CI Entertaining stresses me out, h. Does not enjoy it ither so we do not do much if any. Back from errands, if you see a number in my posts its a typo from the small typing space on this tablet.

Done my busy day. Might nap for a bit.

Work in the office went well. Was distracted by someone dropping by. In week 11, bleeding, and dropping in between doctor appt and emergency ultrasound. Didn't know quite what to say, listening seemed best so I did. Acknowledged that she has the full right to worry and pre-grieve. Reminded her of others who have been through the same and not lost babies so we need to wait and see. I did say that I'm supposed to say God's will will be done but it seemed like a ridiculous thing to say and for now we'll be hope filled but prepared.

From there was a quick lunch in the parking lot of the arena so I could see when the secretary of the housing board walked by. That would be my cue to head over to the affordable housing building for the board meeting.

Meeting went very well. My resignation next June was accepted. Yay! (I've been on this board for 20 years but feel I should resign because members are supposed to be local.)

Picked up salad and sweet potato for dinner.

Came home, biked to the general store with ds walking beside me. Picked up the mail, arranged for a post box for the Church (most mail for the church comes to me but when we move that won't work well.)

Just returned our broker's call so now I can take a nap. Although I will see what ds is up to for dinner.

I know I "should" lighten up but I just can't. I like my house looking good, even if I have to do a dash and stash. Although when dkids were little, we often hosted Z's family on short notice. And I have to remind myself that I do have a cleaning lady so it really can't be that bad, can it?

Hi everyone! I won two ribbons at the state fair! First place for the baby golden dragon and third place for the yellow jacket. I even managed to get back to church in time for the Bible study.

Yesterday's claims adjuster visit did not give the results I wanted. The roof leak is due to a badly installed roof patch that was put in before I bought the house. Not covered. The fallen tree, also not covered. I really need to get a properly installed patch, but don't have the money right now. The insurance lady did tell me how to prevent further damage: tar or silicone around the patch. It should have been interleaved with the existing shingles, but was simply nailed on top. Thus, water gets in under the patch. The people who lived here before me hired cheap, cash only, probably undocumented, uninsured, unlicensed workers. I have already bought the stuff I need for damage control. One thing she recommended: get up on your roof every year and retar and resilicone.

I have one item left on FlyLady's detailed bathroom cleaning list and a few items of the missions. The pantry got an extra clean out when I got the rice out to cook. Three of the cats know how to get into the pantry and several bags, including the rice, had holes. Cleanup ensued. I found DD11's talberd and shield for the Renaissance Fair, she will want a sword, but will have to buy that herself.

Today started badly, with the car refusing to start. The battery was down, but there were indications of alternator trouble. (I have a lot of that). It is being looked at. I had to cancel an appointment with the insurance people and arrange a ride to the talk I am supposed to give tonight. A friend has a car I can borrow, but I am hoping I won't need it.

Am I the only person on this board who needs MORE clothes?

If I were having these Israeli visitors over, Twins, I'd be way more concerned about the state of my house than I currently am!! I bet everything is lovely, and your menu sounds fantastic!! Let us know how it goes.

Again, I'm casual w/ friends who are like family, whom we know well - but I'm not casual with people I don't know too well. Actually, all these friends coming over tonight will come over again Saturday night for small group, so if my house is messy today, it will be cleaned up then! We do clean for small group, I think b/c it is just so many people. Also, dh will help with cooking when we have friends over.

Ooh, I like comfortable people, Kathryn, like your musician friends. It must be so nice to know you are selling your house to such delightful hospitable people!!

We never have to find the table; it is not a hot spot for us for whatever reason. Girls do study there and I sit at my laptop there too, as I am right now.

I took a little nap and am drinking tea - and getting ready to tidy up the kitchen so I can prep the salmon and asparagus. Mrs. physics is coming after all; her flight was cancelled - must be storms in Chicago?

Watching an email chain between the praise band leader and dh. Dh will be joining the band on Sunday (this is at the church I'm guest preaching in.) T'will be interesting. This is a church in crisis, partly over music.

Dinner is ready.

Someone is coming to see the fireplace tonight. Except now I find out ds will not be home. So we moved it to the garage so I don't have to let a stranger into the house while I'm home alone.

I think everyday is a lazy day for me. I don't know why I didn't even post yesterday. And then today, the day has just about got away from me. So far I have
* Walked 3 miles w/ds & dgs
* S2S
* Called dmom's former pastor to get his mailing address (for thank you note)
* Called new allergy doctor to make appt (mine retired)
* Got dmil's mail in town and took it to her
* Talked to dmom on phone
* Listened to a internet broadcast I'd been meaning to play for some time (Charles Stanley radio broadcast)
* S/S dh's shower floor

Guess that's it.

DH is playing golf. I should try to vacuum while he's gone but I'm kinda tired and I expect him back very soon... so... I think I'll just read.

Woo Hoo! First Place Blue Ribbon at the State Fair for Elizabeth and her creative, dragonificicent needlework talents! How homemakerific, how domestic, how fantastical and mythic. Jacket may have had a near-sighed judge, but still - two ribbons, that's wonderful. Get a frame! (See the sneak preview we got of the winner last week in A, C and N.)
