Dd14 and I are off to the craft store, hoping to be quick and early but still have a chance at some browsing. We'll go to Chick-Fil-A for their breakfast tiny yeast rolls and chicken bites for a treat.

Back home, she'll do her painting with acrylics we hopefully find there. Then while that dries, she has some homework.

Then we're off again to get her to the extracurricular at the library today. Whew.

At work this morning - three weeks and a day and a half to go.

Worked until 7:45ish last night and then dd called asking if I wanted to join family and a few more for dinner at an asian restaurant - chinese, sushi, curries, hibachi, et al - was very good and nice to be out. Invited friends back up to house to see it afterward and dh and dkids were making noises about making coffee and picking up dessert - thank goodness friends suggested just stopping in for a quick tour. Walked ddogs after that and went to bed!

Long day at work planned for today.

Dfriend is here! It is so nice to see her. She has such an encouraging personality. . . .

I have read The Hiding Place and seen the movie. Dh's father was a friend/strong acquaintance of Corrie ten Boom's. At least, they did get together once in a while, before I was on the scene. . . . She was older than he. Maybe both being Christians in the Netherlands and both having survived WWII had something to do with it. Dfil survived by hiding in someone's attic for years. He was part of an underground newspaper, and he has never talked much about those years. I think I've shared this here before.

What is the extracurricular dd14 is doing, Harriet? Or maybe you don't want to share specifics. . .
I am up, have chatted with dfriend, have checked online bills, and have paid 2.

Today is ds's bday! I don't think I'll even see him today.

I do need to go to the groc. store today. And I may take dd14 to pick up the new lenses for her glasses. I also need to pick up a prescription lotion for her. Small group is tonight at 5. Dfriend will join us; she and her family used to be a part of this small group before they moved away.

It a cold rainy day here. Not going to complain as we need it.

Today at WM I'll be announcing that the Easter Bunny is there for a free 5x7 photo of Easter Bunny and child.

There is also hot dogs and chips being offered by the Garden Center for their opening for the year. Expecting lots of people there today.

Got to finish my morning things and get to the shower.

Sadie, do you do announcements at WMart often? I'd imagine you have good diction and a clear voice. So often I can't even understand what's being said, they say it so fast or haphazardly.

Extracurricular today sees dd14 painting and sketching for a play/mini-movie (?) that other students are putting on, helia. So she's being creative, but behind the scenes for others, so I don't quite know what to call it, lol. She is a member of an art club at school, but this full group moving into a bit of casual theater is a little unusual for her. Because she'll be working with acrylics she didn't have everything she needed yet, so we scooted to Hobby Lobby this a.m. One hope the group has is that she can give personality to a couple masks, so she has those here drying after base coats of skin tones/shadow. Another art club member will be riding with us to the library. I've got a call in to her mother now.

Singing this afternoon so I skipped exercising and physio this morning and got going.

Kitchen weekly chores are done.

Bathrooms are cleaned.

Laundry is folded and put away.

Bedroom level is dusted.

I've made and eaten lunch. (Still have to clean that up.)

I have just an hour now so will do a round of physio after cleaning up the kitchen, then dress and start heating up the dinner to go into a thermos.

Ds called this morning with lots of news. First, his income tax refund came so he now has all the money he needs for Australia. So he has set September 28 as his departure date. Secondly, he wants to invite dd's godbrother out for dinner this week (and maybe Easter Monday, too.) J has been depressed lately and his mom and sister are worried about him so contacted ds. He tried to get him to go out last night with no luck but hopes a meal with 'family' will get him out of his shell. Thirdly, ds is coming here to sleep tomorrow night. Fourthly, the other person who was up for the job he applied for has withdrawn so it looks like he'll have an extra job starting around the beginning of April. That will guarantee lots of hours for him (he'll be guaranteed 3 shifts a week instead of 1 but in actual fact it will mean he'll have closer to 5 shifts a week. Finally, he has a lot of shifts coming up (because of Easter weekend lots of people wanted time off) and is helping the Third Amigo move next weekend so he'll be very busy the next 10 days. All the shifts mean he should have enough money to pay for all his dental work before he leaves as well.

This is our last day of stay-cation. This week has not gone as we thought it might, however a break in routine has been experienced so we will count it as good. I'm looking forward to returning to our "normal"
