Good Morning!

I have to admit - the first thing that came to my mind when I read that Father's Day trivia was the MOM!

This is my first Father's Day without my Dad. I am thankful for soooooo many fun memories of him. I'll stop by his grave today and put a Happy face sticker on it. I know that sounds weird, but DDad would like it.

Breakfast has been cooked (bacon/eggs/biscuits) and served. LO is slowly waking up. He has been snuggled and tucked into a quilt on the couch to finish waking up. I told him we will be walking out the door in an hour to go to church so he has about 15 minutes before starting on his AM cards.

I stepped on the scales this morning and they show a 13.6 lb lose since I started WW a month ago. This isn't official since I didn't get a chance to weigh in last week, but I'm still happy about unofficial weight loss.

Slowly getting the MH loaded. Still have to do some swifting around here.

Somethings I have asked DH to do for days have not been done - but he has been trying.

I'm up. Slept pretty well. Only made it 5 hours from evening pill to waking in pain and needing another pill. But then almost 6 until I woke again in pain. I took only one this morning and am hoping it will be enough. I'm going to try 4 hour intervals one one pill instead of 6 hours on 2, today. I've also heard that day three after surgery is often the toughest and that is today for me.

I've had my tea and chocolate. Will have some cereal and fruit next. My insides are negotiating food today. More gas. Also a metalic taste after the chocolate. Not sure what that is about.

It's most likely the pain meds, Kathryn. Dh has also complained of the same metallic taste for a lot of things. I seem to remember that from pain meds before! We had the best night of sleep we've had so far. Dh actually slept in the bed from 9:30 last night to 8am today!! I got up once, woke up at 5;30 -heard the alarm out here at 6. Next thing I knew it was 8am! We did good! Yesterday was awful.

I thought of the poor Mom too, Okay!

Raining again this morning. Pumps are going again. Couldn't believe with no rain over night the water in the back of our lot was up to around 2".

Subscribed to our local newspaper online, but dh is having a dickens of a time getting it. May go back to just biting the bullet and paying nearly $40 a month instead of $13.

DD takes gd to the airport this morning. Dh is talking to dsonil right now -he has his Mom and his dsis going to pick her up at Orlando and taking her to the Youth Ranch. Dh says he's very disappointed in her actions and attitudes. She was dog sure we were having a surprise party for her last night -notta. The only reason she would acknowledge us at all is that our other 2 GDs were here and they're so attentive! She walked by and snubbed us until the other 2 stopped and gave us good-night hugs. She walked back and gave us a hug. Sad that she has to feel pressured into it. DD has already written her report for the week and will be mailing it tomorrow. Has plenty of comments. If anything, she really seems more self-centered and anti-everyone else.

Good morning!

We had a thunderstorm and rain last night, with high winds. Just talked to dd2. They lost power but it came on again during the night. Their new trampoline blew away. They had just had it a few weeks. Dsil used tie downs like they use on mobile homes. He went out this morning and there are holes where it ripped them out of the ground. Dd2 is more determined than ever to move back to town. It would be a lot more convenient for dd1 and I, as much as we babysit.

Dee, will your dd be able to stay with gd until she boards the plane? I hope so, because I wouldn't put it past her to try a disappearing act.

I picked up breakfast for dh at McDonalds and have given him his Father's Day gifts from me.

DD plans to stay with her until she has to direct her on to the plane and it's a direct flight. (IF they let her go back that far.) This has been said before by several people. Wouldn't put that past her, EXCEPT I think she's too scared to go off by herself. Though I expect she may give dd some verbal abuse. Do know that tomorrow she has to go to the Ranch office and take the "phone app" off her Ipod in front of the director. Hopefully they will be more diligent in checking her ipod. Here's dd. Better close this out.

Glad we did the father's day thing yesterday as it's supposed to be 92* here today. I'm up on time coughing but feeling better than I did yesterday at least my throat does not feel as bad as it did yesterday.

I've fed the chickens. Watered the back yard. Still need to do the front & side yd. One of the black hens is missing, I have not found a pile of black feathers so that is good news I suppose. Looked in the neighbor's yard where the hens used to hang out I did not see her there either. Sigh

Time for more coffee or something else that's hot if feels good on my throat.

Hi everybody!

I have almost nothing to do today. I want to write dd an email after seeing her last night.

I also need to make a phone call. I don't usually shrink away from e mails or phone calls, so this is weird for me.

Dh and I "snuck" away to Niagara Falls for a night. We rarely go there between mid May and mid October. Man, was it ever crowded!

Wanted to make sure I remembered to High Five Okay for her weight loss. Good for you... Also wanted to wish Sunny and her DH a belated happy anniversary .

Dee...I'm not surprised by your DGD's behavior. When trying to extinguish negative behaviors, it is very common that those same behaviors to elevate for a while. I was very surprised that the ranch allowed your dgd a visit home at all. I would think such a privilege...especially with extended traveling ...would have to be earned by your dgd.

I have done my morning duties and need to spend some time researching some information I need on my computer. Also need to think about whats for dinner tonight. The NBA Finals are on tonight and I don't want to be cooking while thats happening. Need to make a quick dash to the grocery store for just a few items as well. Have booked everything for our vacation on Sanibel Island in Sept. Now Mother Nature needs to honor my wishes and keep her blowin' winds and rain to herself while I am there. I am very aware that we will be on an outer island of Florida's west coast in the Gulf of Mexico during the hight of hurricane season.
