Hey!! We are back among the connected. We were at Teddy Roosevelt National Park last night with no internet connection.

Now we are at Lake Sakakjewea (or how ever you spell it - I've seen about 6 different ones on maps and signs along the highway)

North Dakota is in an oil boom. That means thousands of tanker trucks and lots of construction equipment on the roads. Farmers have turned some of their fields into huge dormitory or RV parking lots. The traffic was awful. That is why we turned south on the first main road we came to and headed for TR Park. Quiet there but no cell phone service.

I'll write all about it in my blog - with lots of pictures.

MT - Welcome back to the land of internet. :) That is interesting about oil boom. I remember when it happened here. It was crazy. At one time, I counted 14 burning oil wells that could be seen from my front porch (they could be seen shooting fire into the night sky)

Sadie - I am looking forward to it! Actually LO is. We are waiting for the tax free weekend to purchase his new boots. Just making that one purchase will be about a $10 savings. Our local store doesn't carry LO jean size or I would be stocking up on those too during that weekend. I order them online I hope your work days are not tooo crazy.

Harriet - LOL! I ordered the cake pan online a couple weeks ago but didn't give up hope of LO changing his mind. I have shamelessly attempted to tempted him with every bakery cake catalog in hopes of being lazy and just picking up a decorated cake. Last night I tried one more time however he never budged from his desire to have a Cheetah birthday cake.Meanwhile I sent out feelers to a couple local people who bake/decorate cakes, but didn't receive a positive reply. So this morning I finally made the decision to attempt it. I'm going to let LO do as much as possible so the memory of creating it might be better than the cake itself even if the cake doesn't turn out looking like it should.

It is the end of the first month that I have used new paper system. I am very pleased. This month I have processed to completion 371 packets of papers. I have 23 waiting to be processed and 8 on hold (waiting action by someone else). I ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON WITH PAPERWORK!!!

So pleased and proud you're conquering paper, Okay. :D

DDIL#2 and DS-A and family are coming here to camp this weekend. She's having a birthday cake made for gd15 and for dgd18's graduation. Will do the birthday on Saturday & graduation party on Sunday. DGD's other Grandma called today to invite us to a party for GD's graduation next Saturday (10th). DD will be on her way back home by that point with GD15 (she flies in on Friday).
Will be nice I think to join a party for GD with dShelley's x inlaws. She'll be going to nursing school nearby this fall. So proud of her and I know her Mom would be.

Dh is dragging from his rehab this morning. Goes again tomorrow.

Was proud of dnephew Monday -when he got back to his office from vacation on Monday -he had a post it from the Gov. of FL with thanks for doing a great job. Sure he deserved it. He works in environmental conservation -water- for the state in Tallahassee. Sure db is more than proud.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Received a long phone call from DGS6. He is traveling to Fort Polk to attend family friend change of command ceremony in morning. He is much like his Dad in that he uses phone conversations to pass the time while traveling. He informed me he wanted to celebrate his birthday at our house (next month). YEAH!

Next up -
** wash hair
** Prepare/serve supper
** out the door to church

Another crazy cake to make next month, OKay?!

I've been missing everybody, but I've not had time to do much back here. DD came with the 3 DGkids Monday afternoon. That meant I had to do a lot of cleaning that's been neglected. Lots. At several times I was sure I couldn't do it all and I worried about the days they would be here, how I would handle all the hustle-bustle.

Sunday eve. DH went grocery shopping with me to help. That was enormously nice and helpful. He also swept and mopped the floors and blew off the dirt/sand/leaves from both porches. I worked on the bathrooms, kitchen (yikes!) bedrooms. One bedroom was very dusty and I was confused how so many dust bunnies were there. We soon found out.

Tuesday was the prayground (too hot & sunny) and the beach (also too hot & sunny) with a picnic lunch. Naps and dinner after. But while I was cooking dinner over the hot stove, noticed it was getting hotter and hotter in the house. Much later, we'd changed all the filters (5) which were very bad, shut the system off to unfreeze it and started it up again to cool us back down from 85 deg. :o It was okay for sleeping then tolerable this morning.

