Sunday PWYC

Post by OKay »

What a night! I'm glad it is almost over.

LO was sick to stomach over and over. I lost count how many times but I know it was over 10. He couldn't keep anything down. Finally around 2am I gave up on waiting for this bug/virus/flu to ease up and made the decision to take him to the ER. On the way there, i stopped by all night pharmacy and asked if there was anything OTC to stop him from throwing up. Nope.

The ER staff was outstanding. They put a little white pill in LO mouth and just like **Snap fingers** his stomach settled down.

Did a strep test and it came back positive so we came home with meds for that too.

***YAWN*** DH and LO are in bed asleep now. I'm trying to decide whether to take a nap or not. I think it would just make me groggy. I am teaching Sunday School class this morning so need to be on my game in a couple hours.

{{{Okay & Lo}}} Our dson said he has a cold on his fb page.

I could not sleep got up at three-ish, checked the eggs no action yet do not really expect any until this afternoon or tomorrow. I stepped outside it was 60* then and did here hear a roo crowing across the way in the distance.
Did some reading in my chicken book from the library. Today the last of the chicken wire will go up and then the paint. I've changed my mind [again] on how I want the roosts!

Trying to think of a back up plan if we do not get any chicks from this hatch sigh h. mentioned turkeys again more eye rolling! LOL!

Playing hooky from church yet another week b/c of the chicken run project sigh we had no idea this would take so much time.

Journaling is done.
Coffee is made.
Hair is almost dry after washing it before bed it was hot here thought I'd sleep better and be cooler. That plan did not work. Neighbor's dogs were barking but I was awake already so can't blame them!

Deer were in our yard this week a mom and baby in the night they did not eat too much. Having stakes in the garden helps keep 'em out of it and from grazing too much I'll remember that.

A friend brought by some greens so I'll be doing those up to freeze on Mon. when dgd is here and we'll bake cookies too for our "cooking day card". I have a plan yea! Left overs for one meal here. H. said he will grill burgers out of buns so will use bread.

Good Morning from NM. I have to look out the window to see where I am. Glad LO is better this morning, OKay. Make sure you schedule a nap (a long one) this afternoon and/or an early bedtime.

Ivy (and anyone else that writes): Here is a website a friend of mine writes. http://www.publishing4profit.com/
He has published a lot of books on Kindle and via self publishing. And he is making a lot of money. I read almost all Kindle books this summer as there are so many I love and so many free ones. Most of the time the first one is free and then I buy the rest of the series. My friend, Nick, only prices his books at $2.99 or less and has made over $80,000 this year.

Does anyone know what celebration might be going on last night. There were a lot of fireworks going off. Seems like there were some last week in Sedalia, MO, also.

Just realized there is a beautiful sunrise happening but we have a huge 5th wheel parked to our east blocking it. Oh,well, maybe tomorrow he will have moved.

We heard fireworks last week here too, MT. Couldn't figure out why or where they were. But could hear them to the west/northwest.

Took dh to meet ddil#1 for the Making Strides walk (breast cancer) this morning a little after 7. I was going to church but my knee is really acting up and it just plain hurts with each step. And getting up and down at church won't help. Plus it's cool and raining. Not a great day to be walking. They had to be in there early as DDIL is in the color guard from the sheriff's dept.

We're all going to DS-A & DDIL's #2 tonight for pasta. DH is hoping to winterize their MH while we're in there unless it's pouring. Would be nice to have 1 more done. He has dd's MH all drained so it'll only take him a few minutes to winterize that one.

I'm thinking I already need a nap. Zillions of things are running through my mind to jot down -in the getting ready to pull out line. So many times I wish we could just take our home with us. Not to be with a park model. Would love to be able to afford to put another just like it in FL. Of course then there would be lot rent again.

Hoping to get more pictures of new dgs today. We'll all too soon leave and he'll be nearly walking by the time we get back. They grow fast enough and when you throw in 6 months away they seem to grow that much faster. Know when dgs7 was little, that would be our first stop when we got back north. Had to get our 'fix'.

Glad LO is on the mend, Okay. that ol' strep can sure do a number.

Tough night sleeping. As I said in H&F, I'm hoping it is because the afternoon naps interfere with night sleeping, which would be a sign I'm getting better. Except, for now I need those afternoon naps, so will try melatonin tonight.

