Hello Ladies
Well taking a break on this Labor Day, have been busy 'fall' cleaning. Worked last week on the Exterior/Yard of the house, my biggest accomplishment was cleaning organizing the shed, it was the pits, I also got the gardens cleaned out, and the bushes trimmed, the remnants of Isaac hit so I was not able to paint the back screen door or paint the trim around the doorbell/mailbox area, Dh wants to powerwash the siding, but I dont know when he will do that.
8's soccer game was cancelled Saturday so the girls and I spent time in the toy area going thru the toys, we have 3 boxes to donate along with thier sink-stove thing it took up alot of space, since they were so good about getting rid of stuff I promised them lunch out, so that is on my agenda today, while out I want to pick up a small bookcase for the toy area for thier board games, which are currently stored in the bookcase in the livingroom....I need a bigger house
If it clears up like they forcasted I hope to have a early Bbq, then start the prep for the upcoming week, we have 2 soccer games, a PTO meeting and Dh has a dentist appointment, all that along with my plans to gut/paint and reorganize the twins room..we shall seee what happens

OKay - try a 1x3 board on the wall with pegs or coat hooks for the cowboy hats with ribbons down each end with clothespins to hold the baseball type ones. I found small plastic clothespins at the craft store that had a hole in the end, I whip-stitched them on a inch wide grossgrain ribbon and hung all of DH's hats on them. DS has an over the door one that he bought that holds his hat collection. The whole thing can also go on his door for some added decor.

It is absolutely still here - not a breath of air. The humidity is very high so the air is thick. High of about 90 today. Feels like tornado weather. I'm hoping to get to some sewing but I'm sitting here on this machine. Who's got the BGS??

Trying to visualize, MT. . . are the clothespins attached to the board? We still have a chest of dress up clothes in our play room. I think we're saving them for grandkids at this point. We do have the little ones from one of our small groups at our house from time to time too.

x finished letter of encouragement/wisdom to dfriend 16 (I didn't finish last night; I was too tired and not thinking well)
x bfast
x s2s, teeth care
x bed made
x MBR cedar chest cleared of my things; dh still has some items there, including his stinky running clothes

We have a lovely open day today. Supposed to get up to 90 with no significant chance of rain, though we need it. I think I'll work in ds' room and maybe in the yard too.

-start laundry

The one I made for DH is of ribbon with the clothes pins sewn to the ribbon. Cost me about $2.

The hat rack I suggested for the cowboy hats would be the board with pegs or coat hooks screwed into it. The ribbon baseball hats would/could be tacked to the ends of the board to keep all hats in the same location.

MT - I hadn't thought of using a string/ribbon/clip method. Quick google search shows what I think your describing. Is it similar to this?

OKay - that would work for the ball caps - but more of the last link in my previous post for the cowboy hats. You can stretch it WAAAAY out and make it almost one line instead of the X's.

In the midst of washing one of his motorcycles, dh received a call that the plant was down. So he had to go into work. He was so.................not a happy camper.

I walked several hours ago but still need to do my workout. Guess I better quit procrastinating.............

Okay--I have seen a big , plastic chain-link thing that hangs from the ceiling and you can attach children's hats/stuffed animals to it with clothespins. Similar to MT's ribbon idea...Just had to chime in about that.

I see I'm too late with the ribbon/clothespin idea for the hats. My fancy summer hats hang from a skirt hanger in the front hall closet since I have way more rod space than shelf space. In the winter (with all the winter coats in there) the situation is reversed and my winter hats are on the shelf.

I'm having a great day. Energy level approached normal for the whole morning, although the morning snuck away from me. I was on the balcony, just finishing catching up on my devotions, my tea, chocolate and a muffin when the phone rang. Dh said that I could only chat for a moment because we had guests arriving in 10 minutes. Wow! I never had my morning cereal as a result, instead a quick call, dried my hair, brushed teeth and put away the vacuum (unused from Friday.)

Had a great visit with my friend while our dh's went off on their own. It was a 'wrap' day for her (she suffers from lymphodema in her arm as a result of her breast cancer) and she normally won't leave the house but came out as an exception to see me which was wonderful.

After they left, I had a larger lunch, did some tidying, neatened the car up and emptied its garbage can and opened the basement windows to air it some. The chair from the basement was just picked up. As they struggled to get it out of the house, our friend said, "You know what they say, 'where there's a Ken and a Will, there's a way!'" (his name is Will!) He's from the house I described as full of laughter, love and liveliness and you can see he takes that great sense of humour with him everywhere!

I will now go down for a rest since I'm just now starting to feel tired. Just 40 minutes ago I was bursting with energy so the change is dramatic to me but not unexpected after a relatively full morning.
It is now time to pull in the laundry from the line and
