Yesterday I made it my focus to go through a bin of jewelry (rarely worn) that I've been taking back and forth. Took out only what I might use while we're in FL. But that all presented a new problem for me. Realized an emerald/diamond ring dh bought for me in Thailand was not there, nor was the special necklace (with dgks birthstones) he gave me for our anniversary 4 years ago. Every time I awoke during the night I was thinking, "where can those BE?" I'm trying to not 'worry' about it and figure they'll just show up -maybe even in FL.

Today I'm making it my focus to go through 2 travel bins of postal/banking/ computer stuff. Want to thin it down to taking just 1 bin. Trying my level best to get our 'take' stuff really downsized. Been staging in our living room so have just room enough for me to sit on the couch and 1 recliner empty. Last year I was stacking everything in dd's MH and it was just too much running back and forth. I have at the most, 21 days until we leave so am trying to do something every day, while maintaining in here. I also have to figure out where everything is so when dh calls me next spring, asking: "Do you remember where?" I'll be able to answer. Am considering opening everything and snapping pictures to help me remember!
still very bittersweet.
Very good way to put it, Kathryn. My sentiments also. THinking and praying for you and your family, dHarriet.

(((Harriet))) - Hugs to you and yours, I'm sorry for your loss.

(((Dee))) - I hope you find your jewelry.

(((Okay))) - I know how frustrating the internet yoyo can be, I hope everything goes okay with your DMom.

Elly - Shaving legs up

My neighbors are all really good people and we especially come together when we have a crisis.

I have to get moving... have 7 pages to write before I leave for work in less than 4 hours.

Spent about 25 minutes going through a basket in my 'corner' cupboard with all sorts of office/bank/computer stuff. Sorted that all out -put check books to go with us to one side. Now I'll get out the 2 bins I was going to originally sort -guess this was a 'bonus'. :? Found several new cards I'd bought earlier in the summer -will put them together with other new cards -ya' think? I'm getting better & better at putting 'like' things together. I DID learn something from Sesame Street! Think I have a 3rd bin in one of the cabinets that I think I'll sort along with the other 2. Have a bunch of no longer used electronics from the basket I sorted -old phones etc. I'm sure I can recycle those somewhere.

I am getting very hungry and trying to wait for noon time meal. Just had a cup of low-cal juice hoping that'll stave off hunger pangs for a short time. Will get dinner warming in the microwave on slow speed very shortly. Hoping dh takes time to eat today.

Our neighbors are essentially great -though somewhat transient. We always get new ones to some degree once or twice a year. Then there are some who have been neighbors for several years. One thing about living in this 'community', it becomes very close. When our dShelley passed away 3 years ago, it was this community that was our strongest support (as well as our village in SHEville). We have commented before that living where we did in a small 4-corners, there were some of us who were fairly close, but living here, practically everyone knows everyone else and the 'long-timers' have become very close. We have been in this same spot since 2004 and most of our immediate neighbors have been too. There are nearly 200 permanent sites and dh knows just about everyone and vice versa!

Back indoors and feeling refreshed.

DGS17 txt me several time while I was outdoors. He is home from school today and wanted to chat. When he found out I was going to be in town (with Great Gma), he asked if we could bring him some food. Typical teenage male - always hungry. I'll take him something to eat on our way to doc office.

I just made the a throw together meal that is soooo good it ought to be illegal. :D Chunks of bacon, onion, apple, jalapeno pepper sauteed then topped with freshly picked & diced mustard greens. The combination of flavors (sweet and spicy) are unbelievable good!

YEAH!!! Elly is back!! I'm glad you had a good trip! Welcome HOME!

I think my washer is dying. I kept hearing noises after I thought the washer had stopped. (This means I'm admitting to not going to the washer right after my last post!)

Turns out it stopped mid cycle and there was a 'burn' smell. It is front loading so even when I turned the dial to the end position it was locked. Finally ran another cycle's final spin cycle. That worked but the spin wouldn't stop (increasing the smell in the room.) So I advanced it more, it finished the cycle and the clothes are free! Except I'm really not sure they went through a rinse cycle. I took one piece and rinses it in the sink looking for suds and didn't find any but then again a front loading machine uses low sudsy detergent. When I hung the clothes up (inside because its got cloudy) they smelled of soap more strongly than I usually note.

I'm hoping it is just the timer on the unit since the spin seemed to work fine on its own. I'll do an internet search but I figure the spin just kept going and going until the system overheated and shut down on its own.

