trissie, I never knew there were so many varieties of peonies! I'm not ready for morning today.
Bama, it does sound nice to have DD1 nearby but not in the house with you. I don't have any insurance advice either. I've always been covered by dh's employee insurance.
I hope you get your outdoor time today, Kitty! It sounds like you have a quiet evening to look forward to.
Thinking of you as you start your trip today, L Ann. It sounds fabulous!! I can't wait to hear of your adventures - if you care to share them with us. :)

Last night, we had a family meeting, including M and R (S and J12yo are out of town) to review plans for the next few days and figure out what still needs to be done. We got home from that at 9:50 pm - so even though I didn't join dh at the cook out, I still had an event last night. Dh had 2.

We got a lot of rain overnight. Still, temps are in the 70s and will hit 80 by 10:30 a.m. I need to jog before then. I was going to do the hill, but the paths in the arb will be muddy and full of puddles. The high today is forecast to be 91*F (32.8C).

Today, I hope to jog. I'll stick to paved paths to avoid puddles and mud - maybe 2.5 miles. I have a haircut appointment at 11:30 (my friend cancelled my appointment tomorrow - which actually saves me an hour or more since going to her takes 2:15+). Then, I have a zoom meeting with the new trustee at 2:30. I hope to get groceries - at 3 different stores. Thinking. . . I'll do TJ tomorrow bc I need to go early and I'm jogging first thing this morning. And I need to start making guest beds and spiffing guest rooms. Well, the play room needs more than a spiff. Then, I'm meeting JT downtown for dinner at 7 pm.

My car needs a wash but I'm waiting until the rain moves out of the area. I may do this tomorrow.

Morning all. I so love peonies. I planted one last summer. I think it was too late. Nothing else was in the bed yet and it didn't catch or have enough snow protection. It died over winter. I think I'll wait till that bed is well established. Or maybe leave it for experienced gardeners lol.

I agree with the shem . Morning is here and I'm not ready.

Lann have a wonderful vacation. Sounds great.

Helian your house guests along with baby I are coming soon right? You are so busy.

In some ways Bama if that accident was going to happen it landed very conveniently for the benefits. Except it's very unfortunate. How is he recovering? Must be really hard.

Well I am not sure what today will bring. I actually have nothing on the adjenda. Except maybe go see mom later. There's a get together at a church friend's house i could go to. No sure yet she wants to tell us about all her health improvement products. Some might be good but I don't even take the stuff in have already. If I went it would be just for the social. Gonna text w and see if she's going.

Outside looks pretty good. Except for watering. And I should clean the car a little. I've been puttering putting away odds and ends. If I got motivated I could Shampoo living room rug again. I kinda want to wait till a little closer to when dd comes. Pretty soon that puddle Casper keeps insisting on will be dry. But today might be my day that has nothing.

I think I will keep going room by room. Dd room is done. Except the bedding right before they come. I need to keep going on my craft room. Maybe I should actually get started on the paint project I wanted to do. And outdoor sign to redo. Need to decide what to do for a crochet project for coming baby. I still didn't start anything yet. So much I need to do. Too scattered... very tired still to the point I keep almost putting stuff completely wrong spot or going wrong direction looking for something. Scares me completely.

Where to begin.

Finish qt
Shower
Reboot laundry
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some
Declutter some paper stacks in bedroom

Empty and reload dw
Finish tidying kitchen all the way School run

Good Morning!
Second Heartland Harvest has garden produce being distributed at our church parking lot this morning. It's for everyone, not just low income. I'll be getting dressed and heading there, and will share with my student tenant and with dfBS if she comes home from the hospital. She is responding to treatment, and her supplemental oxygen need has slightly reduced. Yesterday she did start walking to the bathroom instead of using the commode. I do need to go to our local Public Health loan closet to get a walker - that she doesn't want to need, but I want to have available if she gets home and decides that the is willing to use one.
Then I need to go to the hospital again and hope that I can meet with the new hospitalist.
Gosh, she takes so much of my time.
I did get the K floor mopped at mother's yesterday, and dsis is on her way, with her dh and little dog. It will be so much fun to have her here.

