Just waiting for it to be time to deliver the Dr Jekyl & Mr Hyde to school. Last night it was definitely MR HYDE! I thought there were going to be holes in her wall this morning! Can we say 14 going on 3? And this was at 10pm! Poor dd can barely wait for the Youth Ranch to call. We can only pray that if and when they do, that this will make a difference in her life. Because if she continues into adulthood as she is, it's scary to think what may very well happen to her.

Better get ready to go -bbl.

I am dragging this morning, but the good news is that I slept through the night. Tonight I need to take the 1/2 Flexeril earlier then I did last night. I need to get moving and get out the door.

I'm up and on the treadmill for a short time. Knee just went out so I've had to slow it down as well.

Dinner and meeting last night was the best. The minister I subbed (and will be subbing for) for was cold towards me. She asked if I did the bulletin and I said yes I had written it but sent it to the secretary for printing. I only did the insides and not the outsides which is a picture of their church and contact info. Apparently, the secretary put my name on the cover with Rev. in front of it which is a HUGE faux pas. I didn't notice that (got a copy of the bulletin for my files but never looked at it and dh didn't notice either.) I told her I was clear in my written introduction which was read that I was lay and had been licensed that year.

I asked about the mike and she said they seem to not let anyone use the battery operated one but her. That means I'll always be leading from the reader's pulpit - not an issue but annoying because of lack of space to put hymn books, water, etc. and I have to move across to sit behind the main pulpit while the reader is doing the scripture. As well, for the children's story it only gives me one hand since I have to hold a mike and I can't move to the back of the church to do prayers (my preferred way of delivery since they are prayers of the people and I'm no more special than anyone sitting in the pews.) On the plus side, it means I can wear a dress since I don't have to deal with the battery pack on a waist-band.

She is moving this week (and then a 4 week trip to Australia at the end of the month) so her coldness could have had something to do with that.

Dinner was a diet disaster (spaghetti) but I did sit with someone I'm traveling to Nashville with so that was good. The meeting ran 40 minutes long and I had to stay after talk with someone.

Got home at 10:15 and visited a bit with ds (who was still doing laundry) and then got to bed at 11 but not to sleep for over an hour. Rough night.

This morning is a trip into the city with my friend. This afternoon is probably a trip into the city with dh. He's freaked out because he has to leave his laptop for a week for servicing.

Yes, really hoping Mr. Harmony is feeling better today. My Dad has hip issues and dmom says it is so hard to get him to cut back on the physical activity; he has a prolific woodworking hobby and is always doing stuff around the house. ((Harmony and Mr. Harmony))

I should have a pretty open day ahead of me! Dd14's accompanist called last night and can't make a rehearsal with her this afternoon, which makes dd14's and my schedule easier and more open. They may not be able to rehearse at all before the judged performance on Saturday, but they have rehearsed 2x already and the accompanist thinks they'll be fine. Dd14 is a little hesitant about that, but I think she will be OK with that in the end. Her teacher was making changes for her yesterday -- but she said they didn't really affect the accompanist. , , , The accompanist pointed out they can talk through the piece before they perform it. If worst comes to worst, we can work in a rehearsal at the accompanist's house (in a neighboring town, so a little drive) on Friday, either before or after synchro practice. . .

I am up, have chatted w/ dgirls before they left, have had a mug of tea, checked emails, responded to 1 email, let dog out -- let dog back in. I'm off to get the a.m. routine going.

I am not leaving the house until around 11:10 to pick up a dfriend from her work (this is the friend who runs a bio. lab at the Univ. with her dh) and go out for a quick lunch with her.

I almost feel like I should only post a li&t retrospectively since I either (1) end up doing things not on the list I post and (2) often don't get to things I do put on the list.

At this point, there is nothing to put on a retrospective list, so I'd better go do something!

Have decided that if we loose the light and egg production stops while house sitting if we have to do that. I"m hoping to get the light on a timer but that may not happen like I am hoping it will if not. I'll buy new hens or chicks in the breed I originally wanted in March / April. Only one egg yesterday.

Today I've turned the light on for chickens @ 6:45 and have feed them as well and opened up the chicken door. H. made coffee he left early today had to be there by six another big pour day.

Will change the sheets later so bed will be made then. I need to wash the top sheet and one other load today.

I have a plan yea! It's mild but breezy out here today. 35*-46* @ 47* we are already above the hi. for today.

LO delivered to school with his arms full. We finished his snowman project last night, plus his homework, plus another library book.

Next up - food for funeral lunch into the oven

I need to get rolling...I can get through a.m. routine (including making bed, s2s and walking ddogs) by 8 a.m. when I'm heading to work, but when I'm not, things go much slower! I was planning to sleep in a bit this morning but ddogs woke us around 5 a.m. so I did get up then, but give myself more sleep once dh was out of the house.

I'm heading to ATL to see dsis today - before I hit the road I need to:
-s2s
-walk ddogs if it's not raining too hard
-get Moe to bath at Petsmart (we're trying there for a bath - I don't think our vet is really set up for bathing and grooming)
-make the bed
-restart the laundry
-print form which I'm wanting dsis to sign and figure it out
-clear back seat of car for Moe

So I'm looking around for the BGS to get unstuck from this seat...

Catching up on last evening

Gee, after I went to bed, everyone here had a lot to say.

Elizabeth, I'm sorry your day went downhill. Maybe the ins co will step right up and see the mold as their responsibility? I don't catch on to the guage talk very well, but post in A, C and Needlework and you'll definitely find the chat turns to appreciation of changing crochet patterns to doll size. Hope dd can feel less frustration at school - that's tough.

helia, this friend of HRH's lectures on hydroelectric power, and a few times a year flies to or through an airport not too far away. When he stays over to lecture more than one day, he is free in the evenings, and when that's anywhere near here, he tries to visit HRH. In the past, HRH would have lots of energy for this, they would go out to eat, shopping, hit some balls at the range, etc., and friend is dismayed HRH has become more likely to be tired by the evening, is much more carful what he eats, etc.

lucylee, that's sweet that you think of me as a gracious hostess type, and I can be pleasant in conversation with HRH's friends, I think. But it is not my home-cooking that draws company, lol. It's HRH who is the popular fellow, with many friends from the past - golfers, coworkers, old neighbors, computer geeks and gaming pals - who have (historically ) considered him a lot of fun to hang out with, and lobby to get him to get out more. He is a big disappointment as he gets older, , and our life is very homebody-friendly! I'm sure part is that he hates to have left me alone caring for my ddad for hours each day only to tell me goodbye in the evenings, too.

Kathryn, maybe she was worried - until you reassured her - that you were a little nutty and requested the title be assigned to you while you were in the pulpit. I assume your introduction was read by someone in the congregation introducing you? It's too bad they didn't catch that bulletin didn't match what they were saying and nicely mention a correction. I'm wondering if dh could figure out a personal mic for you. It's been so long since I worked in sound for church services that I only know it would SEEM such a thing should be possible by now - I have no idea that it is. Dd's knee is acting up, too.

scattered, you are probably like me with no "usual" schedule, but if supper is late at all, I'd consider taking it then. For me, that would answer the grogginess and the potential tummy upset.

Twins' Mom, I hope Moe has a good experience at a new place. Stay safe on the road, and I hope your dsis is open and receptive to your visit.

I slept later than normal this am because dh had a dentist appt at 8. With him having this appt, he won't be able to take off this afternoon for dd2s ribbon cutting ceremony. She was disappointed but with no notice, he didn't have a chance to rearrange things at work. Dd1 will eat a quick lunch at school and then will be able to leave for a bit to be there for dd2.
