Morning y'all....
I'm having a simple weekend. The football play offs are on and Sweetie has declared himself a football widower ;) it only happens once a year so he doesn't mind. I use commercial times to work on the house. Today will be laundry day.

It was 30* this morning. The high should hit 45*. Tonight we are expecting tonights temp to be25*. That's cold around here. It looks like I have huge lollipops in my back yard. Sweetie calls them ghosts. I have all my plants covered and tied with sheets. I've wrapped my tree trunks as well. This cold snap is the longest in 25 years... Some think it might break the record. I love coldmweather so when I wall Willis later this morning I will try to put this day in my memory bank for the coming months ;-)

Probably not going to be a really simple Saturday here, either.
I need to visit dparents; I'm sure she has a lot of instructions to give me for while they are out of town.
I have schoolwork to do and housework to do... and we're planning to go to a movie last night.

I have a question for members only, too.
Tomorrow is another day.

:D :D :D Happy birthday, Lisa!!! :D :D :D

Wow -- that IS cold for y'all, isn't it, Cowinkie?
I think the highs are in the 60s here -- it was still in the 60s at midnight last night! But it's going to start raining soon and turn cold afterwards. Probably going to have a flood Monday while we're trying to get groceries!

Waving to Lilac, Sadie, Twins, Kathryn, Ivy, Harriet, blessed -- and everyone I cannot see in topic review! ;)

Yesterday I installed a new modem and had an a t & t pc checkup w/online tech "talking" to me... dh says MAYBE computer is running better. He is still having trouble w/one of his comic sites and yes -- THIS site is VERY slow. Glad to know the problems may not be in our computer.
DH just HATES it when we clear out everything, erase cookies, etc... b/c then he has to register again @ every site... but I told him that is necessary to keep the computer running smoothly, right? How often do you computer gurus do all that "maintenance" stuff?
Tomorrow is another day.

Happy Birthday LisaB.

It's time for lunch, so I'm taking a short break to eat and cuop. Temp. is 79* at the moment and sunny. It has been warm all week, but we could use some rain! I see where it's quite foggy in some places.

Glad to see Sadie feeling well enough to be at work today.

I was up early this morning and started right in on Saturday routine. Both bathrooms cleaned, kitchen cleaned, hard floors mopped and carpet swept. Just have to run a duster over flat surfaces and I'm done. Dh called ddil#1 this morning; she didn't answer, but ds called back a few minutes later. They want us to come visit them instead of them coming here this afternoon. So we'll be leaving here about 3 pm.

I've noticed this website is a little slow to load or change pages also.

I think dMinnie wants out -- I can hear her crying by the back door. Break is over! Hello to everyone!

I am making GREAT Progress on the Paper Monster. it wont be conquered today, but it isn't going as slow as I thought. Just taking a break to check email and boards and eat some lunch. Then back at it. I am determined not to move onto anything alse until this problem is fixed and finalized once and for all.

Having said that tho, I will have to break long enough to do the regualr weekend things such as some laundry, menu for the week and grocery list. But NOT TODAY!!

Our temps are supposed to go up around 60 degrees today. As soon as it warms up a bit I want to open some windows upstairs slightly and get the back door opened for a bit. Im always getting antsy for fresh air in the house around this time of year. Give it another week and I will be counting the days til Spring. However, we are being told that the temperatures for the remainder of month and into Feb, starting next week, are going to go down to the lowest of the last couple of years. DEEP FREEZE coming. Yuk. Going to enjoy this weekend while I can.

Going to eat, and get back to the paper work. BBl

struggling to understand my not so dear sis at the moment any way ~Sigh~ she is all proud of herself for getting surprise bday cake for mom having an 80th bday [mom is diabetic type 2] trying to watch her weight this year working really hard at it so made me wonder so what sis was thinking? Our son has requested no cakes for his bday I guess that is a factor and different mind set we have here. What would you all do? Sis works in a nursing home so must know how to deal with other ways of birthdays rather than the standard bday. Mom is allergic to sugar subtitates [sp?]. I guess I"m just really frustrated b/c I do not have a solution for it and seems to be that no mater what I"m in the wrong no matter what I do or suggest. I guess I'm just in "a mood" I think it is mean to put that kind of temptation there how does a person refuze their own cake?

Glad someone is making progress on the paperwork monster. That will be a top priority when I get motivation.

Got the bedroom level dusted and vacuumed and our bathroom cleaned. The other two will be given slipshod cleaning in a few minutes.

I made up some vegetable soup from the chicken broth and had one cup of that for lunch, along with my popcorn. House smells great because of the soup and the ribs in the crock pot for dinner.

Will need to go over to the church in a bit and also have to remember to prep the Sunday School class. We are making and eating 'bugs' because John the Baptist is featured in the story this week. There's a fellow most churches wouldn't allow through the door!

Sometimes others may not get it. Maybe you can bring some extra's without making issue of it. (such as fruit etc). so sorry, it is very frustrating. She doesn't understand as she is not in that position. It's hard.

Dd older has had a couple years where she didn't want cake... we made a favorite meal of hers, had candles no dessert thing, balloons, and crepe hangings and it has been a blast with the same feeling. hope that helps.
it is always a joy to be here with you!