I'm on the treadmill now. I moved to the couch at midnight but didn't get to sleep until 1:15ish. Woke at 4 but went back to sleep and at 6:20 when ds was packing up (doing so in the kitchen so he wouldn't disturb us upstairs). He felt bad but I wanted to see him off because I needed to know if he sleeping here tonight so I can have dinner for him.

Ds is sleeping here because he's currently in the middle of 11 days in a row of working (plus doing scuba lessons that last 5 hours, two nights a week and studying his scuba book or rock climbing or yoga on the other days) and he sleeps better here. Probably the mess at his house is yelling loud enough to disturb his sleep!

I just sent him an email to bring his laundry so I can help him get caught up on that. He has enough to last 2 weeks, just for work times like this but still, when he's off work next weekend, he's doing his final scuba test which is 3 hours of diving, two days in a row and then a day diving with the group as newly certified divers.

I hope everyone is able to take care of yourselves today.

No payroll work for me today, so I'm happy about that. Gonna get going to church with ds. Then, later, is the pet blessing service. Ds & dd2 are excited to bring their rats. I love to see all the different animals people bring.
Every day is an adventure!

Debmasterx - I've never heard of a pet blessing service. Very interesting!

Kathryn - Your doing a wonderful job listening to your body and giving it the rest it needs.

I am up from a 1 hour nap and trying to shake the cobwebs from my brain. This groggy feeling is why I don't like taking naps. I'm sipping my first cup of coffee so I expect to be ready to rock-n-roll in a few minutes.

I'm txt'ing with DGS15 about today activities. We might get together earlier in the day. The ER doctor last night put LO on "low activity including no school" until Wednesday. So it will only be me and the older boys going shopping and out to eat today.

Alrighty! Caffeine is starting to take affect. *POOF*

There's a 'pet blessing' service in our meditation garden at church too, Deb. We've never had one before either.

I napped a little when I came back from taking dh to ddil. My right knee is giving me big problems right now, so rested with my heat pack on it for a while (well really dozed). Missed church altogether.

Just as well today's 'meet up' is 'off' today, Okay. Enjoy your time out with other 2 dgss. Good for you keeping that in the agenda.

Trying to sort out my l**ts for end of year stuff. Have to go over dh's with him later today. Oh my! Only about 4 1/2 weeks left. Think I need to make a master l**t of what I need/want to accomplish before we leave.

Dfriend, Virginia, who passed away a couple of weeks ago -we have just learned she didn't leave a will. Very surprising of her. She was never married and just has her sisters & nieces/nephews. So anything with title, etc is now in limbo. She had started one that her niece gave her to fill out but only did first couple of lines & put it in her safe. About the only thing she named was her RV was to go to a niece. She has a house, her car, golf cart (which dneighbor may be since there's no title to that), RV and who knows what else she may have had. She'd only retired in June. So glad ours is done. We had a codicil written to ours about a year or two ago. Carry that back & forth with us with other VIPapers.

Stopped raining out so maybe they're getting the cancer walk in minus umbrellas. Hope so.

Off to work on l**ts.

OKay - the ER probably gave him zofran... it is an amazing med gets rid of the n/v (nausea & vomitting) without the severe drowsiness of the other meds. I hope ya'll can get some sleep and that LO feels better soon.

MT - I don't know what the celebration was but we had fireworks here last night too.

Nancy - My DAunt/BFF use to have chickens and her coop was built so that the eggs rolled down to a drawer that they could harvest from without disturbing the chickens.

Kathryn - please remember easy does it and listen to your body.

DS13 and I are up but not about yet. I'm working on my caffeine level and we are watching the new "Return to Witch Mountain." I have gotten my homework done but I need to get something done today. Will be at a class for the Navy Mon-Thur which I am looking forward to not only for the content (Sexual Assault Victims Advocate) but also because the Reserve Center is less 1.5 miles from home. 8-)

Post & run -- busy day.

Just read at church: the story of Eldad & Medad from Numbers -- fun story to read, 'cause I could just imagine somebody saying, "Hey! What are they doing prophesying?" Now I'm off to score a couple of hockey games (tournament going on at our local rink), while DH takes the girls to a b'day party. I may have a bit of time this afternoon, but once we pick up the girls from the party, we need to head down to DD's hockey practice an hour early for a parents' meeting. Practice goes from 7 to 8, so we won't be home till 8:30, which means we'll have to record the season premiere of a show, which means I'll have to figure out again how to connect the DVD recorder to do so. (That'll take up some of that free time!)

Off to the rink! Have a great day, all -- I hope LO is all better soon!
