Thursday Traditions

Post by Bernice1027 »

Good Morning Ladies
I am new to this site. My late mother was a huge fan of the card system, I recently came across her original box while going thru more of her things, and found the addy to this site.
I look forward to chatting with you all, and following my Mom's tradition of getting my act together with a computerized version of the card system.

Welcome Bernice. You have come to the right place to interact with us. PWYC is the most active forum.

Glad you jumped right in. Keep on posting and let us know a bit more about you.

I'm one of the oldies. My DH and I retired about 9 years ago and hit the road in an RV. We just bought a small house in AZ for the winters but are still traveling this summer. Right now we are volunteering at a church camp in Northern Illinois.

Speaking of which - I'd better get going and do something. Like S2S and breakfast and then get to work.

Welcome Bernice!! This is a wonderful online community, very accepting and supportive. A computerized version. . . hmm... Did you find it or make it?

I am up, s2s-ed, have had bfast, and have chatted a bit with dd16's friend who ate bfast while dd16 did not.

I'm off to have coffee with dh. We were scheduled to have coffee tomorrow a.m. but today works better for both of us. We have to make coffee dates anymore to find time to chat; kids are up and around later at night now.

I saw that some of you saw Mystery last night! I miss you a lot, Mystery!! Always enjoyed hearing about your busy household.

OK, I will not get sucked into this machine today.

I'm up and s2s (but hair isn't dry.) I've also had breakfast.

Weight was up a pound this morning so the days of it falling off me are over and now I'll have to watch what I eat. Since I'm barely moving, I won't be able to each much. And since I'm off diet soft drinks and have added an extra glass of milk, I'm drinking far more of my calories than I usually drink, even if I'm diluting the juice with water. Obviously, the saltines will be among the first things to go since they are empty calories. Unless my tummy demands them.

A headache came on last night and is still there. Just a '1' right now but worrisome since I can't take anything. It was a '2' at times through the night so I used heat on it. Didn't sleep well.

My day is pretty open except for the morning since I have a blood draw. Dh has a hair appointment, dropping his suitcase for warranty work and then rehearsal and big performance tonight. This is the service that included Wondrous Love with organ and brass so I'm disappointed I won't get to be part of that. We never even practiced it all the way through during practice so I didn't even get to hear it in rehearsal. There's no way I'll be strong enough to go today, just to sit in the congregation, so won't bother trying.

So sorry to hear that you won't be able to make it to the concert, Kathryn. Is there any way to record it for you??

I wouldn't worry too much about the weight - but more important to get well. When do you see the liver Dr.?

I have been making scale drawings of the room here at camp that I am supposed to decorate. Biggest problem is the person in charge never goes out of her office so really doesn't know what the room is like now - plus doesn't know what materials are available to make the curtains nor the daybed cover. So I'm shlepping the samples to her with pictures and drawings. Not a good use of time.

Oh! well - I'm just a volunteer.

Welcome Bernice! Thank you for opening this morning.

I walked again this morning but I had to just force myself to do it. I hate walking by myself but I just have to keep at it. I do know that I get a better workout by myself because I walk faster since I am not talking or listening to someone else.

Better get a shower so I can get busy..............

At work. I was out of the house at eight and had walked ddogs for a mile earlier. Met with the rabbi and then on to payroll work.

I may need to leave early today to escort ds to a dr appt - dd has designs on the shared car and I'm not sure he knows how to get to this dr's office back on the mountain. Yesterday dd was in tears over her dermatologist appt - she hates the warts and wanted them GONE and she was sent home with a script to apply topically. Also have an evening meeting at 6 p.m. so this will be a long day.

I'm sitting here in absolutely silence. very very VERY strange

Daylight is burning....going to get started on next card

So silent. I'm trying to learn the sounds of silent household. I assume the sounds have always been here.....just in the background and not heard.

My phone makes a soft buzzing sound when a new message arrives.....
The pump on the fish tank quietly hums.....
the wind blowing through the tree leaves.....
the clicking of the keyboard as I type....
