I am intrigued with that idea w/ subway sandwiches, OK. I think someone has shared a similar tactic at a WW meeting before.

I need a plan for the day:
X a.m. routine
X update li&ts in my notebook
X paid car insurance bill online; Wow, it is expensive with 2 teen drivers on it.
X helped dh with cable routing
X wiped down the bottom shelf and cubbies in my fridge
-perhaps revamp my cards?
X groc. store
X library
X gas the van
-laundry: towels and dgirls' sheets
-Hebrew study
-bathrooms need attention
-perhaps work in ds' room
-jog - dh is suggesting I go long today, 3.5 miles. We'll see. . . .
-supper: jambalaya (leftover from last week), corn on the cob, mixed veggies

I tweaked the menu for tonight; we can have the cornbread with chili tomorrow. I bought corn on the cob for tonight instead; the season must be winding down, and we haven't had it too much this summer.

Girls will be home soon.

Next:
-switch laundry
-collect towels (I may not get to the girls' sheets at this point; I may have to do that tomorrow
-work in bathrooms

My stomach is growling a bit. I was going to jog at 5 but might push that up by 30 minutes, except I can't legally park in the lot where we usually start until 5, I think. I might just risk it.

Hi! You ladies are the best dfriends ever. Thank you all so very much for the wonderful birthday wishes! We had a shower early this morning and there are clouds around with the sun peeking through in between -- but There is Sunshine in my soul today!

I am enjoying the discussion yesterday and today of Village history. It is also inspiring to hear how other have their system/routines set up. I do have to reorganized my 3x5 cards again. They are not individual as I don't have enough room for a lot, they have multi tasks.

((Scattered)). Hope you class is helpful.
Mystery, I'll bet your Nanaimo bars taste delicious. Good that your dfriend was able to tell you what happened to the chocolate.
Nancy, hope your chicks start hatching soon!
Aww, Lilac, feel better soon!
Dee, I know I don't drink enough water either. I once told my nurse that I didn't like the taste of water. She said she didn't either! So I have to force myself to sip a little bit at a time.

There's a lot of pages today again! Dh made a pineapple upside down cake for our dessert tonight and I have stuffed zucchini ready to go into the oven with spaghetti for supper. Think I will start the oven now and finish cuop while that's cooking. See you all again later!

Hi everyone! The sewing get together went well. All crate cover fabric was cut and doled out to the appropriate people. I am on the hook for sewing 2 crate covers by the end of October. This morning I saw a lawyer about getting child support reduced while I am not making any money. That should go ok. It is Girls' Night Out with DD10. We will eat Chinese, then probably do crafts at home. After she leaves, I have to get trash/recycles out, figure out tomorrow's lunch, shower, and if there is time, do something on the job search front. Because of the sewing party, I did not get to do errands yesterday, and I won't be able to today either. I only need to return a non-overdue library book and get some groceries. Tomorrow, I need to get blood work done, bummer! I will be camping with the Girl Scouts this weekend, so I had better examine my laundry sometime.

Happy Birthday to Sunny!

Harmony has jogged my memory enough to say now I'm sure helia and Harmony are right - Short Red Headed She was from Texas. It was SRHS who had no idea what good barbecue was and I had to help the poor thing understand that one barbecues a pig, not a cow, and the sauce requires vinegar. Bless her heart, she's probably still eating it all wrong.

I was in shock after driving so far to arrive at the time agreed upon at the hearing aid place and they were closed, with a clock on the door saying back at 9 a.m. I was NOT a happy camper. There were 3 employees there yesterday and I don't understand how I could have been told to come at that time but on arrival not one of them was there. I know they have my ddad's records and I thought that included our phone number. Then dd saw a Hobby Lobby sign, but sadly when we finally got into the odd parking lot we saw another sign saying "coming soon". Sigh. We ate at Sonic - a slice of life. Then back to our neck of the woods and decided to pick up ice cream for HRH for staying at home for us.