We've had less dramatic stuff happen in the past (this is the third, and worst, incident) and it worked fine after a break, so I'm reluctant to call for something that is intermittent.

Kathryn, let's hope your machine fixed itself.

Nice catch on the book, no I didn't know.

Rats! I missed the Duck show! Most likely it'll be on a couple times this week, or right before the new show next time.

Sigh...so sorry about all the news. (Harriet) and at OKay's school, and Nancy's neighborhood. Bad news comes in threes, right?

Yep, my new doctors' office is very inefficient. They appear to be out of space, not enough help, too many patients. Yay, I took my first dose today, but I don't feel any different. Gotta give it time I guess. Plus DGD is zapping my strength. Lots of up and down. She's potty training. I think she sneaked on one me by telling me chocolate- she gets 2 M&M's if she leaves p.. in the potty...and the thimble full from earlier was all I saw when I checked, but she ran back here to the office to tell me. Crafty kid!

(((Harriet and family))) I am sorry to hear about your aunt.

Dee, do you remember the last time you saw the necklace and ring? If you do, that would help you decide if they were still in Florida.

Elly, so glad to see that you are safely home and had a great trip.

I too, watched N ashville last night. It seemed to me that it really depicts just how hard it is to stay on top in the music industry and how hard it is to have a "normal" family life when you are on top. We were just in N ashville a year ago. I loved seeing the sights again.

Well dgd16s blood test was negative for bacteria, so a sonogram has been scheduled for the 18th. Dgd16 thinks she needs to stay home until the sonogram. Dd2 told her that there are pregnant women that have to wait until after delivery for the surgery and she just can't put her life on hold. I hadn't heard from dd2 this morning, so I called to ask her if she had heard from the dr. office yet. Dd2 is home sick. She said she had thrown up 8 times in less than 9 hours. So she is wondering if dgd16 just has a really bad stomach bug. Dd2 is convinced that dgd16 is a hypochondriac and makes her mom get her a dr. appt for every ache and pain. If her mom doesn't then she thinks dd2 doesn't care about her. Now I am hoping that I don't get sick, since I have been around both of them.

So I better get the mowing done today. I know this is TMI but I am going to keep the toilets sparkling, so that I hopefully won't need them for that purpose.

Better eat some lunch and get busy.................

Good morning y'all...

I've been up since 5:30 but chose to drink coffee and watch a bit of tv before starting my day. I have a list of errands I need to run today. The weather is quickly changing, and we are expecting 40 mph winds and rain by tonight. The cold front is moving in and there is talk that our high will be in the upper 70's tomorrow.....YIPPIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally finished my closet...shared with Sweetie. I worked on it for hours and have 4 huge bags for GW to prove it. Had to get tires for my suv yesterday so I will load it up in a minute and take all my treasures to GW. I also have a W Watchers meeting to attend. They have moved the meeting area from one place to another since the last time I was there, so I need to allow time to find the new place. Also need to put my umbrella in the car before I go :D

Sweetie and I went to the Win co grocery store that is new in town the other day. It is a large warehouse type store...bins and rows of food. Sweetie didn't like it, but I must say the meat and produce departments had the best prices in town. Not a place I would want to go on the weekend, but the prices there were better than C osco's. I'll need to figure out the best day of the week to go. Its a bit farther than my other stores, but I think it will be worth the drive.

Lucylee...just give the test and quit worrying about it...you know most of them won't study for it anyway ;)

Huge hugs to you and your family Harriet...

Waving to everyone else...gotta go cook something for Sweetie before I go...he just came in and asked...Cy'all later

(((((Harriet))))) & (((((Family))))) So sorry for your loss.

Cowinkie, Glad you finished your closet. I finished mine, too, and a huge donation was picked up by ARC this morning.

Dee, I hope you find your jewelry.

Elly, Glad you're safe and are at home, with memories of a good trip.

Harmony, Sorry you missed the Duck Show.

Kathryn, I hope your washer doesn't die.

OKay, I laughed at the food and DGS17 texting you several times.

Waving to Scattered.

I got my shingles vaccination yesterday, have the headache from it, which can be a side effect for 2 days, slept terrible with nightmares, so don't feel rested today.

My PODA:
- To use my cards
- To go by my to do lists
- To work on a ta da list
- Remember to do Baby Steps
- To remember, Progress, not Perfection
- To remember to pace between activity and rest today.

Friday brings long-awaited rain after 80 dry days of no rain here. We broke an 1891 record for dry days in a row.