Good morning! For real this time.

Trissie, I do love peonies. I don’t think they do well in my zone, preferring cooler weather.

Kitty, dd being so close has good points. We need to work on our mother/daughter relationship as she still has that child thinking, mom is mean if she makes me do things for myself lol. The dogs don’t like their simparico trio which comes in huge chews, why can’t companies make these things tasty? Same for specialty foods, my cats won’t touch kidney friendly foods so I have to mix with the cheap stuff. :P

Lann, Kitty, Laura, I’m at that awkward age of not working so no employer insurance and not old enough for Medicare quite yet. In 4 years I can get it. For now options are cobra, which is a self pay to keep employer ins but I think it’s only for 18 months, which still leaves a gap, or buy a policy which is very expensive. It’s not really a big concern as I don’t have many health issues, it’s the “what if” that always sticks in my brain and makes me anxious. It will all work out. The extended employment while at home is truly a small blessing to come out of the accident.
Dh is pretty much the same as always, watching history shows and in bed a little more but not much difference from when he wasn’t hit by a car lol.
Funny story- I asked the doctor if dh could start walking and he said no, dh can’t walk for a work out right now, I said I just meant can he walk to the kitchen to get something lol. (Which of course he can)

Helia, busy as always. Has your foot healed or is it still hurting when you run?

Gma, a walker on hand is a good thing. Dh has been using my mom’s, I’m glad I kept her things. Hope you get some delicious fresh fruits and vegetables. This is a great time of the year for foodies!

I’m sorry I sound so whiny right now! Thanks for bearing with me as I deal with this chapter. 🥰

Well, these discussions really make me grateful for our universal insurance - all legal residents (including visiting EU citizens) are insured, and it's paid for partially by state (for children, elderly, disabled, registered unemployed and caregivers) and partially as a special kind of tax (13.5% of income - 4.5% payable by the employee and 9% by the employer). Yes, those who earn a lot, pay a lot, but then again, I'd rather pay a lot and receive a little (meaning I am healthy and earn good money) than pay little and receive a lot (if I were sick and unemployed). And it was huge relief when the twins and DBD needed very costly care and all I had to worry about was hospital parking fees (which, as we learned, the hospital didn't even charge for parents of hospitalized children).

So you will be having a free evening, kittykatt? Will there be a party? Cats with hats? Champagne and crackers? :-)
Bama, sorry for inquiring about your age, but how long till you could apply for Medicare?
good luck packing and safe travels to the airport, L.Ann!

TaDas
- morning madness
- load of darks sorted and delay started
- snacks for DS and DBD
- DBD to school
- made apt for somebody to see my car as the immobilizer is really acting up - I almost was not able to start the car this morning
- day at work
- library to return overdue books (they were due yesterday but of course it was not worth the drive to the city...)
- pick up DBD from school
- gather plastics, paper and green waste and drop them off at collection points
- darks flipped to dryer
- bit of rest and recharge

ToDo
- midday routine
- clean kitchen
- oversee homework

Our senior centers have a person you can talk to specifically for health insurance questions for free, Bama. I don’t know if that is an option. They service anyone over 50 here and know way more than I do about the ins and outs of different options.

It is super humid today although not too hot. I got rained on in my last walk so I need to do that next.

1-finish walk
2-refill bird feeder
3-finish book

Trissie we pretty much have that coverage in Canada too. If you don't have employee coverage then you have a small monthly bill. Like a tax. Haven't seen that since before dh worked at the store. Of course wait times are ridiculous and hospitals are super full so there's the cons.

Wow disadvantage of being short I could not see the build up behind the sink edge and taps. I soaked my blind strings in bleach water cause they hang behind the tap. ewww.. I still have bleach water in the sink. Some details are in oder especially the fridge.

I'm eating cereal then fresh coffee. I turned on the sprinkler and put fertilizer stakes in for the tomatoes. Deciding if it's too late to replant a few things or be patient maybe they are just slow. It has not gotten very warm yet.
