TREMENDOUS TUESDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

Tuesday morning -cold here. But we're supposed to reach low to mid 60's later today.

Dh has gone out to winterize a camper. Not my 'want' for him. Worry about him catching cold. There are people helping him -especially lifting.

Been up since 7 and have just slowly gotten dressed and ready for the day.

Want to get out and walk when it warms up a little. Was 39 a short time ago with the sun shining brightly.

Have a dreaded letter to write this morning. It's been on my mind all night and I guess the best way to get it off is to "start= 1/2 done -so BEGIN".
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Good morning Dee! Good for you for not procrastinating on that dreaded letter.

I've been up for nearly 2 hours but don't have much to show for it. I made some toast and chatted with the girls before they left. I've had my bfast - am working on mug of tea #2. And, I've taken care of some emails - some moms group emails organizing the meeting Thursday to create the small groups, an email from band director, an email from dfriend wanting to borrow ds' old coat for her ds. She can have it! But it is a larger size than she was expecting. I've also chatted twice with workers here to work on some brickwork. They're repairing something on the northern side of our house, and they've given us a pricey quote to redo the 2 brick walkway area on either side of our driveway. *sigh* The work needs to be done, they're willing to do it (I tried 2 companies last year and got zero response, even after one company came to give me an estimate. I never even got the estimate.) Dh and I will probably discuss later.

Now, there is pounding coming from the north side of our house. Now, there is the sound of some other machinery. . .

I'm going to go and try to get the a.m. routine done before 10. It is SO nice to not have to rush out the door somewhere first thing this a.m. :)

Kathryn, I'm enjoying hearing about your wardrobe decluttering. I'm thinking maybe I should do the same. . . .

Been reading through 'members only' posts trying to get my thoughts together. ;)

Now I have a headache. Really need to get in and have my eyes checked. Every time I think of making an appointments new things crop up with dh. Getting him healthy right now is my number one priority.

Ok absolutely have to set my mind to this task -just got a text from dd asking me to let her know as soon as I send this letter. Will come back when I finally have it done! Pray for me...........

Good luck with the letter. I have 4 easy ones to write today so when I'm done breakfast I'll start in on that and post my progress to help nudge you along.

I'm up. Not s2s. Bed is made, dish drainer emptied, tea & chocolate consumed. Responded to last night's emails. Watched a time-lapsed video of the Costa Concordia being righted.

Anxious to finish my wardrobe task this morning. As I was lying in bed I was thinking about where I had put things and couldn't recall what was in one of the drawers under my bed. Then I realized, that's because it is empty! I still have summer things to put away so it will get filled just not yet.

On facebook my sister and the church musician are trying to convince me to save some of the tossed socks for dusting, dog toys or other craft items. Like I need more projects. On the other hand, two pairs of the donated socks are the kinds with individual toes, so I might convert those to fingerless gloves if I can figure out how to stop the toes from unraveling when I snip off the ends. They are really cute and I hate to part with them but they are uncomfortable on me.

hugs

there are only so many dusting socks one needs Kathryn, even if you throw them out without washing them, so just please yourself. I think donating the toed socks would be the way to go.

another ph call.
watched toddler and kids and dog use my yard as a through way so attempted to untwist the old wire fence and retie it to new post - new fence is up but I am yet to agree to any quote on it. grrr hastle.
Storm last night created mud there which messed my best sneakers.
Walked 2 small blocks, Mud is still on bottom so left them outside for another day.

My head is a mess again.

Just begin.

Oh Dee, I'm so sorry you have to do this, but best just to grit your teeth and get it done. Very difficult, I do understand.

Busy day yesterday. When I left here around 2:30 to run a couple of errands everything took longer, and I ended up going directly to JCC to pick up house guest. We got back here, she s2s-ed (had been traveling 22 hours from Israel!) and we went out for a leisurely dinner at a restaurant on the river. Later we walked the ddogs, and she showed me a powerpower point she had made with photos of her family, where she lives, her school and kids, and Israel. We read until around 9 p.m. when she headed to bed, and me soon after.

This morning I was up at 7, as was she. I delivered her back to JCC just before 9 a.m. for the day. DH will pick her up this evening after the dinner event. Most of the days/evenings are scheduled but we will have Thurs dinner here and have invited some friends. I need to figure out a "kosher-style" menu that doesn't mix meat and dairy. I could cook fish, which is generally parve and serve dairy with it, or cook chicken which is meat and banish the dairy from the meal!

Today I need to get to dmom's for a visit and meds ck, get dMacs to PT and I have a short 5:30 meeting at temple. Oy, I better get rolling.

((Lynlee)) So sorry about the sneakers, not to mention the fence and passers-through. Frustrating. Was physio particularly tough this time or is it always deserving a  ? I hope you are feeling a little more range of motion as you go along.

Best wishes, Dee.

Twins' Mom, that sounds like a nice first evening with your houseguest. GREAT job on all the accomplishments up to her arrival.

Kathryn, the decluttering and organizing was stellar!

Morning fell into place well. Work is on track. 3 bags of donation out for Kidney Foundation pickup. Pretty leaves found and pressed in a book.
Dstepson is on his way, so I must scoot!

First 4 hours of my day resulted in a perfect score playing Time Slot Tetris. :D

Tree trimmers have been here this morning and trimmed a few branches (they are only trimming trees that affect electrical lines). They are going to return later today with a couple dump truck loads of shredded trees and dump them on our place. It helps them out to have a place to dump it and helps us out with free mulch delivered. I will use it for mulch outside of the garden.

Yesterday DH asked if we should hire an accountant. Asking that question is HUGE for DH. He never says anything about me not keeping everything done. He is always positive about my efforts and doesn't mention my many flaws. For him to ask if I needed to turn the books over to an accountant is very telling. I told DH that I needed to think about it. I am taking this serious that I need to make some changes to my priorities.

This morning I chatted with DH about switching my timeslot for house care tasks with the CFO duties timeslot. That way if anything doesn't get done, it will be house cleaning. I would rather hire a house cleaner than an accountant. DH thought that was a good idea and so I'm going to give it a trial run.

I just finished switching 3 hours of cards assigned to particular times to their new timeslots. Thankfully making this change to the 522 cards that are affected is a relative easy task since they are digital cards.

RE: Crickets. Turning lights off at MPB is not an option since we are open 24/7. Although we definitely have our share of the crickets, there are other businesses that are more affected than us. The grocery store is disgusting even though they are constantly working to get rid of the crickets. Walking = crunch. crunch. crunch. Even when the dead crickets are removed there are still black marks on the floor/concrete from where they have been squished before being removed. >>shudder<<< This morning I was waiting my turn at the bank drive through and noticed dead crickets caked on the sides of their air conditioning units. gross Gross GROSS. I can only imagine the decaying cricket smell is being carried throughout the bank through the a/c vents. YUCK!!!!!!!!

Dee, Hope you get that letter finished. They can be a bear to write sometimes.

Also, hope you get your eyes checked. It might help with the headaches.

I'm very happy I'm healthy and my lab work was so good, but am getting concerned now about the new mole, on my nose, which will be removed and biopsied in a couple weeks. I guess it's good we're getting it early, as it appeared about May or so.

It's a grey cloudy day here. DH will get errands run and shop for groceries. I might work on snail mail, crochet, read, and work some more on my 3 x 5's. There are some cards I need to write yet.

Also need to exercise.

Have a Happy Tremendous Tuesday, Everyone! :D
