Women's World Day of Prayer Friday

Post by Lynlee »

Friday, March 1 is Women's World Day of Prayer with this year's theme,
"I was a stranger and you welcomed me."

Prayers for Mr MT and MT, for the medicos caring for MR MT.

Thanks also Dee for starting up J and C today.

Yes, Lynlee, definitely have the Emptynesters on my mind this morning, too.

Have a good last workday of the week, scattered.

New monthly threads are popping up today. Can you believe it is already March?

Dd continues with high school angst and has to make a "we need a mature friendship" speech today to another girl who has a strong personality but an immature expectation of friendship. ("If you don't stop being friends with (the other girl), then you're not my friend any more.") says she. I told dd to try to make "I" statements rather than "you" statements. I told her she also needs to apologize to her science teacher, who witnessed her teary-eyed yesterday. He deserves a word about maturity, too, and some assurance that she knows she's just going to have to get over this. You can't keep everybody in the high school happy, and excluding other friends is an unrealistic expectation.

DH just called from hospital. He will be having lots of tests today - but he can't remember what they are. I'm taking a pad of paper and pen today so he can write down things. He knows he won't be getting breakfast. :(

I will be turning things over to committee members today, picking up footsteps, packing and then going to motel near hospital for the time he will be there. It is a very long drive thru the middle of Phoenix to get to the hospital so I don't want to drive that unless I have to. Hospital has valet parking and the motel is just a few block away with stop lights at every turn I have to make.

Next up is to print out maps, and start on dishes, etc. to get ready - too early to call people so I'm relying on email for notification.

((((MT and Mr. MT))))

Thanks for updating us. And I'm glad you are moving into the motel nearby. It will allow you to focus on him, no wear and tear on you and you won't be feeling guilty about all the things that aren't getting done around home, since you won't be there. Plus, you aren't at home, so you aren't messing it up.

If you have a moment, google search for a laundry that offers full service (they are uncommon here in Canada but on every corner in NYC so I have no idea if it is something you'll find close by.) But why not turn everything over to others so you can truly refresh yourself when you aren't at the hospital?

Made some progress. I'm on a 'schedule' today but ended up falling asleep after dh left the bed so started the day an hour late. Skipped exercising to catch up but have slipped behind again because my music friend called to talk (she's the one that just had the double jaw replacement surgery.)

The weekly kitchen chores are done plus an assortment of other chores, like flipping calendars to the new month.

EMPTYNESTER I sent you a private message. We are here to help wherever we can. I'm sure Cowinkie would be available too. Thinking of you.

(Mt) I hope you got some rest last evening. So nice of Norma to pop in. Thank you for keeping us informed, you are in our thoughts today.

So, DH is very ill, just the flu, but he's eating ok. Bad thing is when he's inactive his hip gets stiffer until he's up and around quite a bit. Well, I'm staying away from him. I do have some turkey broth and meat, so, I'll be making some homemade soup.

Intended to do some outside work today, but it is cold outside, low 60's (well cold for us) so that's not going to happen. I'm going to try to keep at least a little busy, that usually helps me "perk up" a bit.

Did some OMM stuff, renewed Corp. filing with state; made dpc...insurance company check is going out today, it's a week late so I was thinking it had been delivered to wrong address and was worried. It never takes this long after we receive the notice. Everything I do with this ins. agent since Jan has been late late late. Once when I called the call got rerouted to another city answering their calls. My agent today answered from the receptionist desk. Definitely something going on with this company. Everybody quit or on strike? Dunno, but hard to deal with right now.
