This is the last week in May - for those of us who holiday-ed yesterday, today "starts" the week that will end the month of May.
There's lots to be done, especially after a long weekend!

Re: Tuesday - End the Month of May
This morning was Desk Day for our household. Between school run and my ddad's morning routine:
wrapped a gift
RSVP-ed to wedding invitation
handled a bill
partly cleaned out my purse
printed 2 wks fitness journal pages
Regret not giving dd cortizone cream for her bookbag - she has a mosquito bite and they are hard on her. Also wish I'd sprayed her ankles now that we know mosquitos are buzzing right now. In fact, just thinking about it, I just emailed her to say call me if the itching gets bad.
Yes we are coming down to the wire for school stuff. There is one more big project and I'm irritated that the weekend's snafus - not knowing when the other family would have dd over - cut into time for that. I also told them clearly she needed to be back to work on it yesterday, but they didn't get her back until late afternoon. Just oblivious. I think spring fever (summer fever?) affects some parents, too. I hate to say it, but dd will have to go straight to homework every evening this week until that's finished. Studying for exams is supposed to be happening now and she's behind.
If dd33's family comes this weekend it will really suit me well, since dd14 has a big-deal birthday party to attend next weekend that will probably turn into a sleepover, we've already committed, and I hate to have a conflict that keeps them from seeing each other much.
Waiting on the return of a Dreaded Phone Call.

Re: Tuesday - End the Month of May
I'm up. Rough sleep last night - couldn't fall asleep due to being cold but was too tired to get out of bed to get an extra blanket. Then, in my squirming, I pulled a muscle around my knee which is still hurting this morning.
I gardened yesterday so I expected to be stiff and I keep telling myself that's the source of my troubles. Will need to focus on physio and icing today.
Weight is not coming back down after the trip (I was up 3 lbs. and was already up.) Of course, I'm not doing anything constructive to bring it down. I meant to but with all the church stuff I've been eating way too much.

Re: Tuesday - End the Month of May
Oy, on phone w docs office this morning - originally dd had an appointment scheduled for June 24, which I have managed to reschedule to tomorrow with another doc in the practice. Phone call back to original dr that we saw last week to be sure that there wasn't a reason that he chose the first one so I think we're good. Now probably should reschedule our hair appointment which falls 1.5 hours after the doc appointment.
Now I have to finish up my writing for temple bulletin, a.m. routine, including walking ddogs, and head out toward ATL by 11 or 11:30.

Re: Tuesday - End the Month of May
Wondering why nobody's "signature lines" are showing up....no, wait -Twins shows up but I don't see any for Harriet, Kathryn or Okay. Hmmm...........
Dh would probably be clean 'n green!
Dh just came in for keys to the Comet to take it to be inspected. DS-A got it registered, licensed so dh can have it to drive this summer. But they want to 'borrow' it to go 'cruisin' once in a while. Nice that he'll have something when he recuperates (when I have our car out).
Raining now and it looks like it will be for some time. Our neighbors are getting a new RV today -saw the old one go out but didn't realize it was theirs. Anxious to see what they get.
Time to s2s and get busy. Lazy start to the day -I tested bs (81) earlier & had to eat about 6:30 and then I've just goofed off. Have to remember I only have today & tomorrow to get anything much done around here. From there on for several days will be spent at the hospital. Think that's one of the most tiring things there is -for sitting all day. All I ask is a smooth transition for dh. He's earned it. We do have a few things we need to talk about before he goes in. The type of things we like to 'put off'. Not much, and we both pretty well know each other's desires.

Yep, evidently according to the 'grape vine' at our church in FL.Dee: Coronary by-passes and bowel surgery - getting all the pipes cleaned out at once?!

((Dee)) Yes, smooth transition. How nice to have the "neighborhood property values" improve in one drive - where else could that happen!
I'm not using a signature line right now. When I have lately, it's been the one about being realistic. I'll stick it in here to make sure they are showing up.
Kathryn, so sorry about the night's sleep. I have a feeling when you begin getting news and reports from your other half again you'll begin to start thinking constructively again, too. You've had a lot to do, but also felt "on hold", I'm sure.

