Home now. Ready for nap.

Drive up (50 minutes on the nose) was in rain and misty fog until we arrived in the little town near the ski hill. It started to snow at that point and was snowing hard the whole morning and into the afternoon once we were back in the city. Not called for in the forecast until tonight so that came as a surprise.

Ds did fine on his tour of the complex and orientation. But he's tired (and a bit whiny now.)

I got just over 1/3 of the way through the cards and newsletters. Mis-counted what I needed so ended up short on the newsletters and hadn't taken the invitations to the Boxing Day party so stopped work on the cards since they go into most of the local cards I send.

I got quicken updated, most of the charitable contributions made, and the grocery list made up. Didn't even start devotions, Sunday school lesson or preaching prep and prayer writing.

After we left the hill we drove to ds's neighbourhood, had lunch at the Tim Horton's next to his place, dropped off the excess laundry that was at my house and picked up a few other things he needed.

Hit two grocery stores and then came home. It is barely snowing here and nothing on the ground. At the ski hill over 2" accumulated in the morning and in the city about 1" is down.

Finished another round, and her room is almost presentable. I have three or four garbage bags sorted for laundry, a bag of trash and a goodwill bag. I need to clean up in the hall and on the stairs (and down here where I put some things over the banister) but that will be next round.

I am sweating like crazy - probably need to get back on the HRT  and my stomach is queasy. I'll start finishing up at :15 after and work until I feel things are back in order from the purge of her room, and then be done for awhile. DH should be here soon. He mentioned going to a holiday party tonight but I may be too tired/hot/sweaty/queasy.

Wow, long nap... woke up just in time to see Navy win the game! :D

DS13 is whining about dinner and I am feeling hung-over from my nap on the couch. Really should have gone to my bed rather then napping on the couch in front of the TV. Need to wake up and get dinner going.

I'm tired, but had a wonderful day. We didn't get to do all activities planned, but we gave it a good effort.

** Built wooden gingerbread house (with no owies!)
** bought a few groceries & filled car up with gas
** everyone helped prepare lunch and enjoyed eating together.
** DGS's and GF climbed/jumped/ran across hay bales and trampoline
** visited DParents
** watched movie (Red Dawn)
** went to small town parade. It was held after dark so all the floats & horses had battery powered Christmas lights. I think this was my first parade in the dark and I'm not a fan. They were throwing candy and little ones watching were darting out into the street to pick up the candy.....in the dark.....in between floats. Nope. Not a fan of little ones in the dark roadway along with vehicles with no headlights.

Well, I haven't wrapped anything, or addressed/signed anything, LOL...
BUT, I have done a lot of shopping online and have gotten finished w/dmil, plus found the picture she wanted for daunt's gift, and found the jeans that I think have been discontinued by L evi's for dh...

Fed dgs some applesauce, played with him awhile on the quilt on the floor, and he is now napping in his bassinett.

Need to wash his bottles.

When we were at dmil's, she gave us some ham that a cousin had sent her. Country-style ham -- some of you will know what I mean -- VERY, VERY salty. Oh my goodness. I've drunk a bottle of water and a diet coke since I got home. Still thirsty.

Also watched parts of the game. We were for Navy also (dfil & one of my dgfathers were Navy vets)... but I felt sooo sorry for the Army guy who fumbled.

Hope you feel better soon, Twins!
Tomorrow is another day.

Happy Hanukkah, Twins!

OKay, so you didn't ride a camel?

It's just weird around here. Everything I'm doing is on a time deadline. Whoever decided Christmas should be so soon after Thanksgiving, and so close to the end of the year is an idiot.

I got 1 LOL washed and hung up and folded up. DH and I went to a wedding at church, it was gorgeous with all the red dresses and the church all decorated up for Christmas. They had a pot-luck in lieu of presents and I was surprised to see a huge tent up and nice round tables with red and white tablecloths. Wasn't figuring on anything that nice. However, I didn't want to spend all afternoon there so we ducked out and came home.

Made us a nice baked chicken dinner, snapped all those beans I picked recently and cooked them and did a boatload of dishes.

In between in whatever snatches of time I can steal I'm sewing.

Just watched the duck Christmas program. I missed most of it the 1st time. I thought it was nice.

Scattered: got it and dealt with it. I hope!

Sunday school lesson is ready so it is time for bed. Dh and I practiced singing a bit too. We took last week's 4-part anthem (with piano and drum accompaniment) and turned it into a guitar duet for us to sing over the Christmas season. We still need a couple of other duets although dh says one of the hymns for tomorrow may work as an a Capella duet for us since it sounded good as we were working on it. It is a hymn that our church's have always sung to a different, familiar, tune. Unfortunately, both hymns are in the service tomorrow so we are stuck, using the unfamiliar tune so dh and I worked on learning it well so we can lead the choir as well as the congregation.

Actually, tomorrow has 3 out of 4 hymns that are unfamiliar. I hope worship committee is ready to field some complaints! Although, I just realized I'm downstairs for Sunday school so may not be around to sing it.

I have a headache. No idea why since I had a good nap. Perhaps it is my lousy, lousy, diet these days.
