Goals for the day.....

The potatoes are in the toaster oven, dishes done. Now I just need to mow and shower. Dh keeps saying he can mow, but I had it in my schedule. So off to mow....

Re: Successful Saturday
Lilac I'm so glad you posted about potatoes the reminds me I was going to get some for the chickens!
It's raining here today h. is watching toons! LOL
I got up late it was raining the hens did not seem to mind waiting until the rain stopped to get up. I've been out to feed the chickens. No eggs yesterday that is rare that they all took the day off on the same day. The spring egg push is over. I'll need to buy eggs if we are going to have deviled eggs and omlettes this weekend.
I have hubby's jeans pre-washed and spot treated they are in the reg. wash now at least part of them the others will be soon as these others are in the dryer.
Art Date got journal to write in some on had decorated, a book by one of my fav. preachers.
Yesterday I enjoyed a day of solitude for most of the day with no kids here I was able to embrace peace and get some much needed clarity! Decided what to get for our 40th ann. lg. screen TV for H. we will need a diff. stand for it also.

Re: Successful Saturday
Twins - Welcome home! ((((hugs)))) Hopefully this will be a big wake up call for DD re: fast driving. Thankfully it is only a ticket and not an accident!
Last night graduation ceremonies had a complete tear jerking moment. Last week one of the Seniors was in a fatal wreck (her fault). She died just one week before she would have graduated from high school. Last night her gown was displayed on the chair that she would have sat in. Her Mother took her daughters place in walking across the stage and accepting the diploma. Everyone was on their feet in support.
TBall game was forfeited since enough players didn't show up. We didn't discover it until we arrived. 80 miles of driving for nada (20 miles there/20 back for 2 vehicles since DH and myself had to drive separately) Frustrating..........
On the way home, I stopped by and looked at a home for sale. I loved the isolated location and surroundings, however it would take more maintenance than i want to commit to.
Nancy - Thanks for the reminder about 40 anniversary. Ours is coming up in a couple of months. I had let it slip out of my mind and don't have a clue how we should celebrate it..

Re: Successful Saturday
Have sent DH to grocery store with a list of suggested items and coupons. Not feeling well enough to even care what he ends up with! Have a cold or allergies starting. Coughing fit in the night was not good for my incisions. Luckily, DH found a cough drop in his coat pocket. That saved me!
Enjoying your graduation stories. Happy travels to those of you on the road.

Straightened all of Mike's drawers and his side of the closet.
Shredded more calendars. Why did I have multiple calendars for almost every year? Other than the fact that the duplicates were mostly recipes and had no writing in them, I don't know. Shredded some old pictures as well.
Had an orange. Contemplating what to have for lunch.

Dd's friend was just picked up by her ddad, dh is home from Torah study and ds is up and about. Dh and dd are doing battle and dh rescinded my decision that she could use the car to see D&P today. They will have to come pick her up. Ds and dd have been cooking so I'll clean up the kitchen now.
-clear kitchen kitchen counters
-start the dishwasher
-start a lol
Atmosphere is pretty toxic since dh got home. I think I'll nap after this round.
Yes, and I keep telling myself that things could be much much worse - she has Bs and one C this semester, has a decent GPA, doesn't drink alcohol to excess and isn't pregnant. This will be a very expensive ticket, however, Dh thinks possibly over $1,000.Hopefully this will be a big wake up call for DD re: fast driving. Thankfully it is only a ticket and not an accident!

Re: Successful Saturday
CathyS, your energy & motivation are just what I need today. Reading about your progress so far is very inspiring. Post away -- you are doing great!
Hope the severe storms pass you by, Lilac.
Another busy day for you, Helia. I'll bet everyone who visits you loves playing with Maia.
Harriet, I have the same issues with watering & waiting for rain. I read recently that a man wants his local weatherman demoted from Meteorologist to "Weather Guesser" because he has tracked how often the local forecast is wrong.
I hope you have no further bouts of sickness, Kathryn. After cuop from several days I noticed one time you were vomiting & considering going to ER, but were OK a few hours later. I had a similar experience (coincidentally also after eating pizza) & went to the ER because the combination of pain & vomiting really scared me. That's when I found out I had stones in my gallbladder. Dr explained that eating anything fatty causes the GB to start working & if there are any stones they sometimes block the tube leading out of the GB, which causes those symptoms.
Speaking of which, (((hugs))) to dElly -- I read that you had to have emergency surgery to have yours removed. Hope you are feeling better & better every day. I'm so sorry you have a cold or allergies while you are recovering.
How frustrating about the long drive to & from TBall, OKay. Glad you are getting the rain you need, though.
Welcome home, Twins. Hope you had a marvelous vacation!
Hi Nancy, I'm glad you were able to enjoy a day of solitude, yesterday. Congrats on your upcoming 40th anniversary!
I've been in a quiet mood for a couple of weeks. Not posting much, not keeping up with posts sometimes for weeks at a time. At home I've been completely sidetracked. My planner & cardfile are collecting dust. Dh & I have been out of the house a lot so that is part of the problem -- my basic week plan is in tatters. I've been trying to do something in each zone regularly, even if it is only one day a week, since that was my goal for this year. Meanwhile, laundry piles up (I won't run appliance when I'm not home or asleep; dmil dryer caught on fire once & I remember that Helia's dishwasher did, too --scary!), meals are haphazard, & I haven't been planning. There is a large list in my head of on my mind things -- perhaps I should get that down on paper today.
I think some of my mood is because of recent tragedies. I keep thinking of those who lost limbs needlessly in Boston, & about the three women who endured unspeakable cruelty.
Closer to home, I miss Indi
. Sometimes I read old archives & posts of hers to "hear" her voice.
I guess I've been not just quiet but a little blue as well. I'm going to stop watching or reading the news for a while. It was comforting to come here last night & cuop. I love the closeness of our little village.
Someone had asked about sheets -- I remake the guest bed with clean sheets right away in case anyone stops by unexpectedly. Dbro works closer to me than to his own home & during busy times will sometimes work late, sleep here, & go back to work early the next morning. Make it so much easier for him not to have to add a long commute to an already long day.
Let's see, today is the last day of Zone 3 which for me is the attic & basement. I need to go down & flip laundry, but think I'll put in some time on decluttering down there, too, since CathyS has inspired me today
. The basement remodel we want to do can't happen until we clear out more stuff.
Waving ~~~~ to everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Re: Successful Saturday
DOVE--I know what you mean about recent tragedies. I have had all that stuck in my head, too. It is good to step away from the news sometimes.
Change of plans, here. The car battery died on DH while he was out doing errands. So I had to get dressed and drive to him to get the battery jumpstarted. We got back home and he has now taken the bad battery to trade in for a new one. At least I drove a lot better today than when I drove myself to Urgent Care in the midst of gb attack last week. DH was out of town, so I then took an ambulance ride to hospital. When it rains, it pours!
I was very uneasy about him leaving town last week. Looking back, we can see why.
Also, DOVE, what you described about a gallstone blocking the duct is exactly what I had. The biggest one was lodged in there. I had 3 attacks in 2 weeks and thought it was reflux. On a happy note, the doctor says my "reflux" may not be very bad at all. Some of my issues with that were likely gb related.
LILAC, hoping I will be like your DH and able to eat anything after this. If not, it is enough to have the pain gone!
