Today is simply Saturday for me - back to the ordinary!

Last Saturday of tax season and it looks like I don't have to work....have checked in with three partners with whom I still have extensions going and they will call me if needed today.

This is a huge boon as I had thought I'd do well to work today and not tomorrow and now have the weekend off, and Monday in my sights.

Macs is feeling better and he and Moe got me up before I was ready today so a nap will be in order. May try for a pedicure with or without dd and her dfriend, they came home late last night.

Good Morning to all

Twins - I'm excited for you making to the end of the tax season.

I am off to a good start. Although I did forget to plug in smartphone last night (it needs to charge every night) so I am without the 15 minute bell to help me stay on track. I miss it! I'll leave smartphone on the charger until we leave and hopefully it will be charged enough to make it through the day.

Saturday is biscuit day in our home. They guys love fresh biscuits so we have them once a week. After 5 days of vegetable/fruit for breakfast, they are ready for their "reward". It's a compromise in progress. I have misplaced their favorite biscuit recipe so I am trying a recipe today that is similar, Their favorite biscuit recipe requires the ingredients to be mixed at least 12 hours before rolling out. We will see if this is the right recipe ....or not.

LO has 2 ball games this morning (back-2-back). There are several family members coming to watch him. Between the little one antics while learning the game and the family members, it shouldn't be boring.

I left tons of dishes in the sink, on the counter and knowing me they may be hidden lol.
so off to the kitchen mines to chip away at what I should have done yesterday.

dd older came home last night to chill. it's nice she is only 2 hours away. she goes back today.

I'm up at sun rise, winds woke me up as the storm they predicted blew in today. I've done the chicken chores and that's about all.
My B.S. is up a bit so I've taken my morning meds. as well.

Cocoa coffee is great today brewed the coffee while I was doing the chicken chores, the hens were still on their roost this morning so I guess I woke them up.

I showed babyN. one of the young pullets yesterday when she saw it up close she got all excited. Her granny works at a fruit stand and at my request brought a bag of apples for the chickens you know they loved that! I'm being careful not to give them too many.

I need to check my phone that I plugged in last night also.

Morning y'all...
"Little boy" Willis....there ain't nothin' little about the boy.....got me up today with kisses on my face. Just like a kid he wanted his breakfast.

I subbed yesterday and it was pure joy. I've had this team of kids three times in the past so they understand my expectations and respect them. What a pleasure. I greet them at the beginning of class with a handshake and a "good morning" making personal comments as they come in the classroom.

Yesterday my " tough guy" call along with 8 of his buddies, both guys and girls came looking for me before school started and at lunch time just to say hi. I had them for the last two periods of the day and they were a delight. I am really enjoying teaching regular kids... All 34 of them in each period...something I've never had the opportunity to do before.

Today is simple for me. Water plants outside, remove dust in LR, pick up footprints, drop off library books, catch the matinee show at my jr hs, and enjoy or friends at the car show. Simple pleasures make for a great day.....

Day and upcoming weeks are in flux.

Minister called requesting to go on sick leave. Her dizziness is too much to handle. The confirmation group have been postponed - their last two classes were this weekend and her dh brought her out to do it but she just couldn't manage so he took her home. Confirmation will take place in June now instead of April 21.

I'll lead the service in my church tomorrow and someone will do it for the second church. The service is all ready, I just have to read the sermon. I've told her I'm not available for April 21. That gets trickier because there is no sermon written like there is for tomorrow.

The Tuesday Pastoral Charge board meeting has been moved to my house. It is also our triennial visit from Presbytery, so that is also at my house. The minister will Skype in for the meeting to make it 'legal.'

If the minister goes on longer sick leave, the salary is covered by insurance and then the Charge can pay me to do services. If that happens, then I'll cancel my road trip to Nashville. I can't cancel the cruise (or April 21, seeing my friend is too important to me) but Nashville would be easy to cancel. I think I'd even get a partial refund on the conference fees and the hotel is easy to cancel. Because we are driving, there are no airline tickets to worry about.

So I'm scrambling here. I'll get the taxes off today and then get my church responsibilities up to date, including prepping the service.

Dh has a conference call on Tuesday nights so we'll check out to see if his laptop will work at the church office. That will open up bandwidth for me since I don't think we can handle to Skype video calls simultaneously here.

Good morning!

I slept in today & feel well rested & ready to go. Dh had an early appointment so he took care of feeding the pets & taking ddog out. After breakfast I did a pick up & put away in several rooms. I'm going to start Zone 3 a day early & go work up in the attic today. I need to clear Christmas misc off of one table & then start working on the fun part -- organizing the fabric on the other table. A few months ago we moved the dresser that was holding my fabric into the basement, & put together two tall, lightweight plastic cupboards to replace it. They are each a few inches wider than a bolt of fabric, & have several moveable shelves. Much easier access than drawers.

Wonderful work in your attic, Dove!

Kathryn, will definitely be in prayer for your minister - how discouraging to her to have so much to give and be hampered by this. It's physical, but must seem surmountable, because you can't SEE it. No wonder she keeps trying and being pushed back.

I'm so proud of dd14, who has an awful crick in her neck but still mowed the whole yard today after her ddad got the edges. I'm dismayed at myself, though. I stayed outside and picked up limbs and twigs, forgetting that I had just colored my hair. No hat. Dense.

Anyway, I finished getting the service ready (for me - I'm particular how things are written out.) Her sermons are 50% longer than mine so it will be a long sermon tomorrow. I changed the formatting so it suited me. She doesn't do line breaks between paragraphs but I need those to make me take pauses or else I rush through things. I also reformatted some of the sentences for more emphasis.

Prayers are ok, but not great. I'll use them. I need to go over the children's story some more. It is not polished at all.

After that I started in on my report to the joint board but got distracted and then a really bad stitch in my side. Eventually went to bed for an hour and watched tv. Didn't help the stitch at all but vacuuming and dusting the bedroom level did. Go figure.

Dh cooked dinner, I cleaned up and the dishwasher is now running.

I have two loads of laundry to deal with and have to put the things back where they belong after vacuuming. I've invited the musician and her family for lunch tomorrow. You can tell I'm avoiding working on paperwork - the dining room table is all set up for me to work so I'll have remove the extra monitor, my computer, etc. if she accepts.
