Ever since dh mentioned retirement, I have really been watching what I spend. I need to balance the checkbook and subtract items from the budget but I can't seem to get thrilled about doing it.
It is really windy here today. Tonight is the last regular season HS football game. We are playing our chief rival. I'm not sure if dd2 will want to go or not. It doesn't matter to me either way.
Dd2 called earlier. Last night dgd4 wanted to ask dd2 a question. That question being "why are we moving?" So now dd2 is in a tailspin. She mentioned this to dgd17 and she informed her dm that she had moved her "a million" times and hadn't worried about it. Then she told her not to let a 4 year old make her decisions. So dd2 is still second guessing herself. She has a bad habit of that. She is still second guessing dgd2s name, which is now the most popular girls name. She wishes she would have went with Eva as her dh wanted to do, at least no one else would have that name. She can really drive me crazy with this. I told her that dgd4 is just like her and I, not liking change and she will be alright.
The contractor wants her to get the paint picked out for the family room, because he wants to buy it this weekend, so he will be ready to go, once they close on the house. I offered to go with her. I am hoping she can get excited over this and get over her doubts. I keep telling her that she just needs to look forward and quit looking back. If I am a broken record, she sure can call me on it. I have learned when to shut up and let her make her own mistakes, if she won't listen to reason. I also have learned to only offer my opinion when it is asked for. Most of the time I feel like I am wasting my breath because she isn't going to do what I suggest anyway.

Re: FIRST FRIDAY OF NOVEMBER
Sinks are clean, I have moved small plates and cups of holiday glassware. They are rinsed and put away. I still need to bring
up the big plates and decide if I will need the glasses or not.
Crib blankets are in the dryer.
Hens have been fed and released.

Oh... Lilac, I sympathize w/your dd somewhat, b/c I second-guess myself sooo much... but I cannot even IMAGINE moving as often as she has. (((BIG HUGS))) for you as you try to keep her calm.
Have safe travel, Kathryn!
So glad you got a quick fix for the car battery, Dee!
I think I will walk myself and then s2s. Fitting Twins' plan to my situation. Then I have to get out and go to post office.
Dcousin wants me to mail her a copy of newspaper w/her granddaughter's pic in it. She has already bought a bunch of copies but needs one more, and I have it in a large envelope so must go to post office and see how much postage it needs. Also have to pay a couple of bills and deposit dh's check. (My retirement check is auto-deposit, but his still comes by mail.)
Hope you have a good day w/babyn, Nancy!
BookSaver, I am impressed w/your plans to save the old coat! I would never have thought of adding the trim on the outside. You are very creative!
Hope you all have a good day!

Re: FIRST FRIDAY OF NOVEMBER
Ran my errands & am back home. Now I'm cleaning the fridge. Took a bunch of stuff to the dumpster & have a small pile in there to take to DS-A's house tomorrow. I had to wipe down the fridge & take out the 2 drawers. For some reason dh had a hard time getting the left drawer out & of course something broke in there.
Now to see if I can get it back in. I'll just keep plodding along & trying to get things ready to go to the car for dh later. I'd like to go over to dd's MH and do some wrapping if I can. It's fairly warm out there so it won't matter if it's coolish in there. (No electric in storage).
Next 30 minutes working in the kitchen/dining room/living room. See how much I can get done in that 30.

Re: FIRST FRIDAY OF NOVEMBER
Hello everyone.
Dee, that didn't sound good to me how your DH was out in all that rain the other day.
Wed eve. I was so stiff and sore I couldn't sleep and I tried 3 different places before I found one that felt decent. And finally took a painkiller to help. So my sleep was mostly the following morning. DH does not understand that. He is less than sympathetic. Anyway, I am feeling slightly better today.
Many hours spent trying to get an aerial picture of a property. Finally found a site that would allow me to print what we needed. DH clicked on some stuff and loads of things downloaded which I had to uninstall. But it is done. I haven't even eaten breakfast yet. sheesh...

Re: FIRST FRIDAY OF NOVEMBER
(((Harmony))) for poor sleep and pain. I know you are describing what my dmom goes through a lot of the time -- and part of my problems here are that I think dh does not realize what her physical situation is like, and thinks she is pretty much a hypochondriac. People who have good health, and who have never been around anyone who was really plagued w/chronic issues, just do not understand what it is like. Until dfil's stroke, I don't think dh had ever been around someone who was really what you would call sick for an ongoing length of time.
I walked 3 miles outdoors, talked to dmom on phone for 30 minutes while I was out there, and talked to God the rest of the time...
and oh my goodness... it is such a BEAUTIFUL day. I cannot even describe how blue the sky is here today. Dmom says we only get these skies in October. I hope she gets outside and enjoys it a little, too. It would do her a world of good.

Re: FIRST FRIDAY OF NOVEMBER
I have dusted, laundry is rounded up, and going.
I have picked up hot spots during the day, so those are current now.
The boiled eggs are cooling and ready to peel in a bit.
The baby has left. I have apx. 1 hr. Before dgson comes. So I have a bit of a breather. Dgson will not be here long today.
Hens have been fed and I gathered eggs.
I have watered the front yd. Dgdson has been here and left. He did not have a good past couple days at school.
I have flipped the laundry.

Re: FIRST FRIDAY OF NOVEMBER
Happy All Saints' Day everyone! DD11 had a good time trick or treating with her friends and no grown ups along. Normally, I would have gone with her, but not on a broken foot. She did want Chinese food (big surprise NOT!) and studied her vocabulary. She had a test today. I got her back to XDH a little later than I should have, but not horribly late. Then, I found she had left her lunch container at my house, and I had to drive it over, so most of the evening was gone before I had a chance to do anything that needed to be done. I did do some party cleanup and found the source of the soap smell in my bedroom. The cats had knocked over a spray bottle of Natures Miracle. It dried without damaging anything, just leaving the smell. I put a LOL in the wash and was supposed to put it in the dryer this morning, but I forgot.
Tonight it is essential that I buy cat litter, charge my phone, and pay bills. I should also go to the grocery store, call a friend, and do some job search research.
I want to go to the knit/crochet group tonight, but there is a problem: their parking lot has 6 spaces and if I do not get one, there will be a long walk. The yarn store is also across town, so it is not a matter of driving down the street and checking out the lot. Not sure what I am going to do.
I do know what I am going to do tomorrow: sleep late! No cat clinic duty with a broken foot. Then, I will go to the knit/crochet group that meets at the coffee house with plenty of parking.

Re: FIRST FRIDAY OF NOVEMBER
LOL!!! Neither dmom nor I could pass a doctor's test to tell what day it is!
Dh came into the bathroom while I was getting ready to s2s and said, "It's November."
I said, "Yes...? And...?"
He said, "Well, you said we only get these skies in October."
* sigh *
Waving to all! Time to go get dbil and head out for Friday night football.

I went to the cemetery where my mom and brother are. Took some flowers from my dad's funeral and also spent some time trimming the grass around the inset headstone.
Also took back the very expensive "smart" phone and went back to the other company where unlimited talk and text is less than a dollar a day. Much smarter.
