FANTABULOUS FRIDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

Waiting for dd and gd15 to stop by on their way out. But it's been steadily raining (& thunder) for some time. She said she didn't want to finish loading the car in the rain so is waiting for it to stop or slow down. Dh and a friend will move her MH later and dump it, etc. in a few days when it's convenient for dfriend. She noted a while ago that she probably would have been packed & ready except "for a certain teenager."

Family and some friends were here last night to say good-bye to dd. It was raining off & on so we decided to do get-together here where there was at least some cover.

The PGA is in town and of course it's raining. The LPGA is here every June and I don't remember once that rain/storms weren't a big issue. Supposed to get nicer as the day wears on.

DS-R & DGS8 left for PA about 2am. Hoping they didn't run into much fog. Sure was that here.

Looking forward to things quieting down a bit. Dh shouldn't have quite so many appointments every week. However, we will have dgs8 for the next 3 weeks. But part of that time he'll staying overnight with DS-A's family and I almost imagine his other Grandma may take him for a day or so. Both DS's and families go back to PA for WKA carting in 2 weeks. So there'll be a couple of days there that we don't have him. He's usually pretty easy maintenance. Good thing since we have several appointments during that time.

Good morning, Dee, and all those in the village. I need to get moving this morning - I read until late in the night and need to be out of the house in a little more than an hour. Need to s2s and walk ddogs and breakfast....et al.

And I forgot that dcleaning lady is coming this a.m., I still can't get used to the change to Friday.

Good Morning!

I had my quiet time in the garden (favorite place to do it) and enjoyed watching the sun come up.

I've adjusted today's PODA once again trying to fit the pieces together - people/places/events

Thinking of LucyLee as she cares for her DMom before/after surgery today.

This time next week I will be out the door to take LO to school. Where did the summer go?

Have an appointment card right by me that clearly says dh has an appointment with his opthalmologist at 10:10 on 8/9/13 (Friday). I THINK that's today. However office called yesterday to remind dh of his appointment at 2:40 on Monday. So I called again this morning to reaffirm. Nope -not today, but Monday afternoon. Never mind that we've changed things around to make sure this morning was clear. Was told this morning "something must have changed" -uh did they ever notify us? Not that we know of.

DD just texted that she's trying to get some cleaning done in her MH while they wait out the rain. She (quote) said, "Trying to clean around 'her' is like trying to clean a landfill". I know gd would be absolutely no help. Plus she's also cleaning around her 'tail', an 85-pound black lab.

True, lucylee must be having an extremely busy time right now. Hoping that all the medical things for her dmother work out well and that the traveling is uneventful and calm.

Lynlee, good job getting repair folks to check everything.

We are "calling the man" today before the dishwasher is out of warranty.

Dee, that dr's office should have treated him better than that. They can't just call to remind of something to which you have never agreed. There has to be a call to agree to it in the first place, at least, if not a call of apology and a request that you choose between available times.

I have a 3 x 5 that I need to turn into a 5 x 5.

My computer is acting up - thought it was a bad mouse.
But last evening everything locked up and HRH could do nothing except restart.
Hmmm.

Yes, at least a phone call to advise us of the change would have been nice, Harriet. It's been a whole year since his last appointment. Imagine the consequences if it was the other way around.................

DD and gd have left -about 35 minutes ago. It was still raining pretty good when they left but according to the radar they should run out of it soon -traveling west. Going down through Pittsburgh & Charlotte this time -so they can stop outside of Pittsburgh to watch dgs8 race go-karts for a little while. Then they plan to travel to Summersville, WV the first night -hoping to make Jacksonville, FL by Saturday night. Their plan is to meet up with dsonil at Flagler Beach on Sunday for a few hours. He'll then take dlab -Bailey, home and dd will take gd directly to the ranch.

Don't know what our plan for today is. It is extremely quiet!! Everyone is gone. Tomorrow we have a graduation party for dgd18 with her father's family. First we've been invied to anything on that side since dShelley passed away. So we definitely didn't want to miss it. It's only in our hometown away so only 15 minutes tops. We'll probably only stay a couple of hours or so -until dh starts to get tired.

