Just Another Conga Friday

"take 2" :D
Today's the day to whip up some enthusiasm, dial attitude to action, and shake out some moves.

Good morning! Good morning! "We danced the whole night through -good morning, good morning to you!"

Ok, now I'm awake. Sure didn't want to get up this morning, but of course did -which is way more than we can ask of our resident teenager. Of course I'm sure that's the refrain with lots of teens! Just knocked on her door AGAIN and quickly walked away, because if she knew it was me??????

My blood sugar was quite high this morning -and then I glanced at the dressing table. There sat my evening M etformin. Guess I do need that one :| Hoping some meds arrive today -especially dh's s piriva for his COPD. He has enough through Tuesday and I can't find the other blister packs. I'm hoping they were sent north with dh's duffel bag in DS-R's trailer. Otherwise I'm at a loss.

Now we're searching here for gd's social security card, her birth certificate, her medicaid card. I'm thinking gd has them in one of her scrapbooks. We'll look at those next week when she's at camp.

Have to work at church doing the bulletin today. The other secretary is taking today off too.

DD and dd of verydfriend who just passed away were able to connect quite a bit yesterday. They've made plans to get to know each other even better. Know dfriend talked a lot to her dd about our dd. She loved her like another dd. Dfriend's dd lives in IN. She's staying here with her dad for an extra week so hopefully we'll get to know her even better in that time.

Well gd is up but so is the radio -even with 2 doors shut. Oh well, I can live with it for a bit. I'm really getting too old for this. DD feels awful because she has to leave for work and gd is usually not getting up. DD will have so much time to herself in the morning after gd goes to the ranch. And perhaps be able to start the day on not such a high level of stress.

Think I don't HAVE to get up for anything early tomorrow. DBIL/DSIL's anniversary party isn't until about 5 (have to go over about 3 though). GD has been dissing it as any other date -19, 33, 8 -because she wants to go to Valrico to a birthday party of someone dd doesn't even know. Not going to happen. That's at least 45 miles away if not more. Love to have her go somewhere other than this party, but we can't even leave her home. She will be the only teen/kid there. The co-teacher wanted to take her overnight once more and we're kind of hoping she might take her tomorrow through Sunday.

15 minutes  As it gets louder. Think she discovered the office door is closed.

Have to go to S am's this afternoon to pick up the bar-b-cued pork and rolls for tomorrow. DD is picking up the cake from a teacher friend this afternoon. She wanted practice and is doing a layer cake with fondant and gold dusting. Have not spent a whole lot of time on this party but will still be glad when it's behind us. DSisIL otoh has spent lots of time cleaning her house, getting ready for stay-over company. But she readily admits she needed that motivation to do the 'deep' cleaning. Her house is always neat as a pin btw. But I'm sure needed that extra cleaning.

Only 12 minutes to go as the sound escalates. I can do this, I can do this! Still waiting to hear "when".

DSonil spent the night at his Mom's last night, so he hopefully wouldn't have a repeat of the night/morning before.

Ok, I'm off to another day of adventures.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

"Good morning, good morning! Sunbeams will soon smile through. Good morning, good morning, to you."

Dee, congratulations to dbil and dsil on 50 years. I don't think you mentioned that the evening/morning before had been so specifically bad for dsonil. I didn't even know he had nearby family, but I'm glad they are there for him.

I'll be alternating Conga and Desk Day today.

Lynlee, we probably own as many Louis L'Amour books as books by any other author. One of my late dh's favorites. My ddad read part of Jubal Sackett just a year or so ago. Ooooo, that second quote applies to weight loss well, hmmm?

I was confused by that silence quote until I saw who said it and then it made perfect sense!

Reese Witherspoon is so typecast in my mind as a perfectly dressed, flighty girl with a dog in her pocketbook. lol. My fault, not hers.

Reykjavik is a fascinating place, Kathryn. Dd33 did a report on it in school that she really enjoyed researching. The history is compelling, too.

mamapiano, that was plenty to get done in a day. About one social situation a day is all I want, and lately I've been thinking even the grocery store gets pretty social, lol! Especially a crowded one.

We've been missing scattered and itneverends lately.

helia, I'm suddenly remembering to say that I did understand last week when you hinted that dd was studying Shakespeare - Hamlet I think - and you had it on your mind and were posting in that phrasing. When I read a book in a certain vernacular I find myself speaking that way in conversation!

