Happy Birthday Norma!

We attended the lovely Candlelighting service at our church last night. So beautiful and peaceful to see all the candles lit and sing "Silent Night" together.
Harriet- you can tell HRH that Guy Fieri, our hometown celebrity, was there at church with his Mom and Dad, and two sons and wife. You can spot that hair across a dimly lit church anytime - LOL.

Having an easy day at home with DH and DS. We may go out driving later for a change of scenery, but for now we're happy nesting at home.

The potato salad and deviled eggs are done. I sure dirty a lot of pans, bowls and utensils to make those 2 things.

I need to shower but I am tired.

Left overs are yummy! That is how to tell if it is good food it is even better the 2nd day. Hens loved the canned corn. I've done sections of my work outs.

Last night H. read the Christmas story part of our tradition made me feel better about missing the candle lite service.

We've had a wonderful Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. Dinner is ready in 3 minutes so have to make this a quick post . Love you all so much & am so glad to be a part of this friendly, caring village. (((Hugs)))

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVENING!

DD came with books today, an afghan I'd made years ago, which needed a repair job done on it, so after dinner, she napped on my side of the bed, which gave me time to repair the afghan. It wasn't a major job. Little one.

The pork roast was wonderful, mashed potatoes, peas, dinner rolls, and cherry pie and ice cream for dessert. We watched TV, after DD got back up. She was tired.

I "tried" to crochet a 3-color striped star dishcloth, got to the 5th row, it made no sense to me anymore, and since I was carrying the colors in back of my work (like the pattern said to do) rather than breaking off and weaving ends in as I went, I got confused because here on my lap I had 3 cones of Peaches 'n' Creme yarns getting tangled up with each other. I gave up, have decided to go to my dishcloth binder because there's a simple to do 1-color star dishcloth in it.

We had a very nice day together, the 3 of us. DD loved her infinity scarf to match her green wool coat, too. I showed her another pattern for one, but she declined it being made for her. It wasn't her style.

Now I need/want to write letters to get all caught up with and need to plan out the rest of the week, weekend, and New Year.

I noticed that a tv station was showing the Yule Log show all day so I recorded a couple of hours of it while I was doing other things. No idea what music they were playing with it or if there were commercials. I figured I would listen to it sometime while I'm sewing and if I don't like the music, it can go on mute. If there are too many commercials, I'll delete it and either try again next year or buy a dvd of it. I know there are several versions of it for sale with different types of music. Seems like I've heard there is also a version that has no music, just the crackling of the fire, which would be very peaceful.

We had a restful day. DH stayed in his mancave the whole day, watching tv and doing something on his computer. I did chores in slow motion and watched some tv, too. Cleared a bunch of recordings off the hdr that I didn't think would be worth the time to watch.

Tomorrow we'll be getting back to normal schedule, more or less.

Home from a wonderful Christmas dinner. Dh and I napped first and then spent a rushed hour and a half cooking yorkshire puddings, potatoes, carrots and gathering the rest of our contribution together. Cleaned up as well as I went so we came home to a clean kitchen except for one crock pot. Woot!

Tomorrow is our Boxing Day party so I need to get the food put away and head off to bed quickly.

Late last night, DH and I stayed up to watch Christmas shows. We watched a Catholic service from midnight until we got too tired at 12:30 a.m. It was wonderful to hear the readings, the music, and everything. We woke up at 9 a.m. so tired all day. It was nice to watch "It's a Wonderful Life," last night, too. We saw another musical show from Seattle, too, which featured local artists (musicians). It was great to hear new-to-us groups. The music was nice, quiet, and soothing. It was a nice Christmas Eve. Sometimes Christmas Eve is "tough" for me because in 1994, my Dbro-36, passed away from a heart attack. It didn't bother me this year, I'd forgotten about it yesterday, but remembered today. I wasn't sad, but was grateful I'd known him, how funny and comical he was and how he was my favorite brother.

I emailed our Dson/Ddil/Dgrson to wish them Merry Christmas, and chat. It was nice.
