I am up and d2s, I brought my laundry and the bathroom laundry down when I came down and then picked up trash and dishes on my way too the Kitchen. This may not seem like much but it is a big step for me, I was patting my back on the way to the kitchen. I had enough cold coffee in the pot for a cup while the pot brewed. Need to figure out my PODA and get another cuppa.

Good morning!

I have a joy to report...DS called last night and reported that thank you notes are done and will be in the mail by Friday! These are for their wedding 4 months ago...not bad.

Wondering if Dove has checked in since Sandy hit? We fared very well here, just had some water blow in under a door. Seventy mile an hour winds will do that...I guess. We never lost power. I felt very decadent sitting watching "Revolution" (about a 15-year blackout) while the storm blasted away outside.

Need to check J & C. Haven't been over there for a while...

Good Morning!

PRAISE! LO fever disappeared 10 hours ago and hasn't returned. He isn't feeling his best, but he went to school this morning. I going to think positive and plan on him still be able to have surgery in 45 hours.

No word from lawyer about yesterday court meeting with judge. I talked to paralegal but she didn't know anything. Drumming fingers and waiting for the lawyer to have a break so she can let us know something.......

I've decided to restructure my Onenote journal. It means a complete reorganization of the sections, pages and subpages. I think the end result will have huge payback and will ultimately be well worth the time doing it. However right now I'm in the nuts-bolts part of the project.... setting new pages up and moving all the old pages to their new sections. Tedious and time consuming.....

Was up way too late last night, though I slept on the couch for a bit until the wild noises on the TV woke me when O. was making his speech. We voted in the 3-sided booth with pencil and 2-page ballot and entered them into a machine (computer?) on the way out. I have not checked to see what my state did, it was too close to call last night.

Out early this AM to help DH measure some stuff on jobsite. Interesting work with transit, holding the stick and measure, marking grades. @$%&*(%# guy we hired to do this job has been putting us off forever, so we now have to do it ourselves. Hmmph...get to keep the money, too.

In the middle of paperwork, paying a few bills that usually take a long time to do...and did a statement.... gee we have a bunch of them piled up waiting for payments. sigh......

OKay, glad LO is doing better. What do you use the journal for?

Thanks for a great opening, Twins' Mom.

I ran computer updates this morning and it seemed to take a really long time. Hopefully they were the helpful kind. I'm still on an older computer running Windows XP and I like it. DH mentioned the other day that I might be able to eke out more time before having to buy a new computer if this CPU is not maxed out with RAM. Definitely something to investigate.

I enjoyed going to vote in person yesterday afternoon. I know several of the precinct workers and happened to go at a time without a long line, so they were able to chat a couple of minutes. They said they had been swamped when they first opened, and then steady all day. Good news.

Sewing group meeting last night was fun after we got through the boring required business part. Five members showed quick ideas for holiday decorations and gifts. I'll put more description over in AC&N.

Today's goals:
1) Find stuff to fill the recycle bin. The trash bin is already full.

2) I received an Email with questions from a state auditor about the Friends of the Library files. Must give that some time.

3) It looks pretty gloomy outside. I think maybe some kind of chicken soup for supper.

4) Follow up paperwork from last night's sewing group meeting. Start pulling together stuff for the newsletter.

5) Schedule lunch with friend Z on Friday.

AHA!! Space cleared and table set up for sewing machine. Found craft lamp to use there and was able to download manual (for almost the same machine) on the web. Printed the pages I needed.

Next up is to find material, thread, scissors, and assorted other tools I need.

DH goes back to Cardio Doc for 6 month check up at 1.

RE: OneNote use
I use the journal section of Onenote to capture my thoughts, daily doings, OMM items, etc. I have other sections set up for other uses (projects, COI, Goals, recipes)
In the past, I have filed my daily ramblings/journals by year-month-date. However, I discovered it is too time consuming to go back and read a year worth of ramblings. I want to quickly scan by date ( Nov 7th) to see what happened/was important to me on in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, etc. I got this idea from seeing a paper diary/journal that allowed recording 5 years on one page. I'm copying that format except I'm removing the 5 year limit the paper journal has and making it digital so it is searchable. A big plus is this searchable journal is always with me (smartphone).
