LucyLee I simply must say that if anyone had seen the state of my kitchen this morning, they might have cried. I knew I wanted to cry. I just don't like doing dishes, especially pots and pans. I don't WANT to be doing marathon dishes and I know how easy it would be to keep up with the pots and pans, but after various cleaning things that I fuss with every day (taking out either bathroom or kitchen garbage, plus at least 1 litter pan, plus making all the meals and doing all the errands) I get tired and dishes are always at the bottom of my priority list.

Tonight at supper dh just didn't feel up to eating. He had low sugar and I gave him orange juice. After specifically asking me to fry mushrooms and onions and then serve them with fried pork chops and I did asparagus in the oven, he just ate the asparagus and now he's sitting on the couch. He says he has an upset stomach. We both discussed what he ate today. I've eaten most of the same stuff and I'm not feeling unwell.

Sheesh, here I go again with another pity party for one.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

I'm having a wonderful afternoon upstairs researching. Someone had attached a previously unknown daughter to one of my ancestors, and of course, I immediately deleted the relationship. But upon research, I found that it was plausible. So I'm building a proof argument and that's fun for me to dig into. I know writing citations and such aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I'm enjoying it.

DH has let me work this afternoon to now, and he's put together our dinner.

So very sorry, Cathy. It's hard to see our loved ones in poor health.

LadyM, I was saying egg salad can be such a mild, comforting dish. But deviled eggs really need vinegar or other "twang", and so that's why I consider the two foods so different. When I'm taste-testing the mixture, I keep the vinegar and mustard at the ready to add more, if deviled egg filling is not twangy enough, lol. Pickle juice can do the trick, too.

We enjoyed the service this morning. The regular song leader was on vacation, so that was fun seeing the very sweet lady soprano leading, although she is a shy person.

I've been stitching quite a bit today, and also out checking on plants, watering some.

DgsW and dgdC came by and brought HRH an extra Father's Day gift of something about baby Yoda washing dishes?? Something cute - I'll have to check it out. They hung out a while until time for dgdC's children's group at church.

We got the delivery of my present to him of an ice maker and it is larger and heavier than I expected. Also more complicated to set up. So, the jury is out, but the ice is nice. Not a moment too soon for him with the weather getting hotter. He'll enjoy it for his iced tea, with which he has been experimenting lately. Also hibiscus tea, tart and pink.

Well, Cathy, if you could see the state of my ds' house, you'd cry.
Dsisil was talking about her grandson and his wife who have recently moved into her house while they save money for their own. (Dsisil still owns the house she lived in before she married dbil.) She was saying that they (the newlyweds) are minimalists and they have packed away a lot of stuff and she doesn't know where they put it. I told her I WISHED ds and ddil were minimalists!
Interestingly, I think my brother and his wife ARE. Dbro was influenced positively by dh's OCD. Unfortunately, ds was influenced negatively.

I know I'm not supposed to let it bother me, but I can't shake the fear that someone -- dbil, dsisil, someone from church, an extended family member -- someone -- will come to the door sometime and think they are just awful people because the mess is on par with hoarders, although it is not the trash kind of hoard. They are very good about taking out the trash. That's about it.
Tomorrow is another day.
