I had Mt. Washmore the other day, Mystery, and even though I got a lot done with big loads like linens and jeans, by evening I still had 5 small loads (new or bright or special wash instructions) left in the big "sort" on my bed, so I took a shirt from each and stuffed it with the rest in that mini-load. I placed them all in one laundry basket to get to as I could. I had commented here that they looked like 5 eggs in a nest.

Oh my! I've been sitting here cuop and suddenly realized that I meant to do dishes while my LOL finishes twirling in the dryer (in the laundry room). Others may be waiting so need to be sure I'm up there when it finishes (I always am, but completely got distracted.) Guess I better get at those dishes before I create more 'mayhem' here.

I did quite a bit of work last night to prevent Monday mayhem here at home. At work they are having water problems flooding from rains we have here the plant is in a low spot so h. went in to work to help deal with that for a few hours at least today. He took a lunch with him.

Hen pen is quite wet even under the roof that was a bit disappointing sigh oh well they have the roost. I've fed them.

54*-72* Today's temps. 57* out here this a.m.
I slept well rain does that.

I have a granny duty in a bit.
I worked quite a bit on the white fuzzy child's size prayer shawl and have it 1/3 of the way done now.

I love coming here before I plan my day it get ideas like the crockpot I've gotten stuff out for some chicken soup.

Ah yes - a bit of mayhem here. Several "discussions" with DH as he brings in one small thing in one hand from MH vs the baskets I have waiting for him to carry. Now he has drug (dragged?) out things and is cooking his breakfast - he NEVER eats breakfast - so what's with this?

Off to bring in the dirty clothes and start the laundry twins twirling.

The washer worked just fine. No burnt smell in the laundry room after the spin cycle. So that load is on the drying rack in the spare bedroom. I vacuumed first, so the upstairs is back to par.

Read the newspapers while I ate breakfast. There were two bundles on the driveway in different spots but I think they were both tossed there this morning because the Saturday paper was next to the garage door and I would have seen it if it had been there Saturday afternoon or evening. Besides, neither were wet and it rained last night.

Put on boots (I'm in slippers and boots are all that are by the door) to bring in the garbage cans but discovered the cans were still full, just knocked over by the wind. A truck just went by so I'll go out again in a moment. It is lovely and warm out and so I might take 15 minutes to winterize one garden. I don't have to do them at once, one at a time is ok too.

But first I'll wind the clocks and water the indoor plants. That will knock off a number of items from my PODA.

Finished the laundry -it's folded but not put away. I'll have dh help me remake the bed later today whenever he has time. Know he's winterizing one RV today and he's gone to the dentist right now. Also has fire dept. meeting at 7. Had 2 loads left so felt pretty good. Next trip will be to the laundromat in town. :( Have a little over 2 weeks left here so probably a couple of trips.

Got the dishes done. Now to try spiffing in here a little. Things are a little discombobulated after being sick for a few days. Kudos to Kathryn & Harmony for getting so much done while they've been laid low.

Still trying to figure a route to go south and be able to do something. Since we don't go until about November 1st, a lot of things are closed down. DH had thought about going to TN to Gatlinburg, but there's just not that much (I don't think) at that time of year, at least from my browsings.

Good morning, villagers ~
Bzzzzz! Another busy bee reporting in.

Spent another 4 hours at the library yesterday afternoon preparing for this Saturday's event. Came home so exhausted that we had leftovers for supper and then I zoned out most of the evening. Did a load of laundry, watched 1 short TV show, and read a couple of blogs.

DH is taking a vacation day today so did not set his alarm. I rolled out of bed an hour later than usual, and hit the ground running.

State taxes are finished and waiting for DH's signature.
Responded to several Emails.
Dishes are soaking.
Alternating between financial reports for sewing group and library group.

Ignored 5 political phone messages. 5 already and it's only 11 AM!
I decided that even though the political calls would stop if we voted early, I want to wait and vote in person. One of the ladies in the library group works at the polling place for every election, and it will be good PR if I chat with her there and get my "I voted" sticker to wear the rest of the day.

I need to tidy my stack of library friends financial files and then get ready to run errands. Must go to post office, make a deposit at the library's bank, and stop by city hall. I was told in a round-about way that state auditors are in town and want to see the files today -- but no one has contacted me directly to make an appointment. Since I just started this volunteer job, all I can do is show them what I was given last month and the changes/updates I'm making.

Dh and I have not made it to a movie theater yet. I don't know what else he has planned for today. Looks like the rain is over and he might want to work in the yard.

Harriet ~ You may need some supersecret emergency cookie supplies. Would your DDad like graham crackers and a tiny tub of cream cheese or chocolate frosting? Seal them in a box and put in the freezer.
Good job hatching those laundry eggs. 1 at a time!

Emptynester ~ Sounds like you're glad to be back to your winter home. Maybe your DH will have energy for carrying after he has some protein for breakfast.

Dee ~ Whoa, feels like you just mentioned need to do laundry today and now it's alreay done. WTG!

Blessedw2 ~ Hope you are able to keep a mayhem-free zone around you! :)

Good afternoon, friends!

1 lol going, bedsheets changed, but the real accomplishment is that I finally have ordered filters for the refrigerator. Have been here almost a year and have not been able to use filtered water feature on fridge. Today I had the bright idea to look at the old filter and see exactly what was needed. Have ordered online!! Now that that hurdle has been jumped, the sky is the limit!
