Good morning all! I have not had a fun weekend. My roof is leaking again and I had a tree fall from the heavy rain. I have a call in to the insurance people about both. Not sure if trees are covered, but it can't hurt to ask. Otherwise, I will just have to fill the trash container with pieces of it every week for, I don't know, maybe the rest of the year! There was a special adoption event so I had to get the foster cats there both Saturday and Sunday. Good news: the new meds may be working, Levity did not have an unpleasant accident in my car Sunday! Bad news: I may have given myself a recurrence of tennis elbow picking up a heavy cat crate full of Lara. My plan for an amusement park on Sunday with DD11 fell through big time. Her foot was so red, swollen, shiny, and painful Saturday that I was worried she had broken another bone. It was better Sunday, but not good for lots of walking. XDH had to cancel her physical therapy for today until it is better.

What I have gotten done today: called insurance company, checked Renaissance Fair schedule for this weekend, and called the art teacher to tell her that I will be out ANOTHER Thursday. I am working on a talk to give to the Girl Scouts on Thursday about animal rescue.

Other things I need to do today: call insurance company again, cancel maids and figure out a schedule for my new maid (otherwise known as myself) to clean and declutter. Funny thing: On Saturday, DD wanted to entertain herself by cleaning my house. She cleaned out a cat crate, hosed off some cat towels, and mopped the entire house (hardwood floors).

The animal org wants to have a meeting about cats this week, not sure how on earth to fit it into my schedule.

I still cannot post or see these boards from home. There are times I really miss being able to do that.

Dee when I deny cookies at a sight and then try to sign in with user name and password, it gets into that endless circle you describe in your quote. I run two browsers, Chrome and Firefox. I deny cookies except for favourite sites (like here and the bank) on Firefox so quite often have to switch and sign into things in Chrome.

Is it possible that Windows 8 has some sort of a cookies option that is cross-browser and that if you can find and reset that setting you'll be able to get in here?

Back from choir. Started the clothing cull before I went and will get back to it. Haven't decided if I should just empty everything from my closet at once and put it back. I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. On the other hand, that is the recommended way for handling a major rethink of one's wardrobe and bedroom storage space.

The only solidly free day I have this week is Wednesday so maybe I can put it off until then.

Back from car pool, got an e mail about an e-book ready to check out from the library  you don't have to go to the library for e books LOL! Now I need to see if I can figure out how to check it out. They have changed things at the library and it's more self serve the gal at the desk was not very helpful it was like she had other duties more important like shelving books than helping patrons she must have been having a Monday sigh oh well. Letting go of that. She did not how to do e-books either!

Tree removal saws are quiet now.

Will study that later on, Kathryn. I know just enough to get me in trouble. Obviously.

Dr. called dh a while ago and wants him back on the enhanced fluid pill for 3 days. Called him back to ask about potassium. But the Dr says not to take it as they'll see him in the office on Monday. Vicious circle this -just reminded myself to give him some Colace each to go with it as that became a big problem last time. I'll give it to him with his pills in the morning I guess. Note to Harriet -primary Dr told him to stop taking the D3 -that there was no need for him to take it. So....... but I will continue as it's needed for my osteopenia & diabetes.

Finally got dh's Gaither TV set up today so he's happy about that. DD put on a ROKU on our bedroom TV, but we've discovered that dh would really rather have it in the living room. So to figure out how to change it. I'd ask dd but she has enough on her mind right now.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Hi, everyone! Just wanted to say that a relative was able to pass his kidney stone on the way to ER when his wife drove very fast over some railroad tracks. He claims this gave him such a jolt that the stone passed and he was immediately out of pain! This was years ago and has become legend in our family. :)

Wow, that really is a great story, ellyphant! What a blessing.

Dee, perhaps dr is concerned that while Mr. DeeClutter is at risk of retaining/gaining fluids rapidly he's not excreting as would be expected. Or maybe dr sees a high level on a recent blood test. I once had an error in a blood test that gave my level as 98 or 99, which made my dr ask me to cut my D dosage in half for a while until we got another test, since testing laboratories chart up to 100 ng/ml "sufficient". It would be interesting if the heart doctor(s) agree or not.

Nancy, we've gotten 2 emails from the library, too. 2 out of 3 books dd needs for English are ready for pickup at the regional branch. I hesitate to rush out there and then have the 3rd one turn up ready the next day or something, causing another trip. Hmmm... ... I think I'll give it another day or so. And if any of them are not renewable later (because every English teacher is probably assigning the same ones) and she still needs them, that e-book idea from the library is a good thought. She could take the Kindle along to school and have one of the library e-book on it.

Btw, she must read Night, The Book Thief and The Other Wes Moore.

Elizabeth, your post was full of ups and downs for me!!!
So sorry about the tree! Yikes!
So happy for our Levity, who surely deserves a levity-filled life.
So sorry ((dd11))'s foot is sore and red still.
So happy dd is learning to enjoy taking care of the house, though.
So sorry your arm hurts again.
Do you dress up for Ren Fair? My dd33 says, "Are you crazy!?!" to me for suggesting it! But then she chases 3 little boys and needs jeans and sensible shoes!

Posting from my p/c or trying to any way.
{{{Hugs}}} to those who need it.

I called the library where I set up my e-reader that gal did not know how to return books but did some research figured it out and helped me to do that. It's a smaller lib. and she had the time. Sorting out some books that I doubt we will need and the lib. has a book sale next mo. so I can put them in the car trunk and take them on the next car pool trip. Sorting out kids book time for a rotation anyway. So this is giving me a bit more breathing space in the book case and living room where the new to us ones were beginning to pile up.

One sink is clean.

The clothes 'called' me so I went back to work on that. Pulled out all my socks. Threw out the worn out ones, set aside those I knew I didn't want any more and set aside my hiking socks. That left me with

65

pairs of socks (not including the ones on my feet or in the wash!)

Even I'm shocked. I've narrowed it down some. Ds suggested limiting to 7 for Christmas, 7 winter theme, and I did that but then there were all the rest and many were bought while traveling. I did cram them all into one drawer so that freed up another drawer for 'real' clothes. I didn't bother to recount but will have closer to 50 pairs now. Just not sure which side of 50 it will be.

I'm going to use the number 7 for undershirts. It is a good way to limit myself.

I still have a lot of things to try on to see if I'm keeping them or not. In the meantime, I've got rid of two green garbage bags of clothes, 1 for giveaway, 1 for garbage. And with the rearranging of things (taking the bed linens and towels away) I can fit all my non-hanging clothes in my drawers. I may still need to swap out my hanging cloths summer/winter but far fewer things are being swapped.

Part of the issue is to get things out of the closet that aren't clothing related (like weekend suitcases, of which my closet floor has three.)

Next challenge will be finding a new home for the linens I took out of the closet - the logical place is the sea chest at the foot of our bed since it is full of old linens.
