Done with that handful of things and went outside and checked the controls for the sprinkler. I think I figured it out, will see if it runs all zones in the a.m.

I am going to work on this huge stack of papers for about 40 minutes now...

Happy Belated Birthday to Blessedw2!

In the what-else-can-happen-around-here department, our phone system went out today. Last night actually and I was up and down several times during the night as they would beep and then lose the dial tone...I reset the modem, the fax machine, all the phones...to no avail. Finally this morning DH gets up to check on things.

Several hours later we gave up on the sleuth work. Much furniture pulled out from walls, big box of left-over phone cords/parts dragged out, one phone jack rebuilt, taken apart again and put back with original; and still once in a while a phone will beep and we will lose signal. The line coming into the box outside is fine, DH checked it with an auxiliary phone.

So we don't know. Currently all is well, but we didn't really do anything to fix anything, so don't know what the problem is. DH even crawled into the attic to look at wires up there, etc.

I swept and mopped the floor and baseboards in back of all the furniture pulled out in a couple rooms. So that was good, as no focus work has been getting done around here. But I sure didn't need a night like last night with ups and downs multiple times.

I hope everything stays fixed. Our porch phone jack is all corroded inside, but we couldn't find a new one exactly the same...we even tested all the batteries in the cordless phones and all tested fully charged...

I'm thinking about Dee with the computer problems...
and OKay with the crickets, that reminded me of the Little house on the prairie books where the Ingals got completely ruined a couple years in a row by the grasshoppers...

Dee - my Kindle fire did that too a couple months ago. I looked online and saw several people solved it by holding power button down for 30 seconds - releasing- then pressing button again. It took several times trying the sequence but then it started working again and hasn't messed up since.

Grasshoppers .....Yup. Many has been over run by them this year. We have just had our normal amount of grasshoppers at our home & MPB. DMIL was hit hard by them - they stripped all the leaves off all of her plants - there was just stubs left. DMIL typically grows beautiful flowers all around her home so it was very emotional for her to have her well cared for plants attacked and ruined. One day I was in car at stop light and heard POW POW POW POW POW POW. It sounded just like hail hitting the car but It was a swarm of grasshoppers flying through.

LO is eating after school snack (left over pigs in blanket with a plate of grapes). Next up is homework and book reading.

I'm glad you had TWO happy birthday days, Blessed!

I napped short naps twice, then walked 2/3 mile, but there was no mail for us today and I chatted with an elderly male neighbor for awhile. It's sunny and nice.

I'm going to go sign off. I'm a Grobanite, which is a fan of Josh Groban. I biked 1/2 hour to his CD today, will be seeing him at 4 p.m. on "Ellen" and then again on "America's Got Talent" season finale, too! I've got almost all of his CD's, have his photos around, I have 2 of his concert CD's. He's too old to be my kid, too young to be a grandson, but he's truly a neat guy, polite, funny, and a gentleman who can sing like an angel. His music moves me so much. I can hardly wait until 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. :D

I'm exhausted and seriously thinking of bed despite it being 8 p.m.

Got two more items off my to-do list and am actively working on a third. Had dinner out. Picked up the book on hold for me at the library (plus an extra!) Tried to donate the clothes but the box was full. There's a box at the firehall so I'll try that tomorrow on my way to the church.

Am standing here, barely awake so *poof* I'm off to do something before bed.

I'm waiting for LO to finish in the bathroom.

DH called from church and asked me to go shut one of MPB bays down. He had received a call from customer telling about busted pipe but DH was about to preach so he couldn't leave to take care of it. LO and I shut off the water and electric to the bay and set out traffic cones blocking it off.

Then we went and visited DMom until time for LO to start his bath/bedtime routine.

I'm about to hit the hay, too. Darling girl fell into hers at 7:30. She really has too grueling a schedule. In the morning I'm going to take her to McD's for breakfast, as per request.

TaDas-
At print place, sent the fax.
At P.O., mailed two other assembled estate letters/copies sets.
At bank, got two papers notarized.
Another mailing is compiled and ready for mail tomorrow.
Virtually no sugar calories today, except for a few raspberries and tomatoes, carrot slices.

Sadie, glad you were able to post again! Sorry we missed your brilliant thoughts earlier!

Sunny, this a.m. I should have said that both Dee and Sunny were right about the birthday!

Kathryn, hope your knees calm down. So sorry to hear about the wreck and injuries.

Ivy, glad you have a favorite music star who is also a decent entertainer. Others seem to forget how to remain wholesome, and just go for shock value. I suppose that makes fame faster and easier.

I drove up to see my dad this morning. He wasn't home. (I really should have called first but he's usually sleeping on the couch so I didn't want to disturb him.)
I stopped at S taples and M ichaels on the way home. Wow, some of that planner stuff is too expensive. They were setting up the Christmas stuff in the craft store.
I came home and had a nap. 3 hours later I woke up! Wow. Hope I can get to sleep tonight.
I've done a total of 5 loads of laundry today. We have plans on Saturday to take Mike's ex wife out for lunch. She has been his assistant at the farmers market all summer and this is Mike's last weekend.

Mike and I are giving serious thought to asking her to come over one day a week to dust and maybe do some other cleaning. We all get along great and we are F B friends. She left him for another much younger man more than a year before we even started dating. (What she doesn't know is that Mike and I used to sit in one of our cabs and talk about our bad marriages before they split up. We had no idea we would end up together.)
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.
