Hello Dear Ladies,
I know I've AWOL for awhile.
Got sick on Thursday and didn't work Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Sat in my recliner and watched The West Wing on Netflix for hours. That was the extent of my energy level.
Got my laundry done yesterday. Today is kitchen day and I'm cooking two batches of lunch so I can get ahead.
Dson22 is sick now too. This has to be our worst year for sickness. Maybe because we all out in different areas doing things, bringing back new illnesses to each other. But I am ready for it to stop.
Going to take a shower and then work a little more in the kitchen.
Sharon text me from the hospital. They haven't done surgery on her DDad, his kidneys are having problems. Plus they discovered he had been in a car wreck some time before he came home and fell so looks like there are problems from that too. Her one brother from out of state is with her and she is glad he made it in.
Yes my prayers are with Boston today too, for the victims and survivors and pray that justice is done.
Will cuop for awhile too.
Great day to all!
Tuesday in Training

Yes, having a hard time staying on track. It is sunny and beautiful outside!! --That's my excuse.
I have finished the a.m. routine, sent the organizational emails, responded to social email from dfriend in TX, and I've run a set of errands: TJ for sundry items, including cheeses (emmentaler and gruyere - too expensive and no gruyere at my regular grocery) for cheese fondue, which dh has requested for his bday dinner Thursday, pet store for g. pig food and vitamins, coffee place for specialty coffee beans for dh.
I'm off for a jog now; I'll start chopping onions, etc. for dinner when I get back. Then, I'll leave w/ dd14 for her oboe lesson about 15 minutes after I return from my jog. We have a small window of time for making and eating dinner tonight: I'll be home around 6:10, if lucky, after dropping off dd14 at her next activity, and dd17 is leaving at 7:00 for babysitting job. Dd14 will then be picked up from water polo game(she is watching her friends play) at 7.

Re: Tuesday in Training
Home again. Yes, Harriet, Hob Lob is close - I very much enjoyed walking through and got some fake flowers for our mantel that were 50% off. I had a 40% off coupon for an item at regular price but somehow lost it before I got there.
I also stopped off at a Tuesday Morning and walked through - I got a small rug with a padded mat for the kitchen. It's very pretty - almost too pretty and uncharacteristic in my house - but I think I like having something different.
Full round of groceries unloaded and put away. I forgot to take dry cleaning and need to run back out to drop it off. Thinking I will give myself a bit of down time for awhile.
The massage therapist hasn't called me back - she may be booked up or not in town this week. I'm thinking I'll go ahead and schedule my pedicure and tentatively schedule the trip to ATL for Thursday. There is an event at temple on Friday night at which I should appear so would be better to do trip on Thursday.
6,500 steps between usual activity, walking the ddogs, groceries and the HobLob trip.

Re: Tuesday In Training
Today I'm back from town carpool; errands, got the donations & lib. books dropped off, did a store run. Home in time to feed pullets lunch, have had mine too.
Baked a cake with dgd. I was in trouble for making cookies w/out her "help" yesterday
so trying to make up for it today. They had jiffy small mixes on sale so stocked up on a few of those to have on hand. Hoping they will work just as well for snacks & lunches. We put white and ch. chips on the top when it was done to spread around like frosting on top a very thin coat of it that was sparse too.
Time to think about ex. bike.

Re: Tuesday in Training
Hello. I am here, procrastinating on my present job.
Sorry for the challenges I read so many of you are having. (Sadie) (Harriet - yesterday) etc. etc. Twins, do you feel relieved that tax season is done or do you have a lot of extensions to do?
I am in the middle of cleaning out my office closet. 6' wide, and 6 wire shelves all the way across, plus the area on the floor underneath the bottom shelf...and it's all stacked full. Bankers boxes are full and I need to start others but there is no place to put any, so I don't know what I'm going to do. There's no other place for storage...garage with our humidity doesn't really work for this stuff...
I have a card table set up but am having to work with one section at a time since I don't have room enough to empty all of it out, which is what it truly needs. I dream of the day we aren't in business any more and I can start to shred...

Harmony, I am truly done with working for now. I'm leaving open the option of working next tax season on a limited basis, but between you and me, it doesn't feel likely right now. Next week I will clean up/clean out my desk.
Going to run out to the cleaners now...

Re: Tuesday in Training
I don't have much energy left this afternoon. It is 90* outside and about 84* inside. I have the whole house fan on and three small at open windows. Not totally unbearable, but I'm not doing heavy work, just small things.
S. Army was just here to pick up and all they took was the sofa. Maybe the truck was out of room. I will call Goodwill for the rest; I'm sure I can add some more items in the meantime.
Harmony, That's a lot of files! The sofa and loveseat are the color of coffee with double cream, not real dark and not too light. Material is a soft weave, but not microfiber.
Sadie & ds, feel better soon.
Lilac, sending encouragement for your dh.
Harriet, your family is fortunate to have your guidance.
Hello to everyone. That's all I can remember now. I need to get another glass of ice water.

Re: Tuesday in Training
Let's have a P A R T Y!!!!
Twins - Congratulations!!! I'm thrilled for you
This morning brought back memories of my former life.....i was out of the house before 7am and joined the line of vehicles headed toward big town. However, today was a fun day and not a work day. During the workshop lunch time I went to the nursery and filled the front of the pickup up with flats of flowers and vegetable starts. After the workshop a 300 gallon water storage cube was loaded into the back of the pickup. The workshop gave away 20 of these water storage cubes and I came home with one of them.
I'm not sure this water harvest project will be implemented this year, however it is definitely in the learning and planning stage.
So many projects I want to work on. While typing this I am listening to podcast about the Mittleirder gardening method. I am also fascinated by it. I think setting up their recommended automatic water system will be my next project.

Hope you can stay cool, Sunny!
((Sadie and family)) Feel better soon!
OKay, how does Mittleider differ from Mel Bartholemew, then, in how you would prepare the soil with nutrients? I have long considered square-ft to be the ideal nutrition, but I know Mittleider is more exacting. I'm pretty sure Mittleider would have suggested something different than the determinate bush tomatoes I bought this year and would have staked with pruning instead. I never have been good at either of those chores as far as continuing maintenance. Also will you consider the PVC pipe? I don't think I ever had a better watered garden than when I had the mini diameter soaker hose and if I were to garden again in anything more than a 4x4 I'd probably hope to find one of those again instead.
What flowers did you choose? Boy, you and Twins have the best times!
My dear2ndCousin with the truck farm and greenhouse was out at his mailbox as I drove in today - he says his tomatoes look great this year!
Multitude of errands compacted by (I hope) wise travel scooting. But pharmacy 1 did not have prescription ready. Sigh. So I may be right back out again. I spent my first 50 cents of 2013 on library fees. Ah, well. It was the better part of valor for me to help B yesterday instead. Picked up 2 more books while I was there, both of which I just saw at B & N booksellers for more than $20 each and both of which are quite newly published, 2011, ones I have considered. (So I guess I had a pretty good time, too.)
