May you be blessed by a 'windfall' of whatever is needed in your life: patience, money, rain -you name the need.
Right now I could use a windfall of energy. I'm so sleepy.
Woke up (some) when dh got up at 6. Got up at 7 -weighed, tested, cup of coffee and breakfast. That's as far as I've gotten.
Ended up getting 1.12" of rain yesterday in pretty strong storms. Know we're 'under' in needed inches but no longer in a drought here. Praying for rain in Okay's corner of the world.

Re: WINDFALL WEDNESDAY
Dh had two windfalls yesterday. I had to answer the business line at 8:30 because he was still working out and it was the hotel in Nova Scotia that had sponsored the free pancake breakfast on Canada Day. They had handed out ballots to win a night at the hotel, and dh has!
Second, when we picked up the mail there was a $5 cheque from the lottery corporation (he has them play his numbers automatically.)
Me? I managed to walk fast enough that we got home before rain came but I scored a blister as a result.
As my fridge magnet says, Another Day, Another Disaster.
Aren't you guys glad that Dee opened this morning?!
This ray of sunshine is just out of bed. After shutting down my computer to go up to bed I asked dh if he wanted to go over the set list for tomorrow and he did. He isn't kidding, it is an hour of music. So lights out ended up at midnight. He'll sing the majority. We have 2 duets and a couple that I have great harmonies for so I'll join him on those.
Today there is a church supper at the Anglican church so we may go to that when it opens and then on to choir rehearsal. That leaves the whole day (until 4 p.m.) a clean slate for me. Except I won't be done breakfast until 10 since I'm on the treadmill now and am just starting.

Re: WINDFALL WEDNESDAY
Maybe I should go get our mail today -it's been several days (we don't get much any more so don't go terribly often). Perhaps I'll have a windfall there. I'm looking for ours today.
I really need to get moving and find a windfall of 'feel better' about everything.
It is now 9:24 & I'm still in my pj's. Good thing I at least have the early morning breakfast, coffee & meds done. No up & at 'em for me yet. Wait for it, wait for it.....I almost feel a small burst of energy coming on. UP!

Re: WINDFALL WEDNESDAY
Yea I'm on line!
I've just picked up the windfall apples, the ones that fall in the wind or with out the wind that the birds & squirrels knock down. Heading to the berry patch in a bit here. Errands take my ballot in and pet chores pick up mail, things like that such as pick up Rx.
Speaking of birds. Crows are cawing over head today and it remeinds me of some campgrounds we have been to. They would wake us up early in the morning. H. had his breakfast out on the deck. BS was awesome at #105 this morning yea for that!
Bed needs made kitchen needs attn.
Happy to report I actually did some sewing this week!
92*-59* Today's temp range here.

Re: WINDFALL WEDNESDAY
And I'm happy to report that this SHE is finally s2s!
Late start today! Wondering if dd will be over at some point. She's without dgs7 the rest of the week. He has soccer (or is it lacrosse?) camp for the next 3 days. They went to the indoor water park -no worries from stormy weather right? Wrong. First fire alarm went off and trucks came but they were never evacuated. 2nd power went off but they had generators for lights in the park. There were some 'off-limits' during the crux of the storm, but they had a great time. DDIL & their brood also went, but they spent the night. DD & dgs got back here a little after 8:30 and she said she had to dodge road ponding in places.
I'm sitting here putting together my cards and think I'll call the maid (inner) to get busy here.
Hoping Okay's fires are gone today. (I'm sure they don't need wind fanning the flames).
First up will be to do up the dishes. I still haven't gotten to the laundry room, Helia. Thus the pile of coloreds is ever growing.
Have to heat water for about 25 minutes first. We only turn the electric on for that for as long as it takes to get hot. That way I can use the faucet with my good arm and not have to mix hot/cold. There's usually enough to do dishes and wash my hair if I want.
Need to do a good vacuuming here. Maybe I'll wait for that AFTER dlab goes back to FL next week. (I have swept frequently. When we ordered our park model we got flooring put in through the living room, so it's easier upkeep. I do have throw rugs (which are constantly disheveled & I'm thinking about replacing them with some that don't move all over the place. -maybe NEXT year
)
DH did win a prize for his Christmas in July display Saturday. I had been trying to find a place to store our coffee pot as we'd bought a new 1-cupper while we were away. What did he win? Yep -a coffee pot. Now I have 2 to put away. Many people stopped him to tell him they thought his should have been First -maybe next year. We have fire bushes across the top of the berm and he covered those with LED lights and made a 'tree' with lights down from our flag pole. Nice effect was that the flag was flying above the tree and you could see it all the way around the big pond. I see more lights in our future.
Wish I could have gotten a picture but it just wouldn't show as well in the dark on the camera.

Re: WINDFALL WEDNESDAY
Also thinking about Okay. Today is Dd#1'ss 20 th wedding anniversary. Sure doesn't seem that long ago.
We are on puppy duty today. DD#2 and DSIL have it arranged with their days off that they only need help on Wed and Thurs. Except this week is the Relay for Life so we have 4 days to watch them.
Got a shot and brace for.my knee so it is feeling a bit better. Dr. Said it would take 72 hours to setttle down to see if shot would work.
Sorry for any typos as am using the kindle to post. Not used this keyboard.

Re: WINDFALL WEDNESDAY
Good Morning Dear Ladies,
Waving hello from upstate NY!
Trip went well, had lots of laughs along the way.
It was so good to see Daunt 93. She is doing so very well for her age. She gave me my dmom's cookie jar which she has had for many years. It brings back so many pleasant memories whenever I look at it.
Put Dmom to rest yesterday, and I feel so at peace with that. Now I know what closure means. going to put the cookies jar on the shelf where Dmom's ashes had been.
DH is having a good time too. He is very happy and glad we came on the trip.
The motel we are in is very nice. We have a suite so can cook and we had his sister and her son over with us for a visit.
Back to the vacation.
Thanks for all your prayers.
We leave Friday morning so please pray for us for our trip back.
Love,
Sadie

Re: WINDFALL WEDNESDAY
Slow start here too. It took me an hour to get dd16 to her art session and back home; I stopped to gas the car (we're driving the civic that ds uses so dd16 can get lots of practice in before her drivers license test in a couple weeks) en route home, plus road work all over the city doesn't help. Though, our city is notorious for very bad roads - I've been told we have a great climate for pot hole formation w/ lots of freezing and then melting in the winter months - so it actually does help in the long run. I have piddled on my computer, had bfast, unloaded and reloaded the dw. I will have some devo time next and then s2s.
Dd14 is working on a play date; I think I may end up driving her across town as well, but I think I can just tack it onto one of the trips I'm already making across town to pick up dd16. I pick up dd16 from art session at 12, get her to campus for mentorship by 1 and then pick her up from that at 3. Dd14 has field hockey at 5:30, but if she has a play date at her friend's house, then they will take her to field hockey, along with their dd, dd14's friend.
--OK, worked out. Leave the house at 11:40 with dd14 - and her field hockey gear. Pick up dd16 at 12. Drive south to drop off dd14 at dfriend's house, then back up to campus to get dd16 to her mentor meeting at 1. Then, I'll be home until I pick up dd16 at 3, and then I'm done chauffeuring until I pick up dd14 from field hockey at 7. The girls are not going to youth group tonight b/c dfriend A, whom they love, is coming over for dinner. Dfriend A actually engages the kids in real conversation and takes a genuine interest in them; not all our adult friends do that, and our girls do notice. Ds doesn't notice such things so much. . . .
Hoping OK is safe with the fires last night.
