Hello dear ladies,

Sending hug to (((OKay and family))).

It's in the 70's here, absolutely beautiful.

Have walked and going to do my exercises. Today is the day I do both walking and exercises.

Working on laundry too. Dishwasher needs to be emptied.

Listened to the Bible as I walked. Have 136 chapters left that I have to get through before the end of the year. Think I might make it. :D

Will check in later.

Good afternoon! Taking a break from wallpaper removal...

Lilac, that is scary about your bs crash. Hope you feel better soon.

Had my flu shot on Friday and legs feel a little achy. It may be just my imagination, or more likely, all the bending and squatting while fooling with removing that infernal wallpaper!!

Have had the holiday talk with DS and he says DDIL's DM will be heartbroken if she doesn't get them for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Told him that is fine as long as we see them at some point that week to open gifts. She can have them this year, but I hope they will alternate so it's our turn next year. We will have DD here with us since she is still single. So we will carry on! :D

Won't see DD or DS for Thanksgiving, as they both live too far away to come for that.

Leaving in a week to visit DD. Was freaking out about making the 10-hour drive alone, but I'm sure the time with DD will be well worth it!

I wish holiday plans were easier to make. Thanksgiving - well DD1 is going away the next day for a few and said either you come here and stay and watch everybody or we'll come there and leave them. First off, I don't feel strong enough for that long a trip. It's only 3 hours but fast paced traffic driving. Driving around town tires me out now. It'll be tough babysitting that long.

Christmas we have to make the trip up because they won't come here with their little ones.

I don't know, maybe I'll feel better when the time comes around, who knows, I will be just really looking forward to the celebration. I might even feel up to making a huge thanksgiving feast. In 2 weeks I might feel up to watching DGD for 10+ days like I have to.

DPC made. The Dr's. office says the lab results are on her desk. She's off to the hospital now, will probably get a call tomorrow.

More paperwork chores done. It appears like stuff is just stacked without their folders, but more than that is done. I wish we had gotten paid for all this paperwork we did that didn't amount to a job.

Dee, 3 houses ago we had an infestation of fire ants. DD had moved in and her clothes were piled all over the floor awaiting chest of drawers. Next morning fire ants were all through them and up into her bed. It was awful.

ellyphant, I hope that your ddils dm will come to realize that it is only fair to alternate. Because our dds live here, I am very flexible. Dd2 inlaws always have noon dinners. Then dd2 alternates with her xh, because his family too, has noon dinners, so we always have evening meals, regardless. Which is fine. I am just grateful to have them near, year round.

My nephew and his wife have a unique way to handle holidays. Each family gets a full year to have the dinners when they want, then the other family still gets to celebrate with them, if they are willing to be flexible. They have been happily married with no family problems for 18 years.

My dh worked shiftwork for 28+ years. I learned to be flexible and so when I became a mil, it was not an issue.

Taking a study break. Reminder to self for the future: don't wait until the day of class to do the translation. I am so rusty it is going quite slowly.

I am eating a honeycrisp apple. Mmmmm........ It is SO good.

I did get to the groc. store but will need to go again Wed. I don't know what I'm bringing for the moms group small group brunch since my leader hasn't organized that yet. And, I didn't get ingredients for Thursday dinner.

I have dd16's class schedule for curriculum night tonight. Dh may do her classes. Apparently, the art teacher has requested to speak to us. Dd16 will leave while I'm at Hebrew to go to the church to catch the weekly "bus" our church sends to the church in inner city Detroit with which we partner. We send tutors to help the Detroit church and neighborhood children every Monday evening. She has 2 exams tomorrow but feels confident about them.

I'll make a salad and put the casserole (still a bit frozen) in the oven before I leave.

With ds coming home for the holidays, things are a little more complicated. Tgiving is short enough that he will probably want to veg at home. Winter break at UM has traditionally been 2 weeks, short for a University. I've heard it will be 3 weeks this year. Perhaps we'll go down sometime during kids' school breaks then. Celebrating Cmas as a family on our own is a novelty since we usually go to my parents. This means we haven't been able to develop our own family traditions as well. . . I don't know if dparents are going to duncle's in KS this Cmas or not. They did last year. That might be the deciding factor. My parents don't complain to me either way. It is always hard to know what they are thinking b/c they don't really tell you either way, a bit of a constant guessing game. ..

4 more verses should be good; there's no definite assignment, we just translate. I just like to be prepared.

THANK YOU for you caring and support today. As i was CUOP, tears were streaming down my face from your comments.

