I'm late getting here today. I hit the ground running this morning and have been going-N-doing almost non-stop.
Although I gave it a good effort, I couldn't GMAT enough to get out the door in time to watch DGS7 take his belt test. I'm promising myself next test I will definitely be there!
TA-DA's
** DMom has been here this morning.
** I went to DMom's house. Before I left, I gathered a stack of garden papers and books and returned them to her.
** LO has a new haircut. That was the last get-ready-for-school task left to do.
** Cooked brats & steak on the grill, pasta & tomatoes, green beans for lunch
** Made biscuits for breakfast
** LOL to put away status
** House completely cleaned to MM standard.
** vacuumed and mopped all floors
** Typed up 3 months of elder meeting minutes (still have one more to do)
** Ordered movie tickets online to ensure we can get seats. LO is finally able to sit still for over an hour, so we are taking him to movie theatre for the first time. I think he will enjoy watching Planes.

yummmmm,......biscuits! Too bad you live too far away, OKay!
Visited for a few minutes with ds, cut up veggies for my lunch and gave him 2 servings to eat in the car on his way in to work.
Brought in the laundry, removed and replace nail polish, rested/napped for an hour while my nails dried.
Biked with dh to get corn for dinner. Luckily the first stand still had some so it was a short ride.
Dinner is cooking now.

I got caught in the nap-monster (also called a feather duvet) and couldn't escape for almost 3 hours.

Re: Serenity Saturday
Back from a 4 hour trip. Did laundry, ate lunch and bought groceries at a town about 30 miles away. Nice town - when we couldn't find the Laundromat, the person we asked said, "Follow me!" and drove us right to it.
Had a great calzone for lunch so there will be no supper here tonight. Did double duty as then I was not hungry in grocery store.
Have put all the groceries and laundry away so now it is time to check my eyelids for leaks.

Having a serene day. Napped from 3:30-5:30. That was after a 7am wakeup and full day of grocery store, recycling drop, and goodwill dropoff--and post office, almost forgot that. Dh and I are now watching a movie, "The Dark Knight Rises". We're both recovering from last weekend, which was too busy.
Had a nice time playing cards last night with 3 other couples. Maybe it was beginner's luck, but I did very well!

Re: Serenity Saturday
Quiet day here and dh and I have "agreed to disagree" so I think things will less stressful. I had a delicious nap and dh and I went out for an early dinner together. Dd was picked u by friends who drive and is still out. In theory I agreed to drive hwe to ick up a friend but as it gets later I'm hoping I don't have to go back out.
News that a younger second cousin passed away today. I don't know him well but was close to his sister, who is my age, when we were growing up.
Tomorrow we are having a very dear single friend over for dinner. He and his gf just broke up after two years together, she is a very dfriend also. He just can't commit, even in his early sixties. We've known her probably 25 years and him 28 years and were so hopeful this was good for both of them.

Re: Serenity Saturday
DH got home about 12:30 p.m. after he'd taken grsons home and stopped at the grocery store for a few things. My Barely There bras came in the mail, like them because the bra strap doesn't hurt my shoulders. I had rotator cuff surgery in Nov. 2010.
I washed a large load of ours and the guest towels, DH put them away. I napped on and off in my recliner, filled, ran and emptied the DW, took out recycle, wrote on an add-on letter to a MN pen pal, cut out coupons for her, and took out recycle.
On I-90 heading to the mountain range and in Northern Oregon, there are T-storms heading this direction, so I thought I'd get on-line really quick and post while I had the chance in case of a power outage. I don't know how important it is to keep the laptop off during a T-storm. Does anybody have more info on this?
I've heard both things, it cannot hurt, don't worry and don't EVER leave a computer on during a T-storm. So I just don't know what's the right answer.
We'll probably eat tacos for dinner, with corn-on-the-cob and I'll eat a little green salad with it.
Have a terrific Serenity Saturday Night, Everybody!

Re: Serenity Saturday
Phew what a day this morning I started the day off with getting ready to get going with clean up after the storm that blew through here last night like Ivy mentioned at dusk, & mowed the back yd. next door, it was culling day as well, so four hens are no longer with us. It's been more peaceful after that here.
We went to dson's yd. sale and then to town hit the farmers mkt. and then had lunch did a W mrt. run came home and then after putting away the perishables I caught another yd. sale.
H. is at the demo derby with #2 dgd. It was too hot and smokey for me.
Having some serenity now and finished my journaling & qt this afternoon.
I'm working on getting the rest of the food put away and working on the kitchen a bit more.

Re: Serenity Saturday
Dd1 and I walked this morning. Then I watched the 4 kids so dd2 could open the shop. Came home and mowed. Even though it was almost noon when I started, it was still in the mid 70's in August. Hard to believe. After lunch I went out and vacuumed out the storage building. The newspapers were wet from rain the other evening, so I laid them out to dry out. I will continue to use newspapers by the overhead door until we replace it and put in a threshold. Dh was working on taking down the fence. I trimmed a boxwood bush and did other yard things. Came in and showered. I fixed bacon for BLT's, which I love but I started feeling sick to my stomach, so I had toast and applesauce. I unloaded the dishwasher and reloaded it with a few things and handwashed what needed done. I'm sipping a Sprite and feeling better, just tired.
Tomorrow dd1 will be 42. How did that happen and where was I when it happened?
Monday night dd1 is having dd2, her family, us and her dmil over for brownies and ice cream, so everyone can see dgs19 before he leaves for college on Wednesday. Dgs19 and maybe dgd16 are coming over here Monday afternoon to play games. Dgs19 loves to play games. I am thinking about taking them out for breakfast on Tuesday. If I do that, then I will take dgd17 and the 2 boys out later in the week.
Dgd3 starts dance lessons again on the 13th. I will be taking her every week. I will pick her up around noon, at daycare. We will spend the rest of the afternoon together and at dance lessons. Yesterday I bought a booster seat and a fleece blanket to put under it and behind it, so that my leather seats don't get gouged.

Re: Serenity Saturday
It seems the lady at the hair place got a little scissor-happy. Dd14 told me afterward that to her it looked shorter than I had wanted - a lot ore than 3 inches. But I had thought it looked okay in the shop's mirror. We went on to the grocery, plus a busy day from then on. This evening I visited my colorist and did think to myself it was about as short as I've had it in a long while, barely brushing my shoulders. Big surprise, though, when it would hardly go up into a scrunchie to set. That's my go-to hairstyle and in fact I've hardly done anything else since dd33 showed me years ago what a time-saver it is. For the first time, it took me two tries to get it up. Hmmm... ... Doesn't sound like much of a problem until you remember I need to sleep on this and need to look somewhat normal for church tomorrow.
HRH? He said he thought I'd had it in the scrunchie ever since I got home from grocery. Sigh. Dd14 really gave him a teasing over that.
