Satisfying Saturday

Post by scattered »

Not really sure if it will be a satisfying Saturday, but I am being optimistic.

Came home last night and went directly to bed, but woke up 2 hours later due to my allergies (able to go back to bed 1 hr later :) ) which are still bugging me this morning. Need to vacuum my filters and see if that doesn't help.

Have a lot I want/need to do this weekend put first must go to work for 8 hours.

Oooooh, I'm hoping for a satisfying Saturday too! Just back from dropping dh at airport for trip - he will be back on Tuesday evening. I need to go to work today for awhile and I should go to a temple event tonight - or at least make an appearance for a bit.

Dh and I had a very, very nice dinner out last night. Nice restaurant, lovely view of the river and wonderful food, with leftovers for today too.

I am going to read the paper, then might go back to sleep for awhile. I was up at the normal weekday getting up time this morning, instead of the weekend sleep in.

I'm up and at it after an awful night. I've moved onto the coughing stage of this cold.

I've made the bed and am starting lay out my clothes for the trip. I only need to changes of clothing. Because we are in the car, I can take my dress boots and skirt. I've decided not to wear black to the memorial service because I'm pretty sure our friend would not have wanted that. So it will be my 'gypsy' skirt as dh called (black with a lot of embroidery along the bottom) with a red sweater. I'll take a black top too in case it is really, really, hot tomorrow but it should be just fine for sweater and no coat.

I sent a note to my Irish friend (who was also on the same committee as dh for years and came to our city last year for a meeting and stayed at the house) to update her on a child she had prayed for from our church. Made the comment that dh and I were going to the memorial service for our friend's wife and she had no idea she had died. I'm guessing dh didn't do a blanket announcement to the committee. Not sure if he should have or not, but our friend was chair of the committee, 'father' of the technology (and another technology that you all use daily) and a mentor to so many that I feel everyone would care and should know. Maybe it is just a girl thing.

I'm on the treadmill for a few more minutes and then off to s2s. The window of the exercise room needs recleaning now that I can see it in the sun. They say you shouldn't clean windows in sunlight but how else do you know how bad a job you are doing?!

Good Morning!

I was up/down all through the night. At 3:30am I got up with LO (nauseous & diarrhea). After we got through that, I put him in the bathtub while I got things cleaned up. He was back asleep by 5:30am. I stayed up to go through the mountain of paperwork.

I saw a post on FB about DNephew's shower today.... :o :shock: :shock: :shock: which reminded me I faintly remember receiving an invitation.....but it promptly became buried in the paperwork pile. Arggghhh! So now I'm scrambling to get a present bought and delivered by noon. I won't stay the whole time (4 hour long baby shower?!? Really?) but want to make a showing.

I have today's meals planned and logged to know exactly how many calories, carbs, fat, protein, etc etc. All I have to do is follow-the-plan. Follow...the...plan (repeating it over and over in my head).

Today I will be cooking for tomorrow's thanksgiving meal at church. I'm planning to utilization 3 crockpots to make easier to carry and keeping food warm.

please feel better d kathryn
d ok have fun at the baby shower

I know how that feels... I am embarrassed to say I have items pinned to my front door with my calendar (I have double doors in front) and when people come I take it down :oops: Like I have a note: to fill out dd's doctor forms, papers for next week, and I try to remember to mark off each day as it goes by and look ahead. It's the only way I remember 8-) It also includes embarrassed to say cards for birthday I tape there until I can mail it for that month. :oops: I have to have visual reminders ;)

Good morning!

I have finished the minutes from the moms group steering comm. meeting yesterday, sent them off, sent off other moms group organizational emails, and have had bfast - a banana and lots of tea. Not together. ;)

I have no plan for dinner tonight, but I do have leftovers in my freezer and Whole Foods almost next door.

I did not jog yesterday, so I need to do that today. Also, I think dfriend will be coming over at some point to "hang out" with us. And I have to have SS prepped. It is almost more difficult to prep for a kids' class than an adult class. Though, I remember this lesson, and it is fun and it sounds like there will be plenty to do. The last thing one wants with a group of kids is to run out of things for them to do. . . . .I will need to know my material by heart so I'm not always looking at notes.

Up and about here, I slept very deeply for awhile and read some too. I need to take ddogs on their walk next.

Last night I found the washing machine had a SUD error message and I finally just turned it off....I need to deal with wet stuff in there that hasn't been spun out.

So I guess those are the first two things to deal with. I'm looking at going to work late this afternoon, and then I'll stay downtown and walk from my office for the temple event.

Good morning, villagers ~

Cowinkie ~ I loved the Sweetie & Willis story. Willis was surely confused about why Sweetie wanted to take a nap under the car, but willing to go along with him. :)

Blessedw2 ~ I think your calendar-on-the-front-door sounds very sensible & practical.

CI:
Successful errand day yesterday. Not perfect, because I forgot my grocery shopping list at home so missed a few things, but nothing urgent. Reward of meeting a friend for coffee. I hadn't seen her for several weeks so it was fun to catch up on her news.

Tried to be frugal and just order regular coffee at S*bucks. They supposedly made a fresh pot for me, but it tasted really foul. I don't consider myself a coffee snob, but I think this was the first time ever that I didn't bother to ask for a refill. :P

We've been invited to soup supper with the in-laws tonight, and I told DH he can't skip out of this one because it's been too long since we've seen DMIL. Not sure who all will be there but I have the impression it will be a crowd. Hostess asked us to bring an appetizer so we'll be taking cheese & fruit & dark chocolate.

Since there will be waaaaay too much food available tonight, we'll just have a small salad for lunch.

I've already done laundry and other chores this morning. Have also checked FB and answered some Emails.
We will need to get on the road around 3:45 so before then I need to:
* clear hot spots
* finish putting away groceries
* check friend's blog
* research music question for DMom
* fix lunch
* 1 hour declutter
* 1/2 hour cookbook project
* cut fruit & slice cheese
* hair & makeup
* remember to take wine
