WELLNESS WEDNESDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

Can't think of anything to title this morning. So feel free to give it your own!

I'm slowly getting around this morning. Didn't get up until almost 7:30. Dh has gone out for a stroll. Strolling would be good, but he's stopped so often and the standing is not good. Dneighbor -2 away realizes he needs to keep moving & comes out and walks with him as far as he goes. Have a feeling he's gone a lot further this morning.

Time for me to s2s and whip this abode into shape. It is sunny for a change. Yay! Maybe dh can sit on the deck for a while today. I have to go take care of a few things in dd's MH. She'll be here (if all goes according to plan) by late Friday. Know she's very anxious to see her ddad.

Have taken meds and that's it. No further along than that.

Kathryn, your descriptions of your hospital room are a good mimic of dh's. He too, did not have the window bed -would have been so much nicer. Just no room and definitely no space to sit.
Also, it tells if he is using it regularly.
Oh, that is SO important, Lilac. Since sleep apnea was dd's cause of death -we know she was not using her cpap. Never knew they now had something to tell if it was being used correctly -of course since she was no longer using hers, it's a mute point. Always glad to hear of those using them and I agree it has to be a pain.

Dee, then I felt invited to title the thread :) and had been thinking how much we want everyone well. Since Dee opened, I know this is what we want for her household! ((Kathryn)), I believe, is the only one among our families actually hospitalized right now. But several are really, really tired of testing and doctors' offices and ER and stitches, sniffles and cuts and ouches!

It occurs to me to try to list all our dear adults who are healing lately, but it will be a long post! So I will send out a blanket "Get Well Soon"! and just mention the healing children (help me if I forget someone), Lilac's dgd, Elizabeth's dd and Twins Daughter (yes, she's still a children). And small healer with a big trauma, Lily the kitty.

The story here is the extended family wedding on Saturday and getting ready for dd33's family to arrive Friday evening. Dstepdil usually helps us with any work over at my parents' house, but her mother is unwell and she's giving a lot of time there lately, can't come. Dd14 has an invitation that will take her away by this late-afternoon, possibly spending two nights (yipes) so if I'm going to get work out of her I'd better hurry.

Yes, definitely wishing and praying for wellness for many here. Thank you for including my fur-child on your list, Harriet.

It is almost 9 am and I haven't done too much. I said good bye to the girls, fed the ddogs, watered the g. pigs, medicated and fed the cat, played with the puppy a bit, said good bye to ds. No accidents from Maia so far today. Pepper is helping babysit. :) I also looked up the address of dd15's oboe teacher so I can put a check to her in the mail.

I snacked WAY too much yesterday. I need to get back to better eating.

I'm getting ready to head out for a morning jog now. It is 70* outside right now - not too hot, but I will be hot when I'm finished.

WooHoo! I am heading to Menards today. I started looking at that receipt again because I need to send it in for the 11% Rebate special. It needs to be mailed by June 25. We bought the fans on May 31, instead May25, so if I go today, I am still under the 14 day sale adjustment deadline. I would rather have the $64 back on the fans than the $23 rebate. It will be worth another trip in there. We are debating getting a Menards credit card. If you use it, you get a 2% refund credit at the end of the year. We will pay it off monthly. With all the things we will be buying for home improvements, that 2% will add up.

I'm up but not a happy camper. Another waiting day for me.

I need to be moving more so have set a timer for five minutes. For the first while I'll focus on 5 minutes every thirty minutes. I think I'll keep my slippers on since putting them on takes me almost 5 minutes.

The night wasn't bad but wasn't great either. The IV is off again so going to the bathroom is easier. Our room cleaner took a 20 minute break in the middle of the job so I'm waiting for the floor to dry before I get up but I'm sitting on the edge of the bed instead of lying on it while I wait. My roommate will be using the bathroom today, as well, so I have to be aware of her timing.

BS was 157 better than it has been for the past almost week so that it good I was joking about the bs factor here this morning for a breakfast smile!

Today my oops was I forgot to close the chicken's run they went to roost any way and were there and fine today I remembered in the night but did not want to traipse in the dark out there to close it up.

Great thought and title, Harriet! Perfect!

Dh is snoozing in the anti-gravity chair on the deck right now. Dneighbor from across the road is trimming our yard right now & he's sleeping right through it. Going to make a short run to (W egmans) THE grocery store of choice in our area in a while. Dh is going to do a short walk in for his early afternoon jaunt. He wants some rice pudding or tapioca. Whatever he'll eat is fine with me. Friends brought us clam chowder, clams casino & another friend brought brownies & cabbage & polish sausage. All were down to earth yummy! Sure our dneighbor right by us will be bringing him rosa marina salad this weekend. She always makes extra for him and it's something he loves.

DD called a while ago and at this point is anxious for the hours to go by when it will be time for gd to return to the ranch. It's probably been a real good reminder for her why gd is where she is!

I'm trying to pick up footprints in here while dh is outside. Spent probably 10 minutes picking up on the deck. I really would like to buy a new table/chairs set for out there, but not till dh is back earning a living. We have funds ok, but I'm more frugal when there's not extra coming in. And we have to think about getting a new car before long. The $1,500 we just spent getting this one fixed was supposed to go toward the down payment. Our other consideration is, of course, the increase in health care this year. Went up quite a bit. So had to budget for that.

Back to being a picker-upper.

Good morning, villagers ~

I've been trying to stay caught up on the news here with doctors and all. Not much to report myself, a lot of things still up in the air.

Yesterday: Desk work all morning, errands in The Big City in the afternoon, and out to supper with DH and a couple friends.

The sun just came out. I had planned to go back to The Big City this afternoon and make the rounds for groceries and household supplies. Unfortunately, just heard the weather forecast for after lunch. This sunshine will be gone almost immediately. Severe storms will roll through in a couple hours with hail, possible tornado. Yuck.

Even if I jumped in the car right this minute, I wouldn't get back home in time and would be caught out in a storm on the road. Messy weather will all be done by tomorrow so I'll wait and go then.

I've been doing chores all morning and answering Emails. Next up is a nap, then lunch, then it depends on what kind of storms we get and if the electricity stays on. :|

This may be a good afternoon to hide in the basement with a good book. I found some good ones at the book sale. I was trying to hold off reading any until I'd caught up on other work (way too easy to get sidetracked with books! ;) ), but we've had the power flicker off and on with every recent storm. If bad weather is going to force me to read, I guess I'll just have to cope. :)

I like that kind of 'forcing', Booksaver! Just ordered a few 'cheapies' from A mazon so should be in good shape for a little while. Need to find something that dh can get engrossed by. DD found one last year that dealt with all the classified work he did for K odak for years -things that were now declassified. He found it all extremely interesting. Found a lot of info on things done by other companies on different sides of what he was doing. He really likes history and biographies. So guess I should look. He uses his K indle F ire a lot.

Ahhh, a very quiet day here. I was up at five to take dh to the airport. I'm not used to getting up so early. Went back to bed around 8 and slept in until 10:30. I'm finishing an iced coffee now, still need to get ddogs out for a walk...

It's just me and ds here until Sat afternoon/evening so it feels almost like a vacation.

-walk dogs
-second breakfast, brunch or lunch?
-temple board email reminder
-Start dishwasher
-call back nursing home, biz office left a message for me yesterday
