Harmony ~ There's nothing more painful than crawling on the floor and crouching to see where to paint. You needed one of those creeper things on wheels that old time mechanics used to roll under cars. Does anyone still use those?

Dee & Mr. Dee ~ Happy anniversary!

The radio dj said, "High today of only 92" and I immediately thought, "Oh, that's a relief!" Crazy but true. It will be more than 10 degrees cooler than yesterday's high temp. We had a cool front blow through last night and even got a tiny bit of rain. After today it's supposed to cool more and be in the mid- to upper 80s for a few days. I'm looking forward to being able to move faster and do some deep cleaning.

Priority for today is to run household errands. My watch is not working right and I already tried replacing the battery, so it's time to replace the watch. Indoor cats need food. Freezer is pretty bare.

A disappointment: I've been looking for metal ice cube trays. Yesterday I found them online at 2 sites that I use all the time. Could not bring myself to order them because both places showed reviews from customers who reported them as being flimsy, with the handle breaking within the first few times of use. I'm guessing both sites use the same distributor for this product, made in China.

Bookie-- try Thrift Stores. That is where I found mine. Soaked them in bleach and we are good to go.

Good morning! I left home at 8:15 earlier after walking the ddogs a mile. I met with the rabbi this morning - long meeting - lots to catch up on and he was at camp last week so had been around dd too. I stopped off on the way home to change my address at the election commission and vote early in the upcoming election and I'm home for about 45 minutes before I go for my "body work" aka massage therapy. I have a lot of weird aches and pains left over from the move - left side of back (which is a new area of soreness for me) the bottom of left foot (perhaps related to back or related to walking ddogs more) and lots of other kinks to work out.

We got up late this morning so I haven't done much of a.m. routine, will work on that a bit....

cats, so good to see you posting. Several families here dealing with fewer hours of work. I hope your school year there will be a good one. Our high school (where dd will start) has had upheaval.

Economy/building - a few upward signs here - saw a new foundation for a house about 1.5 miles from me on a lot that's been waiting a long time for anyone to pay attention. Dstepson says his co is pouring more concrete lately - he had to work the weekend, which was a mixed blessing. A local builder is in the paper for starting a new housing development. A park (softball/soccer) announced grand opening 2 towns over. Bojangles and Taco Bell have sprung for new locations in the next town - TB a renovation, BoJ a new building. Both chains brand new to the town.

I got a little sun this a.m.

HRH finally lost patience with the black snake he reprieved a month ago. Something about your wife screeching, I guess. (Rascal was on my darling girls' ROOST and if a flashlight had been a gun, he'd already have been done in that second! Now if I have mice this winter, I can't say a word, can I? Anyway, the screeching was last evening, the hoe-ending this morning when HRH opened the henhouse and saw him right back in there again! I told HRH he didn't have time for this because he'd be late, but he said he didn't have time to keep dealing with it either, so... ... my husband's clothes weren't exactly perfect when he left this particular morning. Guess those are the hazards.

Tuesday was a big work-day for dd and I at my parents' house. Today needs to be the same here. So, calling an Apron Day. Mr. Washmore already started.

I saw a deer on my walk, it sprinkled a few rain drops just enough to keep me cool.
H. is on call so he is home and doing some of the watering.

Harriet cats are way less scary than snakes neighbors cat got another mouse yesterday left it in the back yard so I put out water for the cat and don't mind if it hangs out here in the shade paying rent in mice it catches! LOL!

The excitement here today was seeing the sheriff that lives around the corner parked down the street and then a red pick drives up & I realize it's the guy with the donkey and say to h. "the donkey must be out again" sure enough a few min. later both rigs are "herding" it up the road and around the corner.

Thank you, thank you! We went out for breakfast for a start to our 'get-away'. Now I'm packing a few things. Almost thinking of going to the small 'city' about 25 miles west of here and spending the night. I could book a room for $99.99 (plus all the extra fees I'm sure) OR I could use the extra $20 coupons I have for there/and their water park. I think the coupons have perks added in -so for the same amount of money DH could use the water slides, etc. Think there's a voucher for the casino and for food added in too. So why not spend those gift cards?

Sky was getting blue again -we got 1/2" of rain last night. There's supposed to be more storms today so we haven't really planned completely. Perhaps spend the night in B----- and then go from there in the morning. DH came home with lots more touristy info after their excursion to Ft. Niagara yesterday. All 3 of them thorougly enjoyed that and the underground boat tour in Lockport, NY. There were just way too many steps for me and 50 degrees in the underground.

I'm probably not going to take the computer with me so won't be in touch till we get back. DH is trying to round up things to decorate our site for Christmas in July. Dcampowner is nervous that he may not get the participation this year. There's all sorts of prizes for decorated sites, golf carts, bribes for the judges, etc, etc.

Off to finish packing and getting out of here.

Thanks again for anniversary wishes. Hard to imagine we've been married this long plus 'going out' for 4 years before that.

It is much cooler today but very humid. We had a couple of rain bursts this morning and another one coming. I hope those of you east of here get some of this rain. It isn't much at a time but it is much needed.

The hawk has been busy this morning.

Very quiet here in the village today; I guess everyone is busy with their daily cards! After my am routine I decided to pull a box out to go through, so one box led to another and so on..... I emptied one completely, condensed a couple, relocated a few things, threw some stuff away and started a box for G.W. or Am Vets if they call first. I piled some stuff (blank notebooks, office supplies, etc. on the desk, so now to make room for those things.

Harriet, so glad the snake won't be bothering your hens now. We see snakes here too, mostly black racers, which slither away quickly. The only poisonous one I've seen was years ago when I went to open our church building on a Mon. am. I screamed that time!

Kathryn, congrats to Ken and you for the awards!
