Re: WELLness!! WEDNESDAY
I'm still up but barely. Throat is getting sore.
I read after eating breakfast and then went up to go back to bed but decided to sponge bathe and put on clothes first.
Then realized the sun was still out so threw on a load of laundry. They have not been drying well when in the basement so I was anxious to use the sun again.
Then decided to start dinner in the crock pot (it was now or never). This recipe was a bad choice and took me 40 minutes to put together. The kitchen is all cleaned up and I've invited ds for dinner since there's lots of food (more than 2 meals' worth even if he comes.)
Dh hung out the clothes for me. Dinner will be at 6:30 so I'll need to have a lunch today (I have been skipping lunch and just eating dinner early.)

Re: WELLness!! WEDNESDAY
Hello from FL! I was awake at 5:45 am this morning and could not go back to sleep. I got up but stayed quiet till dh woke. We've had breakfast, fed ddogs and started am routine.
CUOP from the last couple of days was interesting. It is good to hear Kathryn is feeling a little better and got good reports on blood draw. Also thinking about Indiana and sending get well prayers her way.
My comment on clothes, church etc. ..... I've noticed that the young adults attending church don't always "dress up" for church services, many wearing blue jeans & sneakers. Many clergy encourage this so they will feel comfortable and keep attending because of the overall drop in attendance. The older people - old school - still dress up in suits/sport coats and dresses or pant suits. I like the idea of dresses for church, although I have worn dress pants occasionally. My personal preference is pantyhose with dresses and skirts; I don't like the feel of bare feet in shoes!
At home I wear blue jean pants or shorts, out shopping dress pants or capris with dressy top or blouse. Guess I'm one of the "old school" who was taught never to go out without dressing up. Dr. offices is another place where I've noticed that people don't dress up anymore!
((Twins')), ((OKay)) and ((Kathryn)).
WELLness Wed. fits good for me today also. I've been trying so hard to be healthy. Food is usually sensible, but I have a good appetite and maybe need to cut back on portion size. Also I think I need to add more exercise to my daily routine. So this is good encouragement for me today! Thanks, Dee .
It's almost time for lunch, but first I will finish what I've started: I've already washed b'fast dishes, watered indoor plants, wiped kitchen counters, stove, fridge, dusted l.room furniture. Need to:
** switch lol (sheets & towels) to dryer
** put air-dried dishes from breakfast away
** put clean towels/washcloths in bathrooms
** put clean linens on bed
** run sweeper in l. rm, d. rm & hallway
** sweep back hall and patio block
Oh, Harriet, I meant to ask about Vit. B. I haven't taken vitamins, etc. for a couple of years, but feel I could use the extra supplements. Dh takes Vitamin B12 every day per Dr.; I'm wondering if it's better to take in morning or evening....
Dh is off treadmill, now it's my turn.

Re: WELLness!! WEDNESDAY
It is almost noon here. I have been on task but it doesn't feel like much has been accomplished.
I have. .
x gone for a jog, 35 minutes
x taken care of some emails: (1) email from moms group secretary: edited letter to go with pre-registration for moms in moms group, (2) re-emailed small group b/c apparently the group email address had expired and no one got the original email I sent out Monday; (3) I emailed back dfriend of dsisil re: pages we're making for a magazine to give to dsisil and dbil at their wedding in 2 weeks. I could read the Dutch but responded in English. (4) Other odds and ends -- emails took longer than I thought they would.
x bfast while working on emails
x s2s, including shaving my legs - badly needed
That is it!! I am finally getting to drinking my morning tea. . .
I am boiling eggs for lunch; dh and I have a lunch date -- at home so I don't have to ingest more calories than I want.
While the eggs cook, I will make the bed and update laundry.
WELL. . . I need to eat well today. I ate ice cream and potato chips while watching a movie with dd16 last night.
PODA:
x jog
a.m. routine
groc. store - dd16's friend is coming over for dinner and sleeping over after youth group, I think.
finish page for Dutch magazine for wedding; apparently, it is to be finished by tonight. I had either missed that detail or no one sent out a deadline earlier.
((Kathryn)) I wish you were all better.
Does anyone know how Indiana is doing?
((OK))
((Twins)) - sore teeth can be the worst. Still no source? I use sensodyne toothpaste for sensitivity but haven't had problems for years. Well, other than a root canal I had 2 or 3 years ago. . .
It sounds like Harriet's household is humming along smoothly.
Always like to hear of Dee's involvement with dgkids. Sounds like a quandary with dgd in the fall.