Excitement - a video was being made of a Golden Retriever who will "order" his ice cream treat at the window of this old-time style walk-up outdoor ice cream shop. Well, we hung back and watched as he "ordered" and the lady brought him the treat in a cup, which he took. All seemed well until he wolfed the entire thing, including the plastic cup!!! Yikes. His owner grabbed him and wrestled his mouth open - it was this huge DEAL. Wow. She was bitten at one point, completely by mistake of course. As he gasped to get another breath and swallow for sure, the cup appeared (barely) and I pointed it out. She grabbed and held on to the slobbery thing while the ice cream lady offered doggy bone treats and finally, by the skin of their teeth they kept him from swallowing that thing. He had it crumpled and shredded to something he would have easily swallowed with one more quick gulp and there was still enough trapped ice cream that he really wanted it. WHEW.

Back from the pickup run. Round trip time is shorter leaving later. I left sometime between 2:50 and 2:55 and got there at 3:20; the very first cars in the car line were just starting to move. Of course, round trip time was shortened slightly b/c today is Tuesday, and I don't have to drop off the other kids. The eldest of the other family in our car pool has music lessons after school on Tuesdays, so his dad picks him and his siblings up & takes them to the lesson. He'd be happy to take our girls, too, but they have no desire to wait around during the lesson, and it's nice to have some time in the car with just the 3 of us, though one of these days, I'm going to get DH to pick them up on a Tuesday -- he can do it if he leaves school right after classes finish.

dd "started" her math homework 15 minutes ago, though I don't think she's done more than one problem if that. OTOH, she's been finishing her snack, and I was willing to let her do that before starting. The timer's set for another :15 for her.

Got e-mail back from priest; he'll catch us on the next go-round.

I'm glad things went well with the lawyer, Elizabeth. Shame, though, that you have to pay a lawyer to show that you don't have $!

Laughing at Harriet's subtle distinction between Carolina and Texas barbeque.

Next up:
• flip wash
• clean up lunch if I haven't already (I don't remember....)
• figure out dinner
• tidy the couch & coffee table
• check on the playroom

Let's see if I can get those done before TOTH or if I'm moving as slowly as dd.

Goodness, Harriet, it's too bad the ice cream shop worker misunderstood the order. I'm sure the dog ordered his ice cream in a cone!

I'm awake after my nap. Had a complete meltdown before hand. That's two days in a row. I'm taking tomorrow completely off. (Have a meeting tonight that is a) important and b) I'm needed to make quorum.)

Off to start dinner now. It will be rushed because dh has a meeting in 45 minutes.

I can't wait for my dh to get home. The morning we left, I poured the ice from the icemaker into a small ice chest. Lo and behold, all the grinding mechanism came out. There was lots of plastic and metal pieces. I put it all in a container to deal with after the trip. Last night I checked the internet and could not get any kind of diagram to show where all those pieces belonged. I messed and messed with it last night and nothing. Dd2 and her dh bought a 5 year warranty when they bought this 2 years ago. Of course, dd2 has not transferred the warranty to us. I told her about it today and told her that it will cost over $120 if we have to replace it. She said she will go take care of that. OK, everybody, I am holding my breath. After I ate some delicious gelato, I went to Sears and found a model that was very similiar. I took the ice container off and looked it over. No wonder it didn't work last night. I was doing totally backwards but it was just a guessing game. I put it all together and then realized that I had to redo it so that these little doohickeys would fit in the bracket and hold it in place. I redid it and put it back where it belonged. I pour some ice in there and then tried to use it. Ice came out and I was so excited that I was able to fix it. I am hoping that dh doesn't suffer a heart attack over it. In the meantime, I am not telling dd2 that it is fixed.

I read yesterdays PWYC and enjoyed all the info about the various boards. I started reading the earlier versions in 1998. I didn't sign up until 2008. There are a lot of them that I wonder about. Peeper, Jussue, Gretchen, Trixie, Tildy to name a few. If any of them are lurking, I wish they would join us.

It is suppose to be warmer tomorrow, so I will mow then. After that it is suppose to really cool down for a few days.

Think that I will make spaghetti, salad and garlic bread for our supper. While it is cool, I want to fix chili and cornbread.