Good morning! I need to leave in 35/40 minutes. I've been wondering about scattered and itneverends as well. . . I've been missing scattered's li&ts every day. . .

Ah, Harriet, I thought someone would catch the Shakespearean references, specifically Hamlet, the other day. I was entertaining myself. :)

Today:
-pick up bagels and coffee at 9; set up for the meeting
-steering committee meeting 9:30 - 11:15
-clean up after the meeting; make sure nursery garbage (diapers) is properly disposed of
-meeting with dd17's therapist (and dh) at noon
-get house ready for dfriend's arrival tonight
-exercise; this has been sorely neglected this week.
-out for dinner
-visit with dfriend!

I hope to post this afternoon for help to keep focused. Have a good morning all!

Good morning, villagers ~

Today's goals:
* Finish sewing group newsletter
* Email pdf to copy shop
* Errands in The Big City this afternoon
* Figure out new cell phone

I bought a new phone yesterday afternoon but have not opened the box yet. It will take a block of uninterrupted time to transfer the number, minutes, and contact list from my old phone to the new one.

It just occurred to me that the new phone is a different brand so I will need to buy a different charger for my car. Sigh.

Hi Harriett, I'm here. Been lurking  . I have been home from work all week due to.... drum roll please....a torn rotator cuff. Yup! Been loads of fun I tell ya. I am going to an orthopaedic surgeon today at 1pm, so I should have a better plan/prognoisis on getting back to life after I see him. I am just praying that it doesnt require surgery. The timing could NOT be worse if thats the case. But either way, Im sure I'll live, lol.

Scattered has been real real busy as of late. I will be talking to her later today and I will let her know its time to get back on the wagon. Her and I both need some better accountability where our homes are concered, lol.

Dh has been working from home this week and its been a bit "different" (aka annoying, lol) as I dont work well when otheres are home. Too distracting for me. But on the other hand, I cant do much around right now anyhow, so I guess I cant complain. He will be back in his office next week, I hope.

I am just going to putter around here best I can today until its time to get ready and leave for the doctor. Getting dressed is a real joy these days. It takes me forever. Going to look for a bigger blouse that might be easier to get on and off today. Dont know what I have that will work. have to see.

I am not in my usual panic mode to get everything done on the weekend now. As I dont know when I will be returning to work. I do know its not next Monday tho, lol. So I can take a slower, calmer approach to my chores right now. I am supposed to help tomorrow at church for the kids Easter Egg Hunt. That shouldnt be too difficult. Other than that, my weekend is shaping to be pretty quiet. You know what they say about that tho....we'll see.

Going to see what I can scare up for breakfast and take a good look around here to see what I need to be concentrating on.

*WAVING* Hello to everyone!!!!!

Last full day of carving. My wrists and hands are really stiff this morning, but I'm almost done with my totem pole.

My blood sugar was 91 this morning - what's with that? I've been struggling to stay under 120 this spring. Same diet as ever - weight was up however - wish they both would go down.

Next up some breakfast and S2S and get up the road.

Type at you later. :D

Hello villagers!

(itneverends) for shoulder problems. Sure understand. Hoping it's not painful to you right now.

Oh Lynlee, LOL at the Thurs/Fri thing..you were partially right because it was Fri where you are! I don't know how you keep it straight anyway!

Yesterday was a challenge. DH asked me to come out with him on jobsite because there was lots of carrying of tools and he felt he couldn't do it. So I went out for 2-hours work that stretched into about 5. A total of 29 very steep steps in different locations to haul heavy buckets of tools up and back, plus a very long walk down driveway to truck and also all the way around a very big house to the side steps. I came home and crashed for about 5 hours of sleep. I did make us sandwiches for a late lunch, but we never did have any dinner.

I don't like these changes in our lives. They are really tough!

Today I am finally feeling a bit better after my crash yesterday, 3 hours up and then all night sleeping. I am doing some things around here. Have loaded DW and that is ready to unload; have whites twirling soon ready to hang up. There are some bills to pay and a bank statement there... so I'm going to putter around.

First I must sweep the front porch area because leaves have been blowing in or we're bringing them in on our shoes..then I must run the sweeper around here.
