Re: Finishing Friday
Ohhhhhh. And I find myself on another Friday morning tearing around to straighten up before the dcleaning lady comes. And I need to head out in a minute to meet with rabbi - when I was running late on Wednesday evening I rescheduled him to Friday a.m.
My poor ddogs will have to wait until I come back for their walk this morning.

Re: Finishing Friday
Thanks for opening the thread, Twins'Mom.
As I was reading in bed last night about the activities in the village of Thrush Green (by Miss Read), and still trying to think up a solution to a thorny problem with the library group's event in early November, and committee members who don't have a clue about how much work is involved, this sentence made me snort and giggle:
= slightly hysterical laughter
Today's 6x6:
* Laundry
* 2 or 3 DPCs
* 2 reports for sewing group
* 3 or 4 Emails
* Find prices for supplies needed for library event
* Play with new sewing machine
I'm sure there will be more DPCs and Emails throughout the day, but these are all I know about to start out.
After supper I'll pack my tote bags for the sewing event tomorrow, and finish the library book.

Re: Finishing Friday
A quick post as I catch up. Back is still giving me fits. Seems worst when I get up. It will spasm as I just sit quietly.
Made an appointment for therapeutic massage today at 11. Hope that will help.
Carpenter came and fixed the temperature of shower so I can now use hotter water. He also will fix the bench where the water collects in the wall corner. We talked about replacing the floor (where to put furniture, type of flooring, time frame) and I am more relaxed about that.
Time to grab the ice pack to try to get the back to behave enough to get the dishes done. (or maybe talk DH into doing them.

Re: Finishing Friday
I vote for the 2nd option, MT.
Hope your back improves with the massage.
Slept for the 6th night in the recliner. Didn't cough quite as much during the night but enough. Still hanging on in not a 'nice' manner. Some people thought I'd already gone to FL and left dh here. Have driven him into rehab Mon, Wed, & today. Had a short dinner with my best friend, her dh last night (she was my old boss at the antique coop. She asked me when I stopped working there -found tax record on this old notebook computer from 2005 and had no income from there that year so know it was probably 2004, possibly '03. Where did that decade go? Surprised me that it was that long & her too.
Still hoping dh doesn't get this cold. Praying for him over the next week as he works outside in the cold & rainy weather.
Rehab gave him some sheets to fill out today. Also gave him more exercises -they will do a print out so he knows what to do when we get to FL.
I'm in a quandary over health insurance. We were given very bare info so I have no idea where to go for answers from here. Going to read material over (again). Thought I had it figured out but then read this morning that that option (online) is not for "medicare advantage". Right now I can't talk more than a few seconds before I start coughing -so not an option to call them today. (If I can figure out whom to call, that is!)
I had a coupon in the car for $.30 off per gallon of gas at S unoco. Had to get gas yesterday in town (.05 off on Thursday at least). So of course I found the coupon in here later in the day and it's only good through Saturday.
So will do all the running I can do today & tomorrow and go there to fill up again after our church Smorgasbord tomorrow evening. At least I'll get some. Figured out I will have driven about 2,500 miles less since I left FL in the spring than what I drove between leaving NY last November & then. Most of that was due to running gd15 to and from school. Figured that was at least 250 miles a week. Won't have that this winter. Yay!
Haven't been on in a couple of days so have to cuop. DD finally found the product key for Micro Office in her archived emails -once we figured out an approximate date. So now I'm good to go with that.
Have hardly started getting ready to leave next week. Still don't know whether we plan to go down 95 or 77. Will wait for a few days to decide. Looks right now like either way will be around 60's so that's good. My big dread is encountering that S word.

I am working on the kit. Baked cookies for the rest of the week and froze up some for next week too.

Re: Finishing Friday
I'm not terribly efficient today. Sigh...
Knees seem much better the last two days which is great. It also goes to show that the first 4 days of physio were working even if my knees were no more reliable or pain free than without the physio. It was hard to keep spending the time and effort when there was no result but day 5 I started to feel more positive. I'm still being very careful and I still get twinges but I'm much better than I was.
Bed is stripped and remade, sheets are washed and on the line. Dd's linens are airing as well (they've been in a vacuum-sealed bag for 2 weeks and she'll be using them soon so wanted them to be aired out.)
Ds wrote and that has distracted me. If he sends me good news, I get distracted. If he sends me concerning news, I get distracted and worry. If he sends no news I get really worried. The boy can't win if his goal is to make me feel better about his being gone! Reading between the lines, it sounds like he needs to talk so I sent money to top up his data plan so he can Skype me. When he was in Sydney there was internet available for free lots of places. Now that he's in the wilderness - that's not as true and he can't get a reliable high speed connection to upload photos. He's almost 2 weeks behind on that (although the first week the surf camp was uploading their pictures so I still got to see him and his friends.)
I don't even know where he is. He said today "when he gets back to Cairns" so he's obviously not there. I think skydiving is today or tomorrow.
Looking at the basement, I'm looking forward to getting dd's load out of there so I can have a better sense of where we are with disposing of things. I see such value in the piles of things I have down there but don't want to wait for a garage sale so guess I'll be giving it most of it away. Dd took a few Christmas mugs and some tupperware tumblers with lids but there's still another 4 without lids, plus some other tupperware.

Re: Finishing Friday
I hope to make it a finishing Friday on a story I'm writing by hand, which I keep putting off. Also, I'm on row 23 on dgrson-4.5 yrs. afghan and need to make it to row 42! I'll work on them today, once I get "going".
Got up late, am having coffee now, will s2s and start my day officially.
Glad your knees seem much better, Kathryn.
Nancy, you sound like you're being very productive today already.
Dee, I'm glad you didn't cough quite as much in the recliner. Get Well Soon!
MT, I hope your massage helps you.
Booksaver, Your talk of your snorts and giggles made ME giggle!
I think I'll tear myself away from the laptop after I read obits and get "going". Now that I've got "Finishing Friday" ingrained on my brain, it gives me a good focus!
HAPPY FINISHING FRIDAY, EVERYBODY!

Re: Finishing Friday
Good morning (afternoon?
) everyone!!!
I am dressed2s, but not s2s.
I just got up and put on yesterday's clothes to hurry up and go down the road to local fund-raiser for chicken stew.
* sigh * They were already sold out!!! Grrrr!!! And they didn't really advertise it well, either. The stew-maker is sorta a local-legend around here so I guess the moral of this story is, the early bird gets the stew.
Oh well.
Now dh says we are going to high school football game and will shiver through THAT tonight, so we can eat there.
Brrrrr....
I notice I never posted yesterday. Had VERY little to post until after about 4:30 p.m. By that time, I had walked 4 miles, made the DPC to insurance agent, AND repotted a plant and brought in three outdoor plants (b/c we had our first freeze warning last night.)
Today I'm doing a TINY bit better... as I said, I have on shoes and real clothing, AND I have sheets in the washer. Also proofread another version of the essay from former student.
Still planning to walk this afternoon -- that's why I didn't shower and put on make-up before going out for stew.
(((HUGS))) all around, for all the aches and pains in the village! (((MT))), (((Elizabeth))), (((Dee)))
I did see your note re: insurance, Sadie, and I think ds will be okay either way, since the provider for O bama C are in our state is BCBS insurance. That is what ds has now, so his preferred doctor will surely continue taking it. I still advised ds to call doctor before making ANY changes. This is sooo frustrating and confusing.
Waving to ALL!!!