A/C guy recharged unit, 20% of our freon had leaked out. We're getting a new air handler which is now defective. It's under warranty but the labor to install is not. grrrrrr! In the middle of all this we did a repair on hot water tank. The little overflow tank on top was corroded and tilting, ready to fall off. It's no longer code so DH sweated it off and capped the plumbing.

DD went home this morning and I ran out the door to dentist. I've got my new crown in. I'm not used to it yet. Nancy, did you ever get yours?

This afternoon I got the month closed out except for one thing and 1 quarterly job I didn't do last month.

I'm going to go back and read what I've missed.
Oh, we have gopher turtles all over the place here! They don't like our yard much because it's not very sandy, DH has the grass pretty thick. They like weeds and sand better.

Home again for me - body work went well, practitioner said that one side of my pelvis is no longer higher than the other - at least this week. Hoping someday to get to the bottom of the soft tissue hip pain. I went by grocery and will do burgers on the grill in a bit, then picked up dMoses from his teeth cleaning. Some of his test results weren't great also, and they want to see him for follow up in two months. Talked to her a little about Macs and agreed that I'm not going to put him through a lot of testing/tweaking for his liver issues when his legs/back/hips are getting so weak. Moe is doing a quiet little whine tonight so I'm thinkin' he's not feelin' great.

I need to get the HBs going - Ds's friend Z started the grill already.

re: dds Nope waiting till summer is over or ? on mine ... Dson had the dds talk him into a fix instead of pulling the one he broke.

H. has to go in for a physical to get his meds. refilled next time.

After the other granny picked up dgd I took dgson home our #2 dgd was going to hang out with him I picked up my Rx and I was over town shopping. H. called I for got what I was after headed home and he headed to bed sigh we were going to go back to town as he broke his watch. He decided to wait nap and cool off with a bit of a rest. I'm okay with that as I was able to prune the rose & grape hedge a bit.

Got 9 eggs again today  H. brought home a thing we can wrap in netting or chicken wire to keep chickens in or out of an area. I'm enjoying an afternoon off.

Oh I just remembered what I was looking at when he called some replacements for the dishes I tossed this week that were not microwave safe. I'm hoping to get some that are at the thrift shop in the salad plate size.

My wonder from Wednesday
yoga class - I attempted more than I thought I could. One armed downward dog??? It was good to be back there.
I'm waiting and wondering about ultrasound tests, and gpdoc's assessment of potential for ruptured tendon. Wondering what that would mean. I can't do anything yet but anticipate cancelling physio appointment for monday since they are so unaccepting of other problems ... :? :x
Agreeing with all the statements of resuming activity and exercises after a forced lay off. Hard work. I'm thinking ever 2nd day is enough atm for yoga (mon &wed) and pool (fri) I am now trying to get my left arm into everyday activities as I can, and stretching it to do things like light switches even if it brings me to tippytoes. Penguliming ?sp" it as I write this to my elbow complaints. I need more info on the tendonitis as to what to do. I was told heat and vo ltaren - I still need to purchase that. My sitting is wrong and I am putting the wrong tension into my arm regularly. I know that does not help.
I am sore today after yesterday's exertions.
I was in bed early, then awake again at 3. It took hours to get back to sleep. Reading lying down is not good for me but I do it.
I have spent night 2 in my own bed. Unfortunately the stuff I took off it is still heaped on chair and dresser, and lighter blankets would be easier.
Glad to be rid of the sling. That did not help my back. yes my arm complains. pockets can help.
I rang my dm yesterday.

Washing done late yesterday is hung (I just hung cotton blouses indoor last night.)
Breakfast is eaten.
I have less than an hour before pick up for support group and lunch.
I want to check washing status - put away what I can.
get dressed
remember "sample" for pathology.

later = bills to pay, groceries to buy.
Just begin.

OKay - the cheetah cake looks like a challenge. A sleepy cheetah resting its head on its paws could be a custom offering.

Cowinkle - sounds like you lived on a turtle migration path.

Loved all the turtle stories.

hugs and prayers to you all
healing for you and loved ones.
blessings to our families.
Just begin.
