trissie, you've reminded me that we never made it to our local public peony gardens here. I think they're past their prime now. I'm sorry about DMIL's spell. It is good that DSIL is finally understanding her need for full time care. WTG on the report!
I've never cooked duck, Kitty. Dh has. Nice that the rain has stopped.
I liked both SHEMs very much, trissie and Kitty! Trissie's SHEM made me grin.
The next weeks are very scheduled for me.
6/11-6/15 5 houseguests; also feed the Ks for several meals = cooking/ providing lunch for 8 people several days and providing breakfast for 6 people for several days
6/12 Host dinner for 15 people; we cook - dh is making seafood paella (reserve seafood ahead of time)
6/13 dd30's event
6/14 BIG cook out at dd30's place: we help cook for 20+ people
6/18-6/20 conference in Ohio; in a bnb with 4 other people
6/21 Shakespeare in the Park - evening!
6/23 - 6/27 Backpacking in the UP (if the weather looks OK)
7/3-7/5 CG1 camping in Canada
Somehow, this week when houseguests arrive and dd30's ceremony/ reception thing are this weekend, I have a busy week in other areas of my life:
- Dh and/ or I have an event every evening for 8 nights in a row, from last night (dh - evening out with his lab - PhD students and post-docs) through this Sunday. I'm skipping tomorrow night's event because it's all just a bit much for me.
- Payroll will be heavier than usual. Today I am subbing and attending a meeting as the secretary, so I need to be at the school for about 3 hours and then type up notes afterward. This is the only day I've had to go in to payroll for 2 weeks. Of course.
- I also have a haircut, which I scheduled 6 weeks ago. This takes about 2.5 hours of a day with the drive to dfriend's house and back.
- In addition, dd30 last minute has asked me to create a fun Q-A sheet about her to put on the tables at the reception with photos on the answer sheet. I will need some tech help, which is usually dd28, but she's very busy with other things - although, being BO as she is, she has already baked the 100+ cupcakes for the reception and put them in the freezer. (I was a little surprised to hear that but she says they'll be fine and fresh when she thaws them out.) I will share a pic. She did a test batch and they are super cute with the decorations.
OK - I'm off to a late start on a packed week with tons to do. But - I'm off to a start, so that's something! LOL! It is sunny and forecast to reach 85F (29.4C) here. Currently, it is 68F (20C). I'm heading out for a jog first.
