8:00 when a neighbor started mowing. A good time to get up. I picked up apples and moved one item in the patio expansion project. Coffee is made. Thought of some thing for the pot luck tomorrow at church. [I think it's this week anyway.]

Bed room looks better than it has in a while
Half of the kitchen counters are done.
Great progress here gals WTG!
