To Helia and any other with UTI. Over the counter A-zo really helps me. It calms the burning and then I can drink more to help overcome the infection without meds.

I also try to keep an acid balance in my bladder which isn't easy when I have to keep alkaline for my reflux.

Also if you are having multiple UTI's - check your blood sugar. High sugar also causes them Have many less now that my diabetes is under control.

That's all from the EmptyDR.

helia, it's a kidney stone but with good prognosis, and CT scan shows only one. He had started taking D-Mannose when he realized something seemed wrong, before actual pain, and he had no UTI with this, thank goodness. We are also a household pushing fluids now, as you can imagine.

I missed curriculum night this time, helia, which I may regret. There is a new online site in place and I can't access this one. Last year either dd or I were able to sit at the computer and double-check assignments, even look at grades. The new site lets me in with my username and password, and welcomes us by name. But when I try to access anything further, it requires my username and password again, and denies that these are the right ones!

I had another "green drink". Better tasting than the last one, so I'm learning. At least this one actually was green when I poured it. (last one was that brown color you get from mixing all the paint colors in a paint box!) But this one's still a far cry from "tasty". Maybe I should actually use an exact recipe rather than tossing in everything I have on hand! Naaa. I'll figure it out. Gotta have a little creativity.

Speaking of which, I'd grabbed a small gift bag for a tote when I realized I had just minutes before HRH wanted to leave for hospital. My book was heavy, and I ended up tossing in his wallet and other things later, and somehow by the time we got home it had ripped. No great loss, but it bugged me. So I made 7 folded gift tags out of the nice parts today in a jiffy, and tossed the rest. Kinda proud of myself - the pattern is pretty and varied, the paper's substantial, white inside, so these look great. I'm a sucker for pretty gift tags, though.

Back home again. Dh has gone to town to get some parts for the guys putting in an irrigation system for our berm. Uh, guys! It's raining out.

Dh had me record his weight gain over the last week or so. When we got to rehab they told us they already had figured on calling the cardiologist's office. They also sent a computer report over and gave dh a sealed report of weight, heart rate and blood pressures so Dr can view what's happening. He dropped those off (only across the street from rehab) and then we went to his primary care Dr. That was a scheduled follow up from his heart surgery. Finally got to see his regular dr there. He explained a bit more about what's happening with the fluid. Don't think it allayed dh's thoughts about what's happening. Did explain why he loses his appetite. That is because the fluid is going into the liver and then the extremeties. Dh doesn't have ankles again. :?

DD called with a request for a letter -one which I will have to think about.

Sounds somewhat familiar, Harriet. Though I know there's something on my newer laptop blocking this site (only). Everything else seems to be ok.

Need to do dishes but wanted to wait until after lunch. Unfortunately I'm not hungry now. Tummy was growling earlier and we stopped at T Horton's for a muffin & beverage. Have potluck tonight.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Helia, HRH has/had a kidney stone and the Harriet family spent time at ER on Saturday, I think.

Done with that round again. I discarded and/or recut the flowers that I had on kitchen table in a smaller container as many were past their prime, and wiped out the refrigerator as I went. Also rebooted the laundry.

I'm trying to budget my time for the rest of the day...
-dd's room s/b next priority
-need to s2s
-I need a quick trip to Tar jay to exchange ink cartridge and I need a grocery stop this afternoon.
-I need to at JCC at 4 p.m. to pick up our educator (that answers your question, Helia!)
-That leaves about four hours, plus or minus.

To do before Mondayafternoon:
-clean out car, wash it
-front porch, back patio clean up - done mostly, could use a little more spiffing
-routines around the house - in progress
-dd's room cleaned up and welcoming
-purge refrigerator - done
-groceries
-catch up on our laundry - in progress
-what else?

This round:
-work on dd's room, remake bed, hang up clothes, take out trash, take out donation items
-go out and do quick car clean up of water bottles and trash
-clear, straighten up breakfast bar

Forgot to post this earlier...

Posting to let you know I'm fine.

I'm not very talkative right now. Nothing is wrong, just going through a quiet phase.

I've been reading posts and thankful for this board.

Thanks for the info, MT!! I think mine is very mild, so I'll try to drink a ton today and take many cranberry capsules. I might see if Walgreens has the Azo. That is interesting re: blood sugar levels and UTIs.

((HRH))

Yeah, I'm not sure it is critical that we go to curriculum night, esp. since most of the girls' teachers a sibling has had before. It is nice to meet the teachers we don't know, and there are a couple classes we might like to know more info. GG's classes are mostly new to us since she is not doing the higher tracks. Everything is already a higher track for her due to being in English!! So, we will check out some of those. Yeah, we have an online program where we can see grades and attendance - but that is all.

Bravo on the gift tags, Harriet!!

Not much to report.
x tori has been picked up; when Tori's mom showed up, Maia went berserk with the excitement of it all She was like a bouncing 50 lb. ball on steroids or something. Oh my goodness!! She ran and took a flying leap at the door where Tori was yapping outside and smashed the door open (this is the door that doesn't properly latch) onto poor Tori while she went flying out to tumble onto the brick breezeway. If I could somehow siphon off that energy. . .
x 1 lol folded and mostly put away; 2nd lol washed
x lunch

Next:
- finish a.m. routine (make bed, unload dw, teeth care)
- switch laundry
- finish groc. list
- groc. store

Hmmm.... this sat here for a while. I forgot to push "submit."

Dmom is seeing her regular doctor today. Cancelled appt w/foot doctor.
Rescheduled for next Tues. One of the days I had told her I could not do.
I called back and rescheduled for next Mon.
THEN dh started telling me that was not good day either... but he decided he could adjust his/our stuff and Mon. would be okay.

We bought groceries last night, in anticipation of today being hard, so now I've got a pretty much clear schedule for the day.

* whew *

UNLESS doctor puts dmom in hospital or something else comes up w/her!
* sigh *
Y'all keep us in your prayers.
Tomorrow is another day.

By the time I posted this I had already done dd's room and the breakfast bar, but there's a ton of stuff now in the GR floor that I brought down, so need to deal with that. Dh came home for lunch, and I pressed him into action to take a small rocking chair from the garage up to her room, which will be convenient as a place to sit down. I need to find some lunch also.

Continuing.....
-clear up stuff that came down and things that have landed on kitchen counters since I started working....
-clean out car
-reboot laundry again
-empty dishwasher, which I ran this morning

I'm figuring that at 2 p.m. I'll s2s and then run to Target, the groc store, and have the car washed at the carwash by Target.
