We moved out to the desert again with a bunch of friends. They are all going to Alaska in 2014. The best thing is that we might go with them.
I am so excited about this. They call it the Loosy Goosy Bunch. Meeting places are sent up (every several days) and the group meets. The rest of the time we could go by ourselves - or with a couple others or not go at all - just meet at scheduled times. Several have been before, some are novices, a couple of the guys are wizbang mechanics. No one will be left alone. It is the best way to travel that far.
I am very tired from getting up early and being out in the fresh air a lot today. This evening was great - cloud cover kept the air warm tonight and we had a great bunch to sit and talk with.
Going to hit the hay early. Niters All.

Re: Meanwhile, on Wednesday
Still working on the annual report. It is getting there, the list of things left to do is short enough that I could write them all down. Dh has begged me to come to bed, so I will.
I also made up a batch of nuts and bolts. I had measured out the cereal, etc. before Christmas for the second batch but never got them made.
Dishes are done up so the kitchen isn't a mess right now.
See you all in the morning.

Re: Meanwhile, on Wednesday
Hi again everyone! I decided to go to church for dinner and I am glad I did. I had forgotten I actually like the chicken fried steak they have there, and Bible study was good. On the way back, I dropped the expired phone books at the library to be recycled and picked up butter and flour. When I got home, I paid bills, updated Quicken, balanced my checkbook, and put away the stuff on the drying rack. I also realized I had no vegs for tomorrow's lunch and fixed black eyed peas. However, I realized tomorrow is lunch with friends and I don't take a lunch that day, oh well.
Meanwhile: As I type this my pictures are being transferred from my camera to my hard drive.
Meanwhile: After I finish dealing with the pictures, I will watch a mindless video and crochet.
kathryn: No, I don't have a rocking chair. And I will definitely try rocking with hugging! Thanks for the idea.
Good night everyone!

Re: Meanwhile, on Wednesday
scattered, I got quite a laugh at your comment that MT could have lunch with your mother if she goes to Alaska in 2014.
I am so glad that dh was home when the FedEx guy delivered the shower doors. He used his dolly to wheel them around back. It was too wide to go thru the door, so dh carried each door. The box was so heavy that I could not lift it at all.
Then dh was checking to see if the shower hookups would work. They worked but then it leaked. We never used it as a shower and I only took a few baths in it. I can't remember if it leaked for awhile after it was turned off. Dh decided to call a plumber and asked me who I wanted to use. I told him and he said, they are the most expensive in town. Well they may be, but the 2 times we needed them, they were there and quick. One year, dhs toilet plugged up. Turned out we had tree roots causing problems. It was New Years Eve day and they worked until it was fixed. Another time, we were to leave the next day for a 4 day weekend. I happened to notice that the hot water heater was leaking. Dh was on 12 hour days and could do nothing. I called them and they came and replaced it very quickly. This company gives priority to previous customers. Dh called and she said she would put the work order in but it might be tomorrow. In less than an hour, the guy was at the door and done in 15 minutes. Dh watched him do and now knows what to do.
So dh was able to cut the cement backer board for the ceiling in the shower. It isn't called cement board for nothing. There is no way in the world that I can hold that while he attaches it to the ceiling frame. Luckily his motorcycle buddy is 6' 5", so he will be a good candidate to help him with that.
I spent 2 1/2 hours today working on those curtains. When I was done, one was so crooked.
So I put the long panel back up. Next time I will work with the bottom section that is already hemmed and will just have to mess with the top by making a rod pocket. Hopefully I can do that without messing it up. I will use both bottoms to try again. I can use one of todays curtains for that square table cover that I wanted to make.
Dd2 has 5 people needing to be off on Saturday. She said she will have to work Saturday afternoon. I didn't volunteer to babysit but I am betting I will have to. I told dh and said that if I am watching them, I'd rather do it at their house. He agreed. He'll be working on the bathroom and running in and out, so it would be better to not have 4 kids to mix in the equation.
Guess I better head to bed. I need to clean and do laundry tomorrow, so that I can run errands on Friday. I am trying to go out in public as little as possible, with all the flu going around.