I love coming here and reading about your life. The topics are always interesting!

i'm trying to get my focus back on regular life. i am soooooooooo very thankful to turn my focus away from legal stuff and toward the good stuff. Bring on the holiday discussions, the dishes to be done, the wall paper to be removed, the elder care, the coyotes, the vacation trip planning, the Hebrew homework, etc etc etc I say YES YES YES to it all!! I love hearing about it!

LO isn't home from school yet. He was expecting DMIL to pick him up today and I knew he would be disappointed if we changed the plans. DMIL said she would bring him home after they had "some adventures together". :D :D :D

ALRIGHTY! I'm not going to attempt to do my cards today, but I know I can do the 3D's

Grabbing my apron. Ahhhhh it feels wonderful and comforting to be sliding back into normal territory.....

** Dishes - need attention. I made smoothies this morning for everyone and the dirty glasses are still soaking in the sink.
** Duds - One load to be put away.....one load to be dried.
** Dinner - Done. We ate a big lunch with DSon today so I'm not cooking supper. I'm sure DMIL will bring LO home full to the gills. :)

(((OKay))) - I know how hard limbo can be... I have been in and out of it with DS13 for years up until 1.5 yrs ago when the courts finally ruled that his DStepMother (and I don't mean Dear) was abusive and dangerous. Now he cannot be in the same building as she is and his DFather (again not a Dear) is to whipped to stand up to her. I'm here for you if you ever need to vent.

Had a great day at work except for my neck which has been complaining all day that I'm not 20 yrs old anymore and I went Head Banging Saturday night.

know I need to get stuff done but I can't move my head... gonna lay down just for a bit.

Sadie, I think you can do it! After all, there are more than 3 months left in the year. But even if you took up some of the after-new-year calm days with it (and those are wonderful days for reading), you still could say 2012 is the year you read through. I'm very proud of you. I've never read all the way through, but I always thought I contributed to my late dh reading through several times, because I remember many times being quiet, or doing some extra chores so he could read. And I bought him chapter-thumb-tabs to help him find chapters and keep his place, see how far along in chapters he was.

helia, I also bought the HoneyCrisp because of a big display and banner in our local grocery. But I didn't care for it. (dd liked it and asked for more) To me, it is a Granny Smith in red, extremely tart, so I'm aware the ph is acid and probably not the best for my tummy. Absolutely beautiful apple, though, isn't it? Looks like fall itself.

((Harmony)) wow a big family trip on Christmas Day itself? You need to get some answers and have some time pass before you commit to too much. You are needing to make hard decisions just about whether you can manage a church service at this point. I know all this is obvious, sorry.

Desk Day work is done and it was long today. Did a few quick errands after picking up dd.

She got a perfect score on her Engineering Project so she is on cloud nine. She's happy that her poster has been hung outside the teacher's classroom door. Because she mounted on black posterboard and did it all in black, white and gray-scale it's very attention-getting. He warned her that he usually marks down for projects that have no color in the visuals, but hers was so striking because it was monochromatic to go along with the theme, that he felt it was really more creative her way and was making an exception. Anyway, if anyone wants to know anything about "The Progression of the Mechanical Pencil", just ask. That's got to be fascinating, right? (did someone say "Geek talk" earlier, MT? ;) )

Scattered...your comment about not being 20 years old reminded me of an e-card I once read.

Dear Fairy Godmother,
Think you could bippity-boppity- boo me back to the 17 year old and that awesome body I thought was fat?
Thanks...

Funny that the issue of how goes where on holidays. I divorced my dexh when my son was 7. We've been alternating T-day and Xmas for 24 years. I figure that the chances of my son marrying someone whos parents aren't divorced are slim and none. Which means my son and his "dw" will have 4 parents and 2 holidays to contend with...plus, what if they decided just to stay home for the holidays??? LOL

My son and I have come up with a way to handle this...We've been without each other before...and since now there is skyp and facetime, we can still be connected even if we're not together. We plan to make one weekend a year just ours to celebrate our "family" My son and I just talked about this today...he said to me, ya know mom, I was with you last Christmas so I'll see you this T'day....I wasn't surprised when he told me. I've already been talking to Sweetie about spending the Xmas holidays on some exotic beach.l Plus Norma and Mr. Guy will be here...so we will have family, just not the one I birthed ;)

Off to the post office..... That's one place I hate going to...ugh

Yes to honey crisp apples...they're just not here yet!!!

When we went next door in the back yard dgd said "are you sure about this?" I said yes I got permission first, we picked up the their backyard and I loaded branches in the trailer. Will use some for roosts in the hen pen.
While I did that dgd used their swing set for grand kids and we both had fun. Now I don't have to look at the stuff through the fence! They are not really up to doing it. Plus I needed to make up for some smoke days that I did not get all my walk in.
