FRIDAY FORECAST

Post by DeeClutter »

May it be warm and sunny (at least in your heart) wherever you are!

Right now it's teeming here. When dh got up I asked him to close the living room window (we had it open a couple of days ago when he & dneighbor were switching the hard awnings so we could talk back & forth). Had asked him last night but he forgot. (I'd do it myself, but I can't manage the up/down windows. Some are crank out, but a lot more are the up/down & a couple that slide. If it can't be done with one hand, I'm useless!

DS-R and dgs7 left for Pittsburgh yesterday at some point. Not sure if ddil went or not. When we talked to DS about 4, she still didn't know if she would have today off or not. She had also asked for yesterday, but was 'denied' and was very unsure about today.

I had a restless night and slept?? part of the night in the recliner -more to ask dh to get up and close the window if it started raining. I don't think he closed it more than 5 minutes before it started this morning.

Hope your dd14 had a good birthday yesterday, Harriet. Know what a blessing she is to you.

Have to make hummingbird food this morning & I evidently have lost my 'recipe'.

It is only 50 here this morning. Glad I brought my fleece for a bathrobe.

DS and family are coming up to camp next to us this weekend. Last night it was on again/off again when we went to bed - but on again this morning via email.

So after the dew is off the grass we get to put up their tent and blow up the air mattresses. That way they won't be in such a rush before dark.

I'm glad I went ahead and did laundry last night. Now I have to fold it and put away - plus pick up the trailer ooze in the MH.

My friend Nick has a third book out in his Big Lake series. They are mysteries set in Arizona and I think are great. The first one is .99 and the other two at $2.99 - so they are within my price range.

Off to wake up a bit more and to do something - even if it is wrong.

Good Morning!

Teeming is good. :) Glad the window was closed before it rained inside. This week my little corner of the world drought classification changed to exceptional. That is the worst classification. I find it a bit strange how normal the exceptional can seem.

It was a short night here. DH did repairs at MPB until almost 2am. I couldn't go help him (LO sleeping) and couldn't go to sleep until I knew he made it safely home. All is well that ends well. :)

Yesterday I spend hours on paperwork backlog. I didn't finish and really would like to stick with it until it is caught up. However due to my sleep deprived brain status, today I need to switch focuses to something mentally easier. Hum.....deep cleaning bathrooms MY WAY is appealing to me. I am going to pretend we are moving and take everything out of the bathrooms. Then will deep clean every corner/drawer/nook & cranny. I love cleaning this way. One of the results is a fresh look at the space and the creative juices flow. It is always surprising the amount of STUFF that doesn't get returned to the "new" room.

Today's activity is getting dd on the road this morning, helping ds get packed for school, and some downtime at home for me.

Yesterday was a brutal day - on the run all day from downtown, to old house on mtn to home again, and out across town to another meeting. DD is constantly on me about everything to the point I can barely interact with her, and don't want to to interact with her to be honest. Last night dh and I were at each other because of the stress too.

I am going to check in with her about getting up, then take ddogs out to walk.

DTwins, I so hope for you that as time goes by that you and dd will be on a more even keel, as she matures.

I'm still not s2s, BUT the bed is made, meds done, breakfast AND I've been puttering at cleaning out drawers and a couple of cupboards. I like cleaning that way too, Okay. In fact did some of that type of cleaning in our bathroom the beginning of the week. Still need to do the shelves in the 'washer' closet.

DH hung a picture in our hallway yesterday for me! :o It's a cross stitch dneighbor did for our anniversary 4 years ago -looks really nice as I come out the bathroom door! Only have about 4 to go now. Maybe I can get him to hang one next week. Or perhaps I can decide for sure where I want each one and he'll do them all at once. I do have one -the Prayer of Jabez that I took to FL & it still sits in the closet. I may bring that back here in the spring so we can hang it in our bedroom. That's one nice thing about having a park model as opposed to an RV -there's wall space to make it more homey. One of my biggest regrets is that one of my Kincaid pictures got left in the bathroom of the house we sold nearly 3 years ago. I'd love to have that now. Should ask the present owner if it's still there and if he wants it. We left a lot of our things for him when we sold -at least a lot of the furniture and some kitchen things.

I miss our bathroom in that house most of all! It was good sized and had LOTS of cabinet space & drawers. Also had a DR's scale in there that I just couldn't incorporate here.

Dee, yes. Some time away from each other will be helpful as well! She's been home for two weeks now. Also contributing to the issues is the fact that she unloaded her stuff in the garage when she came home from school, pulled stuff out and then took off for camp, left her room as it was for me to pack, and hasn't unpacked or straightened up her room since we moved and she came home from camp. She's had trouble finding things and she thinks it's my fault, and it's not. (You should see her room, BTW! )

It seemed like spring here today.
Needed to throw the blankets off bar one last night. Tonight seems warmer again. 73F

I can imagine Twin's dd's room. I remember what it was like with my dd and just add in boxes, regurgitating all over themselves.

I'm up.

Went to bed thinking today would be a higher energy day. Lights out was shortly after or before 11. Woke up at 9. Sigh....

Got up, made bed, came downstairs and made tea (decaf, first time in ages since tea made me feel sicker when I was nauseous), put away the dishes in the dish drainer and now I'm wiped out again. So it appears I get more energy as the day progresses. Will need to start tracking this since I can decide how to program my days accordingly.

Some friends from AZ commented on the rain they had last night as "female rain". I had never heard that term. When I googled it I came upon this poem by Agnes Tao. Explains it perfectly.
male rain

He comes
riding on the wind
kicking up dust
bending the trees
blowing flakes of rain
He flees past my window
to a distant rumble

In-laws beware of him
who mocks the braves
as his features are majestic illusions
his knife the cutting cold
and his soul a drifter

female rain

she pregnant with rain
comes
quite
softly
and gently
in the night

At dawn she gives birth
to little droplets of rain
and for days on end

awakening
male rain has come and gone
female rain is fading in the distance
father sun is here
and mother earth is awakening
