Thursday - the last day in January

Late to pick up dd because friends stopped me at the mailbox to chat. She doesn't worry. By the time I got there she had already texted (the free kind) all 3 of her siblings to tell about her day. We are blessed that she has such a good relationship with each one that she can just chat with them any time. She had made 2 half-court baskets today (gym play, not a game) and had to tell someone or bust. Also the report card came with the news she expected but was afraid to share with her siblings until she was sure. She says when she made one of the baskets, one of the boys said, "Whoa" before he caught himself in the compliment. She says that is unheard of, for a boy to admit a girl's shot was good so she was delighted.

emailing with dd33 to firm up weekend plans. Amazed at how many things are still to be done tomorrow.

January's laundry card filled out perfectly. Every one of 7 main laundry loads and 6 minor loads was done at least once in January, with a total of 28 loads done and 2 mattresses flipped. February's card is printed and ready in the box. I am the master of my laundry baskets, lol.

Hello again!

It HAS been busy around here. Tonight, after I left school sometime after 4:30 -- we went to CVS... then to dmil's... then to local bar-b-que restaurant to eat supper w/ds & dgs... then to dparents' house to sort/file mail & water plants... then home, where I fed & played w/dgs and ds & dh switched out a bookcase from our house to ds's house.
* whew *

I really need to grade some papers, and my eyes are itching & bothering me. Allergy-type symptoms.

Y'all know my daunt who wanted so badly to keep dgs for us?
Well, I need her to keep him again next week, but I've talked to her a couple of times in the last week or so, and she has not mentioned keeping him again. * sigh * Do you think he was more than she bargained for or something? She said he was really good, and I think she told me when I picked him up that I could bring him back anytime... but looks like she would have said something again, while we were talking. I mean, he was here w/me when I was on the phone with her.
Hmmm...
I may just take off the afternoon one day next week & keep him myself so ds & dh can go to a ballgame.
DH is concerned that I don't mess up and take too many days, however. Right now, I have 5 days I can take and keep my retirement credit at 31 years + 3 months. If I take 6 days, it will drop to 31 years, 2 months. Of course, I'm thinking, if ddad has that transplant before school's out, then I'll probably use all 5 days and then some, so I'm not worried about it. But dh says I'll think about it every month the rest of my life -- my check could be more if I hadn't taken off that day for no good reason. I figure one month is not going to make a huge difference anyway.
So... do I ask daunt or not? I don't know. Dmom agrees with me, probably shouldn't ask unless it is a real need... not just a convenience for a ballgame.

I think ddad IS becoming a little stir crazy and maybe a little depressed right now. He had a long day -- not physically -- just aggravated b/c dmom stayed gone longer than he expected, I think. After a fruitless search for a T arget store, she took a nap and slept much longer than SHE expected.

Hi again! I did it, I broke routine and instead of Cracker Barrel, I had Chinese. Unfortunately, it was not very good Chinese, cost more, and (of course) did not take checks. Oh well. Cat care is done, including meds, kitchen clean up done, mail dealt with, laundry put away, some tax forms filed. I need to get a tax form from eTrade, since I rolled over some 401k there, I certainly don't want it to be counted as a distribution! At art class, I finished the outlining and am ready to put colors on next week. I found out that the 61 Comet models are all for the 2 door version, I was hoping for the 4 door. I will probably get one anyway. Now it is time to crochet and watch a video. I may do another 15 minutes of clean up in the den, I may not. Good night everyone.

lucylee: Definitely ask your aunt. She may be thinking you already have someone to watch dgs and that is why you didn't ask.

Nah, Elizabeth, I think she knows we're pretty much stuck w/out her. I just can't understand why she hasn't brought it up herself? I kept expecting her to say, "When are you bringing dgs back to stay with us?" But she didn't. And TWICE we were talking about dh & ds watching ballgames @ ds's house while I watched dgs here.
Dmom said daunt has had a bad cold... and then last weekend, one of her grandchild had his appendix out... maybe she's just overwhelmed right now, too.

Is there something significant about the 61 Comet, Elizabeth?