Slow morning, which is nice after all the meetings and socializing I did yesterday. However, there are things I need to do for the shower tomorrow and to start prepping for time with the pastor and his family here on Sunday - and dd15 has an oboe lesson this afternoon. I skipped WW this morning; I snacked a lot last night. It may not have made a difference, but I also wanted a morning at home. . .

Yesterday, dpastor's wife, whose home we met in for the teaching team meeting, said they weren't available for lunch Sunday, which is what I thought we'd agreed to weeks ago. They will be in the area for a child's tennis lesson from 1-2 and she asked about coming over after that since it is about a 30 minute drive for them one way. I said we could visit after the lesson and then eat an early dinner. Then, I talked to dh on the phone about it, and he's not thrilled with the proposition. He doesn't want to eat dinner too early and he doesn't want to have guests in our house all afternoon, not even the pastor, whom he likes, and his family. . . He proposed having them come over for afternoon tea instead of a meal. So, I need to get this sorted out.

Dd17 has asked if a friend can come over to bake a cake with her this afternoon. I feel like a schmuck for being irritated and saying no, but she has had a friend over for 5-6 hours both yesterday and Wednesday. It doesn't really impact me directly, but it does make a difference to me, knowing someone else is in the house.

Alright, enough jawing. I'm off to get some things done.

Adjust. Adjust. Adjust. When one change is made it affects other events. Like knocking over a line of dominos DSis just called with a plea "Plllleeeaaaassseee take DMom to the funeral today. I need to do something" DMom support trumps everything I had on the schedule today so DH and I had flurry of conversations discussing how other events will be moved.

DFriend called very happy. A couple weeks ago I had witched a well for him. The well driller arrived yesterday but strongly discouraged DFriend from using the site I selected for drilling the water well. Driller said there was not water there. He told DFriend he needed to drill 1/4 miles away at a spot the water table map was showing to be good. DFriend told water well driller - I'm paying for this so you will drill where I want. If it doesn't work out - then we will move to the spot you have selected and drill another well. Long story short.....hours later the well was dug at my spot and it has more water than what the water driller equipment could measure. He tried to calculate gallons per minute but it was more than his equipment could handle. :D :D

Lots of driving and family doings ahead. Also, I promised DGS16 that we WILL fit in a stop at a mall to do some school shoe shopping sometime somewhere today.

OKay, just think how much $ the dowsing probably saves, not to try quarter-mile-away places, or pipe for distances. I'm so sorry to hear you are pulled in many directions today, but grateful on your behalf that you have so many to love.

Noticing Harmony here - hope the energy has stayed with you.

OKay, do you have any idea yourself why the water witching works? I've always been curious.

I have made up my mind it doesn't matter how much sleep I get at night, I'll always feel this tiredness. Yesterday after a hard day I went to sleep about 9:00 and about 5 hours later woke up. Went back to sleep a couple hours later and slept half the morning away. Still felt the same. Very discouraging. In exactly 1 week I go back for testing. Dr. thought it should register the new medicine I'm taking by then...

Yesterday I went to visit a sick woman in hospital...church had requested a visit and our usual visitation person is out in another country with her DH's ministry... so I went and this woman was the nicest lady I'm so glad I went. But the hospital is awful, having been added onto multiple times. Separate parking lots that you can't get from one to another because of building ells in the way. Apparently I came out the wrong door and had to walk around the whole thing...and I wore the wrong shoes and now have 4 blisters all broken open... you'd think they could letter the lots and the doors to correspond.

This morning I took care of a big problem at county office over the phone. Their mistakes, not ours, but we've got another office on our case about something that's their problem. Sometimes they neglect to close out our paperwork as they have to do it manually... which begs the all-too-frequent-question: why don't people do their jobs?!

I have a drs. apt to cancel also. Someone I used last year who never called back with test results, etc., and I'm having women's issues handled by GP I'm now going to...very unhappy with the first dr. (Dee) you've had lots to handle lately.

Getting back to some sort of work around here now...
