Okay, I was so sorry to see that your dbs surgery was a failure.

Dh is home. He didn't have to deal with wind until 40 miles west of here.

(OKay) so very sorry for DBro's bad news. Do you know why it was a failure? Dr. has told DH he needs his replaced, probably both of them. But for now he has strength just at chest height right in front of him, so he tries to work in that space. I was just so sorry to read that. We are so blessed that DH does not have much pain in his. It makes no sense why, just God's grace I guess (thank you, thank you, thank you).

Dee, Munchkin and dog stay here another 3 1/2 days, you might say 4 by the time dd & DSiL leave with them. I am counting the days!DD1 went overseas with her DH; he goes for work often and had frequent flyer miles. So she got to see Florence, Rome and sent back pics of Sistine (sp?) chapel etc. I agreed to watch DGD and keep the dog. My 2 DGSs are with their Dad.

Sadie, I'd been wondering how you and your family were doing. Was glad to read of positive progress, sorry you had a bit of pain too, though.

Sunny, I wish you could see how cute DGD is. She is Miss Personality!
Harriet, I'm sorry you had another tough day. I have no helpful advice to offer.

We try to bleach our shower when we know we'll be out for a few hours and we run the exhaust fan. Then we don't go in there for a few more hours. I hate the smell too.

Thank you OKay for nice words. Nice to read. I'm sorry LO is sick again. Poor little guy.

We did okay today. I rested for about an hour but never slept. Otherwise I was on my feet continually. After dinner I took baby in stroller and dog around the block (that's the only way dumb dog will go) and it was so hot and muggy, it was a bit too much for DGD. She helped me bring the wash in, taking ever so long to get each sock off the rack and into the basket. We had popcorn, and I did dishes and lunches and garbage patrol. HUGE toy pickup. My whole house is sticky. I got the sticky off her and me and that's enough for today.

And, while I was working away in the kitchen, I happened to think that a few weeks ago I couldn't even do the dishes for us at night most of the time, I was that tired. So there must be some improvement.

I'm back at the hotel with dh in tow. His suitcase may get here very late tomorrow night or more likely on Saturday morning. Dh has the paperwork. I knew to ask how much we can spend on things for him and for a personal care kit, which has an undershirt, laundry soap (good thing cuz dh's is in his checked bag), tooth paste/brush, hair brush/comb and shaving stuff. Plus an apology note.

We'll have to do laundry tonight, dh has been wearing these things for 24 hours now. At least they are nice clothes so if things don't show up by the dinner on Saturday night, he'll be appropriately dressed.

Lufthansa gave him a 50 euro credit from the on board duty free so he bought some powered USP thingy (that was because his entertainment system didn't work on the 8.5 hour flight.) So he's getting lots of free stuff! (He just demonstrated the thingy to me and I now realize it was an excellent choice, and means I can pack one less adapter when I'm traveling with him.

I need his suitcase to come before we leave NS because I don't have room for anything extra in my bag and I hope to buy stuff while I'm here. I've already bought an extension cord.

We went to add dh to the car rental contract and the Hertz rep asked how I like the Fiesta. I hated it and told him so (but it did have satellite radio which I really like!) It was too small, rough ride, jackrabbit accelerator, weird inside lights which made night-time highway lane changes hard because I couldn't see the side mirrors) the seat fit me very badly and I couldn't adjust it. He said he could upgrade me to a nice Volvo for another $100 (he said $15 per day but with taxes and 5 days it adds $100) and neither dh nor I could decide (dh has been up 24 hours and I'm just not good with decisions these days.)

I finally said yes because my uncle is a car guy and I couldn't imagine taking him to his birthday dinner in the Fiesta. Boy am I glad I did! The ride back to the hotel was wonderful. The car is hard to park in the garage, and noisy because it has a proximity warning and there's no way to park it without setting off the warning. My first attempt still had me on the line. Finally we decided to try a slightly largely spot and dh parked it (alarms going off still.)

I had been anxious to get dh added to the rental contract so I hand the driving of the Fiesta over to him but now I'm disappointed I have to share this new car with him! It fits me even better than our new car. Support everywhere I want it and a very comfortable driving position.

Every once in a while we treat ourselves to a nice rental car (that's how Harriet's dd(then)7 got to ride in a convertible, but most of the time we rent the cheapest.

Time for me to get my dh to take his clothes off. Maybe if I take mine off he'll get the idea!
