LadyM, I use curry powder in my "kitchery" of rices, lentils, sweet potatoes and onion for the Instant Pot. It is not HRH's favorite, but I find it a very pleasant aroma and taste. I didn't think I would like it with sweet potatoes, but it surprised me. ( and to tell you the truth, I didn't know it had as many ingredients as you explained). Turmeric powder is my usual for savory morning dishes, but sometimes I buy the root and grate it. It is probably my most frequent spice purchase. I want to use ginger more often.
I’ve already seen my dermatologist this morning and got a clean bill of health.

Hurray, Ramblin' - I'm sure you are happy to be off the dermatologists' radar so much.

lucylee, we talk about travel, but have no plans. I will be meeting my new dr soon and wonder if she will release me from requirements to stay near medical facilities. I've spent a good while supposed to be within reasonable driving distance, and our own house is 30-45 mins away. It's a little harder for HRH to travel since gall bladder surgery, and he worries Tobias will not do well if life is disrupted. Still, I'm so YOUNG, you know? ;) Just a lot of options! If you could travel effortlessly (within reason), where would you want to go?

Costumelady, hoping you are having a great time, speaking of travel.

Kittykatt's Colin and Colleen puzzling story made me smile.

Twins' weekend must have gotten busier than she thought it might.

Thinking of blessed and family, hoping the new room is a happy change.

Hmmm... if I could travel anywhere, with no problems of sleepiness driving, or anxiety of planning, or any of those things that plague me  If I could just teleport like they did on Star Trek --
-- Harriet, one place I'd go would be in your direction -- The Biltmore House is on my bucket list.
I'd also go to the beach... and Disney World (if money were no object! That place is EXPENSIVE. If I could go easily and without it costing an arm and a leg, I would easily become one of those adult Disney people.
To be a little bit more reasonable, I still want to take ds & family to Graceland, if not this summer, maybe next year.

But this week, I will be content to be home, and as KittyKat said, and "refresh" myself -- sleeping without someone waking me for breakfast before I want to get up... and reading the paper without someone asking me "why do you have to do that?" or interrupting to quiz me on Middle Eastern geography... SMH... My day has a LOT of interruptions when the grandchildren are around.

Today, I did talk to them for a little while. They had been to Appomatox and some nearby battlefield, and were driving on towards Washington.
After that, and another long phone call with dmom (who wants me one day of my free week to help her get a new microwave and vacuum cleaner at Wmart) -- then I finally went to the carwash and washed ds' truck that I am using while my Tahoe is in the shop. I actually went to TWO carwashes! I first went to the one where you spray it yourself, but I ran out of money -- $12 worth -- when it took some of my money and didn't give me the full 30 minutes. So there I was, with only half of it rinsed. So then I went to the drive thru wash near Wmart. I knew it wouldn't really come clean -- this truck sits under a bunch of trees all the time and DS never washes it. So I just did the cheapest option there and then I vacuumed the floor mats.
THEN ... put some gas in it, and since I was right there at Wmart, I went in and got my fruit trays and a few other things.
Ordered take-out from local steakhouse, came home, ate, and watched several episodes of Dateline.
Fruit tray is now ready to take to church tomorrow, and there are clean sheets on the bed. All I have to do is read through the Sunday School lesson for the children tomorrow. (Tomorrow is our pastor's last Sunday and we're having lunch at church after the service. I have to teach the children's class for ddil, and at first we thought there might be fewer kids, since our two are out of town, but now I suspect I'll have three noisy little boys and at least a couple girls.)

I could NOT get to sleep last night. I was still wide awake at 5:00 A.M.!!! I wasn't particularly worried about the kids, I just couldn't fall asleep. I am hoping to do better tonight.

LadyM, when I picture your yard, with all the vehicles and boys working on them, I imagine that's what my dad's yard looked like when he was growing up. He and my uncle always loved cars.
I might have told y'all this before. My uncle sold a 1966 Chevelle years ago. When he started to look for one to restore, he came across one that looked just like the one he had sold. The guy who was selling this one said, "You know, the fellow I bought this from got it from someone in your area..." They looked at the papers in the glove compartment and it was the same car my uncle had first owned!
It is so nice that your older grandson enjoys spending time with you and LordM. I hope my dgrands will always stay close to me. Also sending "feel better soon" wishes for LordM!

I'm so glad you got a good report at the dermatolgist, Rose!

My sunglasses came from Wmart, and they have a very slight reddish tone to them. So I guess I'm always looking through "rose-colored glasses." Sunsets are really pretty.

Cathy, we're in "feels like temps" around 100 degrees. It kinda felt good washing the truck because the water kept blowing back in my face! IKWYM about fog! I can't stand to drive when the fog is so thick. When I was still teaching, I used to have to pull out from my road onto a main state highway to get to school. When the fog was thick, I'd roll down my windows and try to listen for oncoming traffic and finally just say a prayer and go.

Nancy, I hope the bite doesn't trouble you too much. I found out a few years ago that wet tobacco really does help wasp stings. DGS got stung at one of my cousin's weddings. A friend took the tobacco out of a cigarette, chewed it a bit, and then put it on DGS. It was amazing how quickly the swelling disappeared.

My yard is beyond embarrassingly high right now, but I can't say anything to the man who mows it because his wife is developing dementia and he can't leave her alone. I figure they need the money, and he says he wants to keep mowing for me, and honestly, if he doesn't mow, that's another week that I can hold on to $100. He tries to do it every other week, but he never gets to it that often.

Well, that's as far as top review lets me go, so I'm just going to say good night to ALL of you and I hope you all have a good Sunday to start the next week!
Tomorrow is another day.