Dm had actually decided on Thursday that we should eat in our hometown instead of her previous idea. So they met us at the sports bar and it has outdoor seating with a lattice type covering for the top. I didn't have my wedding rings on because when we travel, my fingers tend to swell. She told me to be sure to wear my wedding rings and anniversary ring to my class reunion, so that none of my classmates would hit on me. We all laughed and laughed over that. She WAS serious. Dsisil and I assured her that we didn't have any classmates that either of us were interested in, then and now. Also, after seeing our classmates, dsisil and I decided that we weren't as wrinkled as we thought we were.

Wash flipped, lunch cleaned up. Was going to make lateDMIL's hamburger casserole for dinner, but I had neither cream of celery nor cream of mushroom soup. I could make white sauce & doctor it, but we have boxed mac & cheese, so we will be having cheeseburger macaroni. dd is still having conniptions over math. Must finish note to school psychologist; it's frustrating to have dd spend nearly half as much time crying over each problem as she spends doing it.

Water is on the boil for macaroni; hamburger is defrosting in microwave. Meanwhile, I will work on that tidying & checking.

Taking tomorrow completely off sounds like a good idea, Kathryn.

Congrats on your ice-machine triumph, Lilac!

:D HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUNNY! :D

I quickly glanced to cuop because I had my eyes dilated, reversal drops put in, but still can't see real well. I don't have wet-form AMD, but I have Vitreomacula Adhesion in the right eye, return in 6 weeks, so he can monitor me closely. I'm to still use the Amsler Grid, if there are any changes in it, return a.s.a.p. because it might mean surgery time around or for the retina. :?: He just said this is very serious business. :o So I'll take it as it comes. What else can you do? :?: Just hang in there. I don't feel upset or anxious or anything. I just feel relieved I'm not wet-form AMD, for some odd reason. Totally weird, isn't it?

My Today's Ta Da so far:
- I got ready and went to the eye clinic
- I interacted with others.
- I got a lot of writing to do's written in my fat little notebook, while waiting today.
- I made my next appt. and added it to my day planner and home calendar.
- I sorted the mail, started writing a letter.
- I had lunch, but haven't done much, since I can't see well.
- I changed my tops.
- I wrote my to do list before my appt.
- I put DH's paper plate from lunch in the garbage for him.
- I gave DH my lanyard with the post box keys on it so he could get the mail.
- I wrote in my journal, read my devotion and prayed for myself and others. (Before we left.)

Yesterday's Ta Da- preparing for today:
- I washed 4 loads of laundry and got it all put away
- I scrubbed the 3 toilets
- I put out hot spots
- Got out clothes for today and earrings.
- Worked on calendar reminders.

Lilac, I hope your ice-maker can be fixed. It sounds frustrating when things like this happen.

Kathryn, melt-downs are NOT fun! I get them, too! I missed my nap today. Glad you got yours!

MysteryWoman, It sounded like the car pool was more enjoyable for you today.

Harriet, I would have been so furious if I came back for the appt. and they had the door closed, too! I hope it works out better next time.

Elizabeth, Are you covering crates? What for? I must not have read about that yet. Are you covering crates for some function for the decor? I used to be a Brownie co-leader for 2 years.

Sunny, I hope you're having the BEST B-DAY EVER!!!! :D

Nancy, We should throw a chicks shower when they hatch and have ourselves a GR8 big party!

Lilac, GET WELL SOON! :!:

Dee, I got so dehydrated today, while at the eye clinic, so I asked for a glass of water. Was hoarse and so thirsty. Have you ever had Gatorade or Crystal Lite drinks? I'd rather have coffee, and I can take or leave the other. It's hard to drink enough water.

helia, I need to go back to my to do list to see what I'd planned, for after I got home, because I sure have forgotten! :ugeek: Your list is a lot longer than mine, but my appt. took a long time. Left about 10:45 a.m. and got home about 1:20 p.m. And when you're dilated, even though you get reversal drops, it still cuts into the day.

Scattered, is your headache gone now? I had 1 today, too. It's gone.

Waving to MT! Have a Super later afternoon and evening, Ladies! :D
