Hooray!! Blood Sugar below goal for 3rd day in a row. Don't know if that makes up for the 59 points above goal the day before or not.

Today I go get my toe nails cut and then some groceries. Then guests for dinner.

House is in pretty good shape. I didn't get all the things put away in the den but I did get them stored neatly in boxes under the table. Papers still need sorting.

Sending big hugs to those who need them. Sandwich generation is not fun.

Time for breakfast and meds - already S2sox.

Just wanted to say Hi to everyone. I'm getting ready to go to IKEA with my cousin, she's due here momentarily. It has been raining all night and this morning. Will cuop when I get home again.

A good day to all!! ;)

I don't know what's up with this weather. It's been raining steadily, though off and on all morning and apparently over the night. We are really needing the rain, so I'm happy to see the grey skies. It isn't a dark grey, it's a bright light grey, if that makes any sense.

Watching a bit of the Vatican on TV. Not catholic either, but I find it interesting, and especially like the shots where they show all the artwork on the walls around them. DSiL happens to be in Italy right now for business. I should have asked him if he was there for the vote!

I did get some paperwork done, feeling good about that. Still some more to do though. Keeping up with the important stuff.

Flu is dragging on. Kept waking me up last evening with the cough.

Seems like a big {{Group HUG}} is in order here. We are one bunch of caring, hard-working gals, aren't we?

Is this normal? I'm making a long list of things ....

Gasp! :o Steady on... ... steady on....

... to remember and dates to do them. Surely this can't be. SHEEZ how do parents keep up with it? Especially those with multiple children going multiple ways?

OH, OKay, thank goodness you're all right! It's a bunch of ideas from the teacher and not 6 of your own l-i-s-t pages. Whew! Please do remember, safety first. ;)

OKay asked How to manage multiple people's schedules? I find a wall-mount "family/planner" calendar with space to the left for names of those in the family is helpful. I'm using Debbie Mumm's "Home is Where the Heart Is" calendar right now, which has a pocket for storing her accompanying stickers of appts, parties, etc. I keep those in snack-size baggies for easy retrieval (they are tiny). To the left of each week I write names HRH, dd14, me, "household" and my ddad. When I use a sticker on a person's line/day there is room to write the time and for instance, Dr. name. I can also use the half-clear little post-it page tabs to good advantage. Then I know by a glance at the calendar which person/day has accompanying info. The pocket can hold 3x5s of info for a day that needs plenty of portable knowledge "TO GO", and an actual small planner can offer space, also my 5x6 photo-size mini-card-album, or your pocketmod/pocketDIY option, OKay, which can travel along, is a natural extension.

Hi backacha, Sunny! Have fun.

((Twins Mom)) you are so sweet. Thanks for the idea of keeping close-by photos from times past as reminders of the whole life of the person. We care for them at a difficult time, but the photos can remind us that the difficulties are not of their choosing.

Oh, lucylee, what a wonderful quote from the superintendent! Funny but poignant. Have I asked this before... could you have the class "audited" by a someone sometimes, so that you are not the lone adult and the teens might not be quite so sure of themselves? I'm thinking preferably a man of formidable presense and few or no words.

All best wishes to the toes of Kathryn and Emptynester.

Hugs to Harmony! I get miffed at news media not backing off this story, actually. If the Catholic church says this is done through prayer, then it should not be treated as a political race. It's none of my business who is "in the running", IMO. (Yes, I love the "tours", though.)

Well, that was the catch-up post. More about my day PWYC-ish. bbl

Morning y'all...

Oh Lucyleee thank you for a great out loud morning laugh...Love the "they're not keeping the good ones at home". I think I'll have to share that one with my teacher friends. Heads up girl, spring break is just around the corner and then its really downhill from then.... Yippie!!!! Wanna change your mind and teach another year ;)

Twins...There is a grieving process after the reality of your sister situation sets in. And we're glad to be here for you. Sometimes its very difficult to deliever that sort of information to a parent or caretaker. Teaching Special Ed sometimes means you (me) have to tell parents and/or caregivers information that you know will destroy their dreams for their children. Jr. High seems to be the reality years when many of a parent's hope collide with reality. Its a very difficult time for all and I always was very aware of what my words meant to the parent's lives. I never took it lightly. But there is also hope for your sister that with proper meds and caretaking she witll become better than she is now. And that's what's important. I know if she could, your sister would tell you how honored she is that you are taking care of her. There are many who would walk away or at least shirk the responsibliities. Know thatyour sister loves you for being her protector and caring for her. She just isn't capable of expressing it to you. And, as Lucylee will be finding out...making a decision to leave a career which has defined you for many years is also very hard. Stepping away from what you love and walking into a different space is exciting and scary at the same time.

For me the word is purpose...you have exchange one important purpose that has been your focus for many years to another one. Some peolpe know immediately what that purpose is while others take their time. I think it is better to think of retiring as
a change in purpose rather than giving up a way of life. some people are great at it, while others never seem to figure out what they want to do.

Waving to everyone....Sweetie wants to walk puppies and I want to walk with Sweetie..Spending more time with Swettie was one of my main purposes for leaving my career. Not sorry that I did.... :D :D :D

Didn't quite finish the a.m. routine - never made the bed. I was going to change the sheets but never did that either. I went on anyway.
x groc. list
x groc. store
x called dfriend in Calif. back; we chatted for a good hour. I put away groceries while I was talking to her.

I am now heading to the gym. Dgirls will be home when I return; dd14 and I will then leave shortly afterward to go to her oboe lesson. Then home to switch teenagers and out to dinner with dd17. Then, I'll be home for good. I think. . . . . .

I'm making the old college try here... pushing myself a bit I guess.

Folded all the laundry that was sitting around. DH had folded some of his already.

I cleaned up the kitchen and reloaded the DW. He had already unloaded.

I've got another LOL washing.

Well the house doesn't look too bad. And I'm catching up at my desk. It's almost a miracle!

I need a nap.

ENI'm at the opposite end of the BS thing bummer it's up again today. my cycle sure messed with it this mo.

Back from town found a receiving blanket at the thrift shop its in the dryer now. Got some purses to use handles of for tote bags. Date with granny is over. Dgd fell asleep on the way home so counting it for a success this time.

Got one shift done but the neck opening is not the right size it will work but could be better. Have a skirt I took in and it needs a hem so working on that will be next up.

((Harmony)) I'm impressed by your college try! POTB to you.

And ((Kathryn))

Being sick is no fun. Neither is being sore.

x gym - jogged 25 minutes. I probably could handle 30, but I'm easing back into it.
x dd14 to oboe lesson; I read my book club book in a cafe during her lesson.

Next: dd17 and I are going out for Vietnamese! Her choice.
