Good Habits Tuesday

Post by Twins' Mom »

Habits are at first cobwebs, then cables. ~ Spanish Proverb
Are you working toward good habits for the new year? What good habits are you developing, and what new habits do you aspire to? In the three weeks of our new year, how have you progressed?

Turn the wispy cobweb habits into the strong cable habits that will support you!

I did a starting post but was too long winded (or is that SLOW?), Twins. I've deleted and posted here. WE had pretty much the same kind of thought. Mine was fine tuning our new year's schedule. Like the "habit" one!
We are now 3 weeks into the new year. Does your schedule need tuning? Think I need to have one first,
Spent about 12 hours at Epcot yesterday. My body is tired today! Have to take gd to school first off. This will be students' first week they've had an entire week of school since vacation started in December.

Have a 'work' meeting at church at 9:30. Not sure how much good I'll be, but I'm going.

Meeting DS-A's family tomorrow night at W hispering C anyon restaurant at Ft. W ilderness at D isney. Our 'farewell' dinner. We have had such a good time with all of them this week, but I'll sure be sorry to see them leave. But what a nice 'break' it's been. DD commented late last night about how sweet and attentive DSGD13 is. And she's right.

DH just finished doing the dishes from the last 2 days. Dsonil has done them a couple of times since I've been down, but evidently just didn't feel like it in the last couple of days. Oh well, they're done.

Have to leave in 20 minutes so best finish getting myself ready. Have a good day.

And my little saga continues with dh's meds from med co continues. Funny thing is I had been waiting to order his BP medicine until this thing was straightened out. Finally had to order it Friday night -order in on Saturday and it was SHIPPED yesterday. The other 2 meds that were ordered on Jan. 4th are still in limbo! They even called on Friday to check the address AGAIN! There still is no confirmation number and it went from going to be shipped on January 16th to the 23rd to the 24th and I see it's now back to the 23rd. We'll see. My bet is we'll get yet another phone call -probably saying the script is too old to be filled. Hope I'm wrong.Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Twins - Good Morning!

Dee - Good Morning, I need to work on my evening routine.

I have been doing really well on 2 of my 3 resolutions; I have only eaten out for lunch once since Dec. 27, I have taken my huge pile of vitamins every morning, drank at least a bottle of water a day (this is huge for me), and I have been doing really good with cleaning up my mouth, but using the stairs has been lacking and it will lack today because I am having trouble breathing with this head cold.

I need to get a move on; thankfully I packed my lunch last night so I just need to do the rest of my SDR & GRWR.

SDR & GRWR
:D Coffee
:D check emails
d2s
make-up
vitamins & meds
grab lunch & coffee cups
Work
ToDo/TaDa
Dream boards
Homework for ITE 140
Dinner
Bed early

Good morning! I am up and sipping tea. I've said good bye to the girls, checked email, let the dog out, and let the dog back in. --Ha! When I get here early in the morning, I type that exact same sentence, plus or minus a few other sundry items.

I like that proverb, Twins. So true. . .. i am trying to be more pro-active and have a more take charge attitude this year around the house - and in other things too. That is not really a specific behavior, but it is an area in which I need to grow, believe it or not. I tend to bow to others' opinions and wishes in some areas of life; I have a pretty laid back personality in general - not in all things though - and that is probably why dh and I married each other; we complement each other well in this way. :) I guess dh is laid back about some things too, now that I think about it, like the appearance of the house when we have guests over. Anyhow, I need to keep the areas where my laid back personality is great and change the areas where it isn't helpful. Change certainly feels like a cobweb right now.

That does sound like a wonderful time with family, Dee. 12 hours of walking? at Epcot sounds like great exercise. I hope you're not too sore. ((HUGS)) for the continuing Medco saga.

It is COLD here, currently -5. Winter certainly arrived while we were away for the weekend; maybe 1.5 inches of snow fell here over the weekend too. Our high today is forecast to be 12. Tomorrow will be a tad warmer and so on until next week when we are forecast to be above freezing again. Well, this is all just forecast and not reality yet.

Today:
-groc. store list and menu plan for the week
-groc. store
-New Years letter
-maybe dd14 to oboe lesson? I'll see how her wrist is doing when she gets home from school today. She will be writing with that hand for one semester exam and using it to play in band. (She had her band playing test last week so no final in that class today.) It is her right wrist that is hurt and she is right-handed.

I'm off to get the a.m. routine going.

WTG on your resolutions, scattered!!

Hi blessed!! Hmm.... we just have the 1.5 inches on the ground right now. Maybe 2 inches; I'm not a great judge of these things. Probably not enough to bother shoveling our driveway, though I might do that anyway just because I like the driveway to be as clear as possible.

Im' working on washing dishes daily - consistently.
and returning to reading and prayer time in the morning. I fell out of that as a habit last year.

Continuing with keeping up w washing. Daily walking dog. eating whats good for me.

I would like to work towards an earlier bedtime. I can't get more hours in bed, or asleep - if I don't cooperate.

I would like to get my creative gene working too. Bought some material today for yoga pants and top. I'll cut a pattern off some other clothes.
Just begin.

I'm at work so posting and running.

I've been working on re-establishing a.m. routine and getting out of the house on a timely basis. I need to also work on establishing my to-dos the night before so I can have those OMM when I get going.

UGH!!! I got out the door actually on time, which meant I got to work 10 minutes early, and promptly got sent home. :( They do not want my germs and I can't see patients sick like this... so I am home.

I talked to INE on the way home and updated DS20's resume as he need to start searching for another job. He is not planning on quitting his current job just needs to get another one to get more hours. I told him he needs to be at least working 40 hours a week.

I think I am going to watch a little TV and then head back to bed. Will focus on my ToDo's after a nap.
