Quiet afternoon in the village today. I got home from grocery and gassing the car and the guy just came by to put the additional shelves in our laundry room. Now I can get those shelves loaded up. I've managed to empty two more boxes out of the garage this afternoon just puttering around. I have the new bookcase that dh finally got up on Sunday, and now the shelves in the laundry room.
I just made myself an iced coffee for a little boost. The guy hasn't called back about meeting me to go over the stuff that needs to be done at the other house. DH called earlier to check in, tho, and said that we have a week before we have to commit to taking care of it.
-reboot laundry
-finish putting groceries away (maybe the pantry should be the next space we "do" as it is a hot mess.)
-pay two medical bills
-order foundation online

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
NOW I'm off for my nap. Dh suggested we walk for the mail so I had some cheese and crackers, then he finished reading the paper, then I tidied up, looking for the checkbook, then I wrote a check while he looked for his shoes, then he called the car dealership to find out what's up and finally, 40 minutes later, we were out the door!
Got home after 45 minutes. That added 4000 steps to my total for the day so I'm now at 4900. I ate at least 3x as many calories as I burned because I bought a bag of chips.
The car dealership returned our call and it looks like our car will be there for Friday. They had to order one but one must have been on a ship because it is now in Toronto, waiting to be shipped to Brockville (a 3 hour drive.) It is the colour (pale, sky blue) we wanted. YAY!
We'll probably pick it up on Saturday. I'll call the insurance this evening to see what they need from us to do so, since Monday is a holiday. I don't have the VIN for the car yet. If we can't get it Saturday, we have to wait until Thursday next week because our week is very full. Friday dh leaves for Poland so it is October 6 or 11 or they'll have to wait until the 23rd. In the meantime, I'll start cleaning out the car tomorrow. I've got stuff tucked all over the place in it so that will be quite the job.

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Is it supposed to be cold there tomorrow too, Kathryn? I think 50's here. It's very nice, but gray, today. Decided I'd better get Christmas gifts wrapped that were in dd's MH while it was warm today. I'm sure there'll be other warmish days, but there's no heat in there. Today was perfect. Even had to take off my jacket inside. Got all the gifts wrapped & listed. Now to put them in the computer. Need to pick up some gift bags for little things. Then I'll see if I can do a bit more shopping before we leave. Want to take everything to the 2 DSs before we leave -don't want to ship any more than we have to. Inevitably we find something that's 'just right' for someone and have to ship that from FL. Am going to start looking on A mazon to see what I can find for the kids especially. Have free shipping and (sneaky me) anything shipped to either house will have to be wrapped by DDILs.
Last year I gave each family certificates for a hotel/water park fees. Not sure DS-R's family has used theirs yet, but DDIL#2 took their kids shortly before dd left for FL so she was able to go spend the day with dgs7.
Oh, oh this RV is beginning to ooze because I have things in here that need to be packed. Maybe I'll work on that tonight while x factor is on. At least I THINK it's on. Know the debate is on, but know we won't be watching that.
DH has a breakfast tomorrow morning on the other side of the city (about 40 miles). I looked up today to see if there was a W mart near there. Sounds like restaurant is around 2100 and W mart about 1900 on the same road. Almost think I'll try to go with dh -if I can get around early enough -drop him off and I'll get my shopping done and pick him up again. Will sure use a lot less gas that way.
DH has 2 RV's to winterize tonight so expect dinner to be quite late. I have a lot of chicken in the freezer so have some breasts marinating and am going to try grilling them in my micro cooker. Trying to use up as many groceries as possible.
I do have hamburg in there from early summer and makins' for chili so will do that when it turns a little cool this week. Also have a dish of barbecued beef and some rolls.

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
I almost forgot I need to turn the TV on so the news comes on at 5. Our local bank (which is in a really small town) was robbed this morning by a female. Want to see if they have any updates. And to think I was going to go there this morning -just about that time. Glad I didn't.

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
I'm getting ready to take a nap. DH just returned from lunch with his DFriend, he's taking garbage up now, and he brought the mail home. No letters; all just junk.
Ta Da is:
- downloaded free books of short story anthologies
- defragmented the laptop
- worked a little bit on a short story by hnd
- wrote ARC donation pick-up date on the calendar.
- wrote 2 ARC paper signs and taped them to the donation bags, although I've written on the bags themselves. Never hurts to label them more, just in case.
- I got out beanie yarns
- loaded the DW
- dumped trash
- set dawn simulator
- walked 1/2 hour
- ran an anti-virus scan
- ran an anti-spyware scan
- deleted temporary files, cookies, and history
- ate a healthy lunch
- started a grson-18-month Christmas hat, am on row 2, but Gma (me) is too tired and needs a nap now.
Enjoy your nap, Kathryn.
Waving hello to scattered, helia and OKay and Twins' Mom.
Dee, That's terrible the bank got robbed!
Have a Happy Wed. Afternoon, Villagers!

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Good afternoon everyone! Last night was Girls' Night Out with DD10. We ate Chinese then went to my house to build a bat house (Halloween decoration), then to the park to swing, then watched a movie. I did look through the classifieds from Sunday for a job lead and only found one. The job they advertised, I don't have the qualifications for, but I can look at their website and apply for something similiar. This morning I got bloodwork done and sent a message to the lawyer.
Tonight's plan is: grocery store and put away, Bible study at church at 6:15, pay a bill, update Quicken, transfer money, look at job lead, and if time sew on the crate cover.
For those who were curious about the crate covers: These are sheets that cover cat crates at the adoption clinics. Their purpose is to help the cats stay calm. Being exposed in a cage upsets most cats. We are making lighter color ones because we have so many black cats and they show better in yellow than purple (the colors of our org). They are simple rectangles with a border on the side facing the potential adopters.

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
I had the dickens of a time scanning the medical bills I was paying. Scanner was temperamental, then laptop, then distracted outside throwing a b.a.l.l. for Moses. I was actually trying to fold the lol that I took out of the dryer and saw Macs go flying by the window, so went out to be sure Macs hadn't gone across the invisible fence.
This time:
-fold the lol that's on the bed
-start a lol of delicates?
-sweep up the floors, lots of dirt coming in on ddogs furry feet
-15 minutes of putting away in laundry room

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Did the last 3. I now have a mammogram appt. set up for next week. Also, paid online bills earlier, filed receipts, and ordered a wedding present for dfriends getting married on Saturday.
Happy occasion - they're both in their 50s. It is his first marriage.
Next:
-attack 2 cobweb spots on outside windows
-make cornbread
-see what I can tidy up in living areas.

Quick response to
scattered -- no, ds would not be mortified, I think ds is beyond concern w/these notes now... he just wants me off his back... I just hope ddil is more ticked at HIM for not helping than she is at ME for taking over...
But w/three people trying to take over ME, now, (dmom, dmil, and dh) and telling ME to just write them all... SHEESH.
And Mystery, yes, dsisil & I wrote all the thank yous for dmil after dfil's funeral. But I didn't really mind helping out with that for a 90 year old grieving widow.
OTOH, a couple of 20-something able-bodied new parents... that's another matter.
Maybe I can do the addresses and get them moving.
I am "on the road again..." and will see y'all Saturday or Sunday.
DS is taking ddil & dgs to her parents and they'll get to visit there while we are at the festival. Very happy to hear this.