Re: WELLness!! WEDNESDAY
Spent a lot of time scanning a recipe from a magazine and trying to resie it so I could read. It's one for Reuben Dip using the crockpot -thought I'd try that next week for potluck.
Dneighbor is here helping dh switch a couple of the hard awnings -they discovered several weeks ago that they had managed to switch the covers over the bedroom & kitchen. Now dh has gone to town to get something from the hardware storeThis will be the "good" thing about DSisIL coming next month -at least it's motivating me.
I also know I need to spend much less time in this recliner. Need to move it, literally! I searched on the net yesterday how the Amish would diet. Of course the answer was pretty much that they don't. Though they eat a lot of the things we would consider bad for us (like lots of carbs & desserts), they are pretty active day in and day out -except of course on Sunday, and most stay fairly slim. Net said that the incidence of diabetes is diminished in the Amish culture. I was also thinking about as I deep clean that they often have several other women gather to clean house for their hosting of "preaching Sunday". How many of us would want several other women in cleaning our houses from TOP TO BOTTOM?
I can't imagine. But then they don't have the stash & dash need that we sometimes have either.
Putting slides in and out periodically for dneighbor. He's trying to talk dh into leaving the slides out this winter -since the pull outs are now covered with solid roof. (had to go put bedroom slide back out) DH isn't too sure about leaving slides out. I'm sure he'll talk to the manufacturer before he decides or his 'go-to' guy at C World -he comes here & does most of the repairs on RV's and dh has a good rapport with him.

Re: WELLness!! WEDNESDAY
Which B's,Harriet?
I made a grave error about a week ago and started taking Kelp, thinking it would up my thyroid and metabolism. Uh, not supposed to take kelp if already taking blood thinners like aspirin. Yep, bleeding under the skin. One was sizeable and that scared the bejeepers out of me. Immediately took all kelp out of my viitamin regimen.

Off to bed now. I've been up all morning. Had a carrot and 2 chicken fingers for lunch plus some crackers.
Dh just asked if I've been experiencing pain today and was crestfallen when I said yes. It isn't bad at all, just a 1 or maybe 2 and the tense feeling in my tummy. But I guess since I've been up all morning, he thought I was feeling better and didn't understand I was in fact pushing myself.

Re: WELLness!! WEDNESDAY
Good Morning Dear Ladies,
Got 2 minutes left before the clock strikes 12 in my time zone so I can use the morning greeting.
I've been successful again with my one main chore each day so far this week. Monday=Laundry, Tuesday=floors and today was bathrooms. Tomorrow is dusting. I never seem to get to the dusting part so will try extra hard to do it tomorrow. With all this very dry weather, there is a ton of dust in this house so I don't know where to begin.
We had rain last night! It didn't last very long but it sure did help some.
I put the oven to self-cleaning today too. Couldn't run the whole time it was supposed to, there was too much smoke pouring out but should help some.
(((Okay))), will be praying for your family, that it comes out the very best for LO.
Will clean up from lunch and then I think I will read or do something relaxing until it is time to go to work.
(((Kathryn))) hope you get feeling better. Will go check posts to see what your tests revealed.
Thinking of (((Indiana)).

Re: WELLness!! WEDNESDAY
Home from the vet with dMacs. We were there two hours - the first was waiting around while the new vet reviewed our records and talking to him about Macs' bloodwork and records. Then they draw blood and then give him an injection of a cortisol product - after one hour they take another blood draw for comparison and then we were out of there. I was almost asleep in the room. I could leave him and pick him up later but I think he's calmer when I stay with him. The blood work measures the response of the adrenal glands to the injection.
I like the vet - he's an older man and was highly recommended by our previous vet. Took time to ask questions and do explanations for us too. Very personable.
I am going to nap now.

Re: WELLness!! WEDNESDAY
I'm up again but I'm not sure for how long.
I tried napping but there were phone calls so I gave up and read.
I finished reading the book I started at the hospital on Monday. Have two more in the series so may start another one tonight.
The dentist called to confirm next week's appointments. While I'm sure I'll be well enough to lie in a chair for a cleaning, I thought I should check with my doctor since I need to take antibiotics for dental appointments and she's told me not to take any meds. Sure enough, she's asked that I put the appointment off for 3 weeks. So that is done.
Dinner smells good. I'm in the mood for ice cream so am having that now as an appetizer since dinner won't be ready until 6:30.
Dh brought the laundry in off the line for me so I don't have to do that.

Re: WELLness!! WEDNESDAY
Dr. just called. She had a phone consult with a liver specialist and he wants to see me next week at the main hospital in the city, so am waiting a phone call from his receptionist. Have to go in for more blood work (for this guy) tomorrow.