If you don't believe in miracles, you're not being realistic.

Re: Tuesday - End the Month of May
I realized that, Harriet, after mine showed up. It was just unusual to see the 3 of you with no siggy.
Had an email over the weekend from dh's cardiologist that I couldn't open. Just called them & it was for his appointment in the Cath Lab on Thursday. I was hoping they didn't have something else 'goofed up'. Can breathe again.
Yes, MT, that is one mistake dh will probably never make again -anywhere. At least it was our own bath that needed the scrub down.
Oooooo, nice! The new 'park model' just drove by. Jeff has been sitting in the rain in his truck, waiting. There's been quite a few park models going in here this spring. If one has a 'permanent' spot, makes sense over the fifth wheels that a lot have -and never move them. They're a very sweet family & certainly deserve this!
Ok, I AM going to s2s now and get something done. I at least have the bed made & spent about 5-7 minutes picking up on our deck. Dh filled two humming bird feeders. Now to wait & see if they come. (If you build it, they will come. Right?)

Re: Tuesday - End the Month of May
((HUGS)) to so many here. Yes, thinking of Kathryn not being able to hear from Ken for a while. It seems to me someone else here is in a similar position, with a ds, maybe?? Cowinkie's ds on the AP trail, I think. . . . Thinking of Dee with upcoming medical procedures for dh (glad the Dr. and hospital have excellent reputations!! So helpful.) and Twins dd with the fractured foot and Elizabeth with xdh pains and her dd with the broken leg - and other concerns here I'm sure I'm forgetting or of which I'm unaware since I'm not particularly systematic re: cuoping here.
It is 9:30 and I haven't done much, but I feel virtuous anyway b/c I went for a jog w/ dh first thing this morning. It was drizzly when we started and a gentle rain was falling by the end, but I didn't mind b/c I was hot - had taken off my jacket mid-jog - and the cool rain actually felt good. I used my garmin training watch for the first time, so I can tell you all that I went 2.6 miles - and I went at such a slow pace I'm embarrassed to even mention it. But, I was comfortable the whole time and could have kept going longer, which I will have to at the run on Sunday. I'll be fine. I'll be extremely slow, even slower than last year, but I'll be fine.
I have connected with dfriend via email, and I'll bring her meal over around 4:15. I'll need to leave the house a little before 4.
SO. . my todos:
- a.m. routine
- check online bills
- laundry - towels
- start brisket in the oven by noon
- start the breadmaker around 11:30
- maybe a few more Hebrew verses; I left class early last week so I'm not exactly sure where we'll be starting today
- finish resume - I didn't work on it yesterday
- baked potatoes in the oven around 2?
- dfriend here for knife demo at 2
- throw together simple spinach and apple salad
- gather dessert and accessories to the meal
- leave at 4 to bring meal to dfriend
- Heb. class 5:05 - 6:05
- date night - w/ ds this week
- pick up dd15 (
) and friend from driving at 8 pm
Child spacing ramblings: Dd15 turned 15 on Sunday!! My kids are always 2 years apart in the summer; in the fall, they are 1 and 3 years apart, in the spring they are 2 and 3 years apart. Ds and dd17 are 18 months apart in age, dd15 and dd17 are 2 years 7.5 months apart. If they had been spaced a little farther apart, we might have had/adopted a fourth child. As it was, I was at my limits with a newborn. a 2.5 year old, and a 4 year old AND a dh that traveled a lot. And family was thousands of miles away. Thankfully, I had some super awesome friends who helped and gave emotional support. Also, I'm pretty independent by nature - but there were some hard days, for sure. Some of you here had 4+ kids closer together in age than my 3. I don't know how you did it! Thinking of Dee? and MT - and others I probably don't know about. --Sorry, I'm waxing nostalgic and rambling right now.
Off to work!!
